、 1/4 ISSUED DATE: 1984. 10. 02 REVISED DATE: 2008. 10. 27 VERSION: 3 GM DAEWOO Auto & Technology Note: This standard may be applied only for current project (incl. T255 Program). It is Superceded for all future projects and replaced by GMW3172. 1. PURPOSE The purpose of this specification is it, to
、define the suppressing effect (HF - damping) as well as the physical, electrical and endurance tests on suppressor plugs, ignition lead. 2. QUANTITY OF TEST SAMPLE For the laboratony release tests of prototypes, 16 samples - suppressor plug are required. For the endurance test in the car, min. 24 pa
、rts are necessary. The proposed test sequence and the quantity of test samples for every test is given in Blatt 3. 3. QUALITY CHECK For the supervision of the production quality and the satisfaction of this specification, the Dpt. Inspection & Quality control is responsible. 4. VISUAL TEST The suppr
、essor plugs must be free from damages and foreign bodies in the state as supplied. 5. PHISICAL TEST The suppressor plugs must correspond to the definitions and specifications on the drawing in the dimensions and other physical properties. All units of measure are to be given in SI - units (System In
、ternational), as they were discharged of the International Standards Organization. The value of resistor suppressor is to be given on the drawing. If nothing different is given, all tests are to be perfromed at tr (+23 5K). 5.1. Sounduess 5.1.1. Equip 4 suppressor plugs with 65 cm long, serial ignit
、ion leads, air - vent protectors and spark - plug mock - up. 5.1.2. Store asm. over 144 h at +90 2.5K and immediately after then 1 h at +120 2.5K. Draw off lead and air - vent protector from the suppressor plug and insert it again 5 times. 5.1.6. The aged parts are to be so installed into a receptacle that all sealing point
、s are immersed at the following filling with a 10% saline solution. 5.1.7. 7 cm from the edge of the air - vent protector, a shaking device embraces the ignition leads and moves these with an amplitude of 6 mm and 25 . 5.1.8. At a voltage of 20 KV put to the ignition leads of an ignition coil or an
、equivalent voltage source (earthing potential in the water), at an impulse frequency of 20 , break - down or break - off may not occur within a testing time of 2 h. 5.2. Aging test (at high rel. air humidity) 5.2.1. The plug connector is to be equipped with a 11 cm long ignition lead (copper lead) a
、nd air - vent protector. 5.2.2. The plug connector asm. is inserted to a spark - plug mock - up, which is screwed into a metal plate. The spark - plug mock - up is distinguished from a normal spark plug only in the absent center electrode. 5.2.3. A temperature - stabilized ignition coil or an equiva
、lent voltage surce is adjusted to 20 KV (impulse frequency 20 ) at open circuit and then connected to the free, bare end of the ignition lead. The metal plate, into which the spark plug is screwed, is connected with earth connection. The voltage is to be measured. 5.2.4. Store plug connector 10 min
、in cooling chamber at -20 3K. 5.2.5. Take plug connector out of the cooling chamber and immediately store 23 h 50 min in air - conditioning cabinet at +40 2.5K and 97% 1 % rel. air humidity. (If it permits the arrangement, it is to be adjusted to the higher limit value). 5.2.6. The points 5.2.4 and
、5.2.5 are repeated 12 times. This results a total testing time of 288 h. 5.2.7. The point 5.2.3 is repeated per workday (6h after cold storage), while the test sample remains in the air - conditioning chamber. 5.3. The measured voltage may never come to less than 10 KV.EDS-T-5216SUPPRESSOR PLUG, IGN
