3、est requirements of paint finishes as commonly used for automobile components. 1.2 Scope. This standard shall be classified into 9 classes according to substrate and does not cover appearance requirements or processing parameters. 1.2.1 A336. Normally applicable to exterior cat parts having a corrod
4、ible substrate, such as unplated cold rolled steel, precoated steel, die cast zinc, aluminum or magnesium. 1.2.2 A168. Normally applicable to chassis suspension components having steel substrates. 1.2.3 A96. Normally applicable to exterior car parts having a bright substrate such as buffed stainless
5、 steel, chromium plated metal or plastic and anodized aluminum. 1.2.4 A0. Normally applicable to exterior car parts having plastic or other nonmetallic substrates. 1.2.5 B336. The test facilities and equipment shall be in good working order and shall have a valid calibration label. 3.1.2 Alternatives. Alternative test facilities and equipment may al
10、so be used. However, all measuring variables as specified in this standard shall be determined correctly with respect to their physical definition. 3.2 Conditions. 3.2.1 Conditioning. Unless otherwise specified, painted samples shall be subjected to the testing after a minimum aging period of 72 hou
11、rs following the baking or drying cycle. A shorter aging period may be used, provided it is recognized that this represents a more severe condition of test and that results obtained at different aging times under 72hours are not a good basic for comparing the relative performance characteristics of
12、paint finishes. 3.2.2 Test Conditions. Deviations from the requirements of this standard shall have been agreed upon. Such requirements shall be specified on component drawings, test certificates, reports, etc. 3.3 Safety. This standard may involve hazardous materials, operations, and equipment. Thi
13、s standard does not propose to address all the safety problems associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. 3.4 Documentation. Samples of com
