3、311. 1. PURPOSE This standard aims at specifying the performance and validation of the height adjuster system and parts. 2. SCOPE This standard applies to the height adjuster assembly (including knobs, buttons, fixings). 3. DEFINITION OF TERMS 3.1. FMEA (Failure mode and effects analysis): Method of

4、 analyzing the failure mode of components and its effects on the upper-level item to find out imperfection of design or potential defects 3.2. FMVSS (Federal motor vehicle safety standards): US Federal regulations that stipulate the safety-related items to permit application to related parts. 4. COM

The height adjuster used for applicable GMDAT vehicles shall meet the requirements of GMDAT Product Engineering a

6、nd laws and regulations of the applicable areas in terms of performance, functions, quality, reliability and environmental factors. 5.2. The supplier shall have a complete knowledge of operation of the supplied height adjuster and ensure reliability per test items in this standard. 5.3. When the tar

7、get reliability and durability levels of the supplier and GMDAT Product Engineering show discrepancies with each other, these may be determined by an agreement. 5.4. Components and system shall meet the following: FMVSS Ref. NO Subject FMVSS 201 Interior Fittings FMVSS 208 Occupant Protection FMVSS

8、209 Seat belt Installation FMVSS 302 Inflammability FMVSS 210 Seat belt Anchorage 5.5. The height adjuster shall meet the regulations of the applicable areas at the time of use. 5.6. The design/development data and validation/production test results shall be kept for at least 15 years from the point

9、 of production. 5.7. All drawings, test results and related data shall be submitted to GMDAT Engineering upon request. 6. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS DRAWING INFORMATION For application of this standard, the following shall be included in the component drawing: 6.1. Details of the following shall be incl

10、uded in the component drawing: 6.1.1. Minimum tensile strength 6.1.2. Sliding effort with the latch released 6.1.3. Latch release force 6.1.4. button release load under 10N load 6.1.5. Component weight 6.1.6. Maximum adjustable range 6.1.7. Dynamic load performance that meets related regulations (EC

Major features 6.1.10. Material of component 6.2. The fixing torque shall be specified on the torque data s

12、heets. 6.3. All components used for the product shall provide desired quality and be free from sharp edges and defects. 7. FAILURE MODE AND EFFECTS ANALYSIS 7.1. Design & process FMEA shall meet DMS-Q40 or spec of manufacturer. 7.2. Components subject to this standard are based on the following two

13、FMEA: Process Responsibility 1 Manufacturer Supplier 2 Design Supplier or GMDAT Design dependant on the design origin 7.3. FMEA shall reflect the current status of product design & process and also its changes whenever made. 8. PERFORMANCE MESUREMENT & VALIDATION (SPECIFIC TESTS) 8.1. The test is co

Test condition description The conditions described as vehicle means the equivalent condition in which the component is mounted in the vehicle. The condition described as r

17、ig means the condition that is closet to the vehicle condition as long as possible. The condition described as free does not bind the test condition. 8.1.2. The supplier shall perform the following tests while the product is under production and examine all dimensions described in this standard in c

18、onnection with maintenance of performance. 19、ity / abuse test 6 car sets/year 8.2. Functional validation 8.2.1. Pre & Post Test Functional Check (1) The button release force shall not exceed the spec described in DWG. (2) The adjustment/sliding adjustment force shall not exceed the spec described in DWG. 8.2.2. Acceptance The component before

20、and after the test shall stay within the spec defined in this standard or related DWG. The supplier shall prove that the minimum specified value does not exceed x- and the maximum value does not exceed x+ . This applies also to the test sample. (1) The component shall operate within the range descri

21、bed above or the level agreed upon between the component supplier and GMDAT Engineering. (2) After completion of the durability test, the adjustment force and release force described in DWG shall not be exceeded and sticking shall not occur. 8.2.3. Retesting Engineering change items related to perfo

22、rmance or those generated from failure to meet the requirements in this standard shall be verified again according to this standard. 8.3. Environmental validation (Component tests) The number of test samples is shown in the test schedule described in section 8.1. The supplier shall prove that compon

23、ents provided for all vehicle tests are technically verified samples. For the components rejected in the test, a report shall be submitted to GMDAT Engineering. 8.3.1. 24、EVISED DATE: 2008. 10. 27 VERSION: 3 GM DAEWOO Auto & Technology (2) Objective : Evaluate excessive vibration, rattles & squeaks from the height adjuster. (3) Test Procedure : With the height adjuster attached to the vehicle body, apply vibration with an amplitude of 1mm and frequency of 10Hz 50Hz.

25、(4) Acceptance Check : The function check shall be performed according to section 8.2.2. The assembly shall not generate rattles & squeaks or excessive vibration above the level allowed by GMDAT engineering. 8.3.2. Exposure to humidity (1) Test standard : EDS-T-7005 (test procedure according to the

27、ce Check : After drying for 24 hours following removal of moisture, there shall be no performance drop. Function check according to section 8.2.2. 8.3.3. Exposure to low temperature (1) Test duration : After leaving the component inside the chamber set to -40 for 5 hours, lower the temperature insid

28、e the chamber to -30 and keep the state for 5 hours. (2) Test condition : Rig/Vehicle (3) Acceptance check : According to section 8.2.2. 8.3.4. Exposure to high temperature (1) Test duration : After leaving the component inside the chamber set to +95 for 5 hours, lower the temperature inside the cha

29、mber to +85 and keep the state for 5 hours. (2) Test condition : Rig/Vehicle (3) Acceptance check : According to section 8.2.2. 8.3.5. Drop test (1) Test procedure : Drop the component from a height of 1 meter or at several different levels agreed upon with GMDAT Engineering. (2) Floor condition : C

30、oncrete (3) Acceptance check : The sample shall meet requirements in section 8.2 and show no signs of crack, wrong cover position and malfunction. 8.3.6. Noise (adjustment) (1) Test procedure : After mounting the sample to the vehicle, operate it in the usual operating manner. The noise EDS-T-4404SE

(2) Acceptance : The sample shall meet noise requirements defined in DW

32、G according to section 8.2. 8.3.7. Resistance to salt splay (corrosion test) (1) Test standard : According to EDS-T-7143 or equivalent spec of manufacturer (2) Test condition : Vehicle (3) Test duration : 48 hours (4) Acceptance check : After drying for 24 hours following removal of moisture, there

33、shall be no performance drop. Function check after completion of test according to section 8.2.2. 8.4. Durability & reliability 8.4.1. Endurance test (1) Test condition : Rig (2) Test duration : 6000 cycles (3) Test procedure : Move the adjuster assembly up and down 6000 times along the track with t

34、he latch completely locked at each notch. In case of the ratchet system, move it in one direction where the latch is locked. 8.4.2. Shelf latching (1) Test condition : Rig/vehicle (2) Test procedure : While applying a force of 10N to the seat belt D-ring, position the height adjuster between two loc

35、king sections and abruptly pull it downward. It shall be locked to the lower locking position. (3) Acceptance check : According to section 8.2.2. 8.4.3. Abuse load test (release lever) (1) Test duration : 20 seconds with a minimum force of 200N (2) Test condition : Rig (3) Test procedure : After pos

36、itioning the anchorage to the lowest point, pull the release lever downward with a force of 200N. (4) Acceptance check : According to section 8.2.2. 8.4.4. Abuse load test (release button) (1) Test condition : Rig. (2) Test duration : 1cycle /10sec (3) Test procedure : Apply a force of 200N to the f

37、ront side of the button. (4) Acceptance check : According to section 8.2.2. 8.4.5. Knob retention (1) Test duration : 10 cycles (2) Test condition : Rig (3) Test procedure : When the knob/button is not mechanically fixed but is an insert type, pull the knob with a EDS-T-4404SEAT BELT HEIGHT ADUJSTER

Tensile strength (See Attachment 1) (1) Test duration load : 50-70mm/min with 12kN (2) Test condition : Rig (with a pillar loop) (3) Test procedure : Attach the anchorage and

39、loop to a proper position of the rig. After placing the anchorage to the middle position, pull it along the direction shown in Attachment 1. Perform test until failure occurs and record the causes of the failure. (4) Acceptance check : All products shall meet the spec in DWG and shall show no signs

40、of separation or crack in the hardware. 8.4.7. Fixing bolts/nuts abuse torque (1) Test condition : Rig (2) Test procedure : After placing the anchorage to a proper position of the rig, bolt it with a torque wrench with a force of 50Nm. (3) Acceptance check : The threads shall not peel off and the co

41、mponent shall show no signs of breakage and crack. 8.4.8. Road endurance (1) Test standard : EDS-T-9207 (2) Test duration : 52,500mile (3) Test procedure : Perform function check every 2,500mile according to section 8.2.
