The measurement happens on the current supply terminal, in which the blink unit terminals 49 and 49a as

、well as the blink lamp are short-circuited by a transmission line with a resistance of less than 5 mOhm. 7.2.4.1.3 The test voltage is measured at the lamps in which the terminals 49 and 49a of the blink unit are bridged through a transmission line (resistance 5 mOhm). 7.2.4.2 Acceleration time The

、acceleration time is the time interval between the switching-on of the blink unit by the blink switch and the standing of the test voltage on terminal 49a (flasher lamp is switched on). The acceleration time may amount maximum 0.2 s. 7.2.4.3 First bright time The first bright time is the time interv

The first bright time may amount maximum 1 s. 7.2.4.4 Blink frequency and percentage bright time The blink frequency “fg“ is determined after the first 5

、blinking over a function duration of 10 blinking. 7.2.4.4.1 The blink frequency must amount(8515) blinkings/min. The percentage bright time is from on-time - 100% on-time + dark time calculated and should amount(45 + 10) %. - 7 7.2.4.4.2 At a test voltage of 11 V 0.2 V or 15 V 0.2 V and a environmen

、tal temperature of -20 3 K and +70 2.5 K, following requirements are valid: Accelerating time: 0.3 s First bright time: 1.2 s Blink frequency: (90 30) blinkings/min. Percentage bright time: at 60 blinkings/min: 40 to 75% at 90 blinkings/min: 30 to 75% at 120 blinkings/min: 30 to 60% EDS-T-5219BLINK

、d 1*21W + 1*1.2W at terminal 49a), the blink frequency must increase to minimum 2fg-10 up to maximum 280 blinkings/min. 7.2.4.5.2 Directional and warning blink unit(with trailer operation) At black-out of one of the 3 blink lamps at the direction flashing(residual load 2*21W + 1*1.2W at terminal 49a

、), the trailer control lamp connected at terminal 49a must extinct. At switching-on of the trailer blink transducer with 2*21W + 1*1.2W lamp load at terminal 49a, a unique flash-up of the control lamp connected at terminal C2 is tolerated. 7.2.4.6 Blink frequency at strong voltage fluctuation In cas

、e of a strong loading of the mains power supply(tempering operation) the supply voltage can be descend under 9 V for the signaling service (measured at entrance of the test circuit). In this case, a blink frequency increase may appear. With increasing voltage the blink unit must reverse again to nor

、mal frequency “fg“ at 10 V. 7.2.4.7 Voltage drop The voltage drop is determined between the attachment plugs 49 and 49a after 5 blinkings. It may not exceed following values in the constant current range: Blink unit without trailer operation(4*21W + 1*1.2W at terminal 49a): 300 mV Blink unit with tr

、ailer operation(6*21W + 1*1.2 W at terminal 49a): 450 mV 7.2.4.8 Closed-circuit current consumption The closed-circuit current consumption of the blind unit is measured at the switched-off blink switch in the voltage application to the terminal 49. It may not exceed 10 mA. 7.2.5. Short-circuit stren

、gth In the test circuit according 7.2.4.1, a fuse with 8A nominal current strength is to be inserted before the blink unit. At energizing of the test circuit with a fully charged vehicle battery 12 V, 44 Ah, the blink unit must endure without disturbance a short circuit at the blink lamps until the

Test on water protection The blink unit must satisfy the requirements on the water protection according to DIN 40 050, sheet 9, 02.75, protection type IPX 3 and DIN 40 053, sheet 2, 04.72. At this load, no water may penetrate into the housing and cause

、 a function disturbance of the blink unit. EDS-T-5219BLINK UNIT PAGE: 7/12 ISSUED DATE: 1994. 04. 10 REVISED DATE: 2008. 10. 21 VERSION: 3 GM DAEWOO Auto & Technology 7.5. Drop test For performance of the drop test a trap tower is used as it is sketched on sheet 11. The blink unit is let drop free i

、n the upper boundary. After the drop test is performed 3 times, the function of the blink unit may not be disturbed. 7.6. Mechanical requirements 7.6.1. Mechanical stress of the housing The basic plate of the blink unit must be free from play and firmly arrested in the housing. At withdrawing from t

A pressure or tension force of 100 N 10 N, which influences in longitudinal axis of the flat plug, may not have negative influences on whose fastening or cause deformation of the flat plug. 7.6.3. Plug-in connection The cable set-sided multiple plug must be suitable for the plug arrangem

、ent of the basic plate well contacting. By a suitable material combination of relay plug contact and cable set-sided plug sleeve it must be avoided that electrochemical process occur at the contact point, which cause a destruction of the plug connection. 7.7. Fatigue test For a release-fatigue test

、minimum 20 blink units are necessary. So far as not otherwise determined in the component drawing, following determinations are valid: 7.7.1. Voltage supply At connecting of the voltage supply device according to clause 6.3 it is to pay attention that the current peak value which results at switchin

、g-on of lamps is put at disposal. If necessary, the voltage supply device must be tested through a vehicle battery with a cold start current of minimum 350 A. 7.7.2. Test position The specimens are arranged in mounting position, the plug-in connections are to be provided with the original matching p

、lug. If this is not possible, so the plug formats and line cross sections must be used at replacement solutions. EDS-T-5219BLINK UNIT PAGE: 8/12 ISSUED DATE: 1994. 04. 10 REVISED DATE: 2008. 10. 21 VERSION: 3 GM DAEWOO Auto & Technology 7.7.3. Operation for drive directional indication The fatigue t

、terminal C2 The test duration amounts 200 h, in which the blink units are each 15 s switched on and 15 s switched out. 7.7.4. Operation for warning blink indication The fatigue test of blink units for warning blink indication is to be performed at +235K, 13 V 0.2 V at entrance of the test circuit an

、d with a lamp load of: a) warning blink unit without trailer operation 4*21 W + 1*1.2 W at terminal 49a b) warning blink unit with trailer operation 6*21 W + 1*1.2 W at terminal 49a + 1*1.2 W at terminal C2 The test duration amounts 36 h, in which the blink units are switched-on permanent. 7.7.5. Bl

、ink units which perform both drive directional indication and the warning blinking, must complete the tests according to clause 7.7.3 and 7.7.4. one after the other. 7.7.6. Evaluation of test results After the fatigue test, all tested blink units should satisfy the requirements listed in clause 7.2.

、4.2 to 7.2.4.8. If a blink unit fails completely at the test according to clause 7.7.3 or 7.7.4, so a repeat test is to be performed with 20 new blink units. If 2 or several blink units fail early, so the test is to be broken and the sampling is to be rejected. 8. VEHICLE TEST The blink units must e
