、hnology 1. PURPOSE This test is designed to prescribe the method of evaluating the proper strength and stiffness of Shift fork of manual transmission, in order to increase the efficiency and reliability of test process. 2. SCOPE This test is applied to Shift fork of manual transmission. 3. TERM DEFI
、NITION 3.1. Stiffness Balance Stiffness Balance refers to the distribution rate of strength created from Bending quantity about a certain load. It can be calculated through the strength test performed at the right/left tips of fork which contact Sleeve in case that the speed of manual transmission c
、hanges. It is used as one factor of Synchro performance. 3.2. Allowable Load Test for Strength on Sleeve This is the test to measure the strength of fixed fork by using a real Sleeve and providing the weight to fork which contacts Sleeve. 3.3. Allowable Load Test for Strength on Lug This is the test
、 to measure allowable load on Lug by using a Zig alternative for Shift Finger. This is used to measure of the strength for Lug and Lug fixing part (fixing pin or welding part) 4. TEST EQUIPMENT 4.1. Universal Tensile Machine (UTM) 4.2. Data Acquisition System or Data recorder 4.3. Jig Fixture needed
、 for Test: equipment needed to fix and support the test piece in a way required by the design. 5. TEST METHOD 5.1. Stiffness Balance Test 5.1.1. Set up the test preparation like the below picture 1. 5.1.2. When the setting is completed like Pic 1, draw the load-deflection graph by providing the load
、 stipulated by the design at the speed of 5mm/min 5.1.3. Compare the maximum bending quantity by testing the left side and right side respectively. 8、st of Shift Fork 5.2. Allowable Load Test for Strength on Sleeve 5.2.1. Use the real Sleeve parts like the below Picture 2. 5.2.2. When the test setting comes to an end like Pic 2, provide the load at the speed of 10mm/min up to the damage point. Measure the starting point of plastic deformation, yi

Allowable Load Test for Strength on Sleeve of Shift Fork EDS-T-2257TEST PROCEDURE OF SHIFT FORK PAGE: 3/3 ISSUED DATE: 2005. 11. 03 REVISED DATE: . . VERSION: 1 GM DAEWOO Auto & Technology 5.3. Allowable Load Test for Strength on Lug 5.3.1. Set up
、the test preparation like picture 3. 5.3.2. When the test setting comes to an end like Pic 3, provide the load at the speed of 10mm/min up to a certain load remarked on the design. Check the damage on Lug and Lug fixing part (pin or welding). Allowable Load Test for Strength on Lug of Shift Fork 6.
、EVALUATION METHOD 6.1. Comply with the design in terms of Stiffness Balance. 6.2. The result of allowable load test on the sleeve contact point (fork point) shall show the yield strength of fork part and fork fixing part shall be higher than the required value. 6.3. The result of allowable load test for strength on lug shall show that lug and lug fixing part must not be broken up to the required load.
