It is Superceded for all future projects and replaced by GMW3172. 1. PURPOSE This standard aims at specifying the requi

3、rements, test conditions and test methods of the clock installed to vehicles manufactured by GMDAT. 2. SCOPE 2.1. This standard applies to clocks for automobiles that indicate the time with a series of numbers (or graphics) on the liquid crystal (hereinafter called “LCD type”) and the fluorescent ch

4、aracter display tube (hereinafter called “VFD Type”) based on the oscillation frequency of the quartz oscillator (or similar oscillating element) as well as those which show the time by the position of pointers. 2.2. This standard also applies to clocks with other special additional functions Ex) te

5、mperature indication, anti-theft display or those inserted to a specific part. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1. General requirements Samples of components released to this standard shall be tested for conformity with the requirements of this standard and approved by GMDAT Technical Center prior to commencement

6、of delivery of bulk supplies. In the event of any intentional deviations from the requirements of this standard or the previously released samples, it is the sole responsibility of the supplier to inform the purchaser unsolicited with a documentation of all such deviations. Upon request the supplier

7、 shall submit samples of the changed version for reapproval by Technical center prior to commencement of delivery of deviant bulk supplies. For new development, the clocks as delivered to EDS-T-5235 shall be free from flaws and faults that affect functions and appearance. Also, the models shall meet

8、 requirements in drawing. 3.2. Marking On a suitable area of the clock, the GMDAT trade mark to EDS-A-0040, the date of manufacture to EDS-A-0012, the part number to EDS-M-0101, the trademark of manufacturer, and the standard symbol of material to EDS-M-0101 for plastic parts as applicable shall be

9、clearly and permanently marked. Also, the symbol of the connecting part and rated operating voltage shall be permanently marked on the back of the housing. 3.3. Time indication 3.3.1. Time indication The indication of figures (pointers) or similar communication symbols shall permit easy and prompt r

10、eading day and night. For details, refer to related drawings. 11、time reading. The time indicated by the pointers shall preferably be consistent when viewed from the drivers seat (or front passenger seat) and from the front to avoid wrong reading by any occupants. 3.3.2. Clock illumination The illumination used shall meet requirements of Technical Delivery Condit

12、ions in EDS-T-5242. For color of illumination, refer to related drawings. Test shall be conducted to EDS-T-5318. When the display is VFD, it shall be operated in linkage with the light switch (Tail S/W “ON”). In case of LCD, requirements of Technical Delivery Conditions for Optical characteristics i

13、n EDS-T-5242 shall be met. The illumination lamp shall be lit up with IGN. S/W in ACC / IGN. Position. For night illumination rate and Rheostat linkage, refer to related drawings. 3.4. Time adjustment The clock indicated by figures shall be provided with Reset switch and switches for time (H) and mi

14、nute (M) adjustment. When the date indicating function is provided, switch for date adjustment shall also be available. For details, refer to related drawings. At each manipulation, the time shall change by1 minute (or hour, date, day of the week, month and year). If the switch is being pressed for

15、1.5 2.0 seconds continuously, the time shall rapidly increase (+) by1 minute (or hour, date, day of the week, month, year). For analog clocks, the switch for the minute hand adjustment shall be provided, which can be operated in both ways (+ & -). In case of a button switch, not a rotary switch, the

16、 clock adjustment switch conditions for indication by figures shall be followed. Each switch shall be free from erroneous operation and shall not preferably be operated by interference or accidental contact. 3.5. Electric characteristics 3.5.1. Current consumption Current consumption of the clock ci

17、rcuit shall not be larger than 150mA under power supply of DC 13.5V(0.1V) with display in operation and 1mA with display not in operation. For analog clocks wit pointers, refer to related drawings. Unless specified otherwise, however, it shall not be larger than 5mA with illumination OFF. 3.5.2. Min

18、imum operating and indication operating voltage For digital clocks, the initial operating voltage shall not be larger than 6V under normal temperature when DC power supply is raised starting from 0V and indication operating voltage shall operate normally from 9V to 16V. Time indication shall not be

19、changed by the voltage curve in the starting process according to DIN-40-839 and EDS-T-5515, Part 2. Analog clock shall also operate normally under normal temperature when DC 6V16V is supplied. 3.5.3. Electric stability When each terminal except for Ground is left for 1 minute being connected to Ear

20、th in the specified connecting state, the sample shall neither show signs of damage nor develop any troubles to affect use. 3.6. Daily time difference (operating accuracy) Daily time difference shall lie within the specified tolerance limits and shall not deviate by more then 1.0 EDS-T-5257PERFORMAN

Operating accuracy shall be determined by measuring the time-proportional driving frequency with a precise electronic counter. In measuring, functions of the vi

22、bration circuit shall not be affected. When measuring the pilot frequency, a separate measuring frequency shall be arranged. 3.6.2. Operating accuracy measuring shall be performed at ambient temperature of -303K 652.5K and voltage of 6V and 16V. For voltage conversion for 1 hour, test temperature sh

23、all be stabilized for 2 hours. 3.6.3. In durability test (clause 5.2.7 of this standard), operating accuracy measuring shall be performed along with durability test. (When required, however, additional durability test may be conducted at voltage of 13.5V0.1V for 180 days. Test at this time shall bas

24、ically be conducted at the normal temperature but temperature may be changed at an interval of 1 day per week within the range of -303K652.5 K for 1 depending on circumstances, with accuracy test performed every 2 months.) Operating accuracy after completion of durability test shall not deviate by m

25、ore than 1.0 sec/day. 3.7. Others When special functions are provided to the clock, test shall be conducted based on this standard by referring to related drawings but the two shall not be mutually affected. In case the clock is inserted to a specific part, test shall be conducted according to test

26、items and conditions for the part. The clock shall not operate erroneously during test and shall meet requirements for accuracy in clause 3.6 (1.0 sec/day). 4. TEST PREPARATION 4.1. Test equipment Test equipment shall conform to the test method and test standards specified in EDS and KS standards. 4

27、.1.1. Dynamic vibration desk equipped with control unit for vibration test 4.1.2. 28、M DAEWOO Auto & Technology consisting of blow for 6 seconds and pause of 15minutes 4.1.3. Variable power supply: Unit = 0 24V, Imin = 6A 4.1.4. Voltmeter: measuring range 0 25V, accuracy class 0.5 4.1.5. DC ammeter: measuring range 0 30A, accuracy class 0.5 4.1.6. Lab oscillograph, number of input c

29、hannels: 2, frequency range: 1MHz Min 4.1.7. Optical reader with graduations for instrument scale and deviation measuring 4.1.8. Spectrum photometer for color control and measuring 4.1.9. Stop watch: 1/100 second, accuracy class 0.5 4.1.10. Alternative test equipment may also be used. However, all m

30、easured variables shall be determined correctly with respect to their physical definition as specified in these technical terms of delivery. 5. TEST PROCEDURES (DIGITAL AND ANALOG TYPE) Unless specified otherwise, all tests shall be performed under normal operating conditions with power supply of DC

31、 13.5V. 5.1. Initial performance test 5.1.1. Daily time difference: Under normal temperature and DC 13.5V, it shall not deviate by more than 1.0 sec/day. 5.1.2. Minimum operating voltage and indication operating voltage: Under normal temperature, 3.5.2 shall be met. 5.1.3. Over voltage protection: W

32、hen DC 24V is applied for 1 minute to the B(+) terminal under normal temperature, the clock shall operate normally without developing any troubles. 5.1.4. Reverse polarity voltage protection: After a reversed polarity DC13.5V is supplied for 1 minute, the clock shall operate normally and daily time

33、difference shall not deviate by more than 1.0 sec/day. 5.2. Weather environment test 5.2.1. Temperature exposure test After performance of 30 cycles with the following as 1 cycle and subsequent exposure to ambient temperature, the clock shall operate normally. and daily time difference shall not dev

Temperature humidity exposure test After exposure to 252, 652 %RH for 240.5Hr and subsequent 5 cycles with the followin

35、g as 1 cycle, the clock shall operate normally. and daily time difference shall not deviate by more than 1.0 sec/day. 5.2.3. Thermal shock test After 3 cycles with “-402Hr 232Hr +801Hr 232Hr” as 1 cycle and subsequent exposure to 80 for 21Hr, the clock shall operate normally. and daily time differen

36、ce shall not deviate by more than 1.0 sec/day 5.2.4. Vibration test Apply vibration to the clock in the normal mounting position according to EDS-T-9321. Vibration frequency is 0.025 1KHz, spectrum acceleration is 4.34m2s-3at 0.025KHz and 0.11 m2s-3at 1KHz, total efficient acceleration is 20 m2s-3an

37、d test time is 24 hours for each space direction (X, Y, Z). After test, no parts shall be loosened or develop any noises and the clock shall meet requirements for appearance and class in this standard and drawings. 5.2.5. Switch durability test After 3,000 cycles (20 30 cycle/minute) of switch ON/OF

38、F manipulation, all functions of the switch including time setting shall be operated normally. Dust test Test shall be conducted using a chamber. Tota

39、l test cycle is 5 cycles. Turn on the instrument illumination10minutes before starting blow and turn it off once this process starts. After test, the clock shall operate normally and manipulation of the time adjustment switch shall be realized normally. Also no pollution by foreign matters shall be

40、present inside the display. 5.2.7. Durability test At accuracy measuring after continuous 1,000 hour operation, the clock shall operate normally and daily time difference shall not deviate by more than 1.0 sec/day. And the display shall not be blurred. At additional request of GMDAT Technical Center
