T255 Program). It is Superceded for all future projects and replaced by GMW14288 1. PURPOSE This stand
、ard defines test method of lateral stiffness of the trunk lid for exact fitting during use of an actual vehicle. 2. SCOPE Hoods passenger cars and multi-purposed passenger cars. Matters other than those defined in this standard will be pursuant to the regulations of drawings. 3. TEST SAMPLES 3.1. A
、supplier shall notify the company of any changes or deviation in design. 3.2. The test components shall consist of components satisfying dimensions, materials and other requirements specified in the drawings. However, the components can be configured for the purpose of development upon consent with
、designers. 3.3. The test components consist of a trunk lid A in white installed with components of a trunk lid, a trunk lid hinge and a body in white. 3.4. The test components shall at least be coated with primer. 3.5. The test components shall be free from any cracks, deformation or scratches that
、may affect the test results. 4. TEST EQUIPMENT 4.1. Leveling surface table 4.2. Fixing jig of B.I.W. (Body in White) 4.3. Length displacement transducer available for measurement of a length longer than 50 mm 4.4. Device fixing the length displacement transducer 4.5. Signal amplifier 4.6. Load cell
、(for measurement weight larger than 20 kgf) 4.7. Recorder (for recording the test results in a load vs displacement graph) EDS-T- 3235TEST PROCEDURE OF TRUNK LID LATERAL STIFFNESS PAGE: 2/3 ISSUED DATE: 1998. 07. 07 REVISED DATE: 2008. 10. 15 VERSION: 3 GM DAEWOO Auto & Technology 5. TEST PROCEDURE
、5.1. Fix B.I.W. (Body in White) on the surface table with the B.I.W. fixing jig. 5.2. Connect the trunk lid and the trunk lid hinge with B.I.W. (Body in White). Connect the other components (such as spring hinge, trunk lid and spring trunk lid) to the trunk lid hinge to fully open the trunk lid. If
、the gas spring for support of the trunk lid is installed, install the gas spring on a condition identical with that of an actual vehicle. 5.3. Fully open the trunk lid. 5.4. Install the length displacement transducer on a symmetrical point of the loading point to measure the lateral displacement of
、the trunk lid (Refer to fig. 1). 5.5. Connect the signal amplifier and the cable jack of the length displacement transducer to each other. 5.6. Calibrate the signal amplifier and the recorder. 5.7. Slowly apply the load on the edge line of the trunk lid in the lateral direction up to 15 kgf using th
、e load cell to measure the lateral stiffness (Refer to fig. 1). 5.8. After applying the load, measure the displacements of elasticity + plasticity (E + P) and plasticity (P), and record the results on the data sheet (table 1). Draw the displacement in X-axis and the load in Y-axis in a graph with th
、e record. 6. EVALUATION 6.1. Compare and evaluate the permissible target value of the lateral stiffness of the trunk lid with the test results on other vehicle models with the displacement (E + P) at the symmetrical point upon loading 15 kgf in lateral direction.
