PURPOSE This standard shall be used for the determination of the density defined as the quotient of mass and volume. 2. SCOPE This standard applies to the determination of density o

3、f paper, cardboard, fiberboards, chipboard and similar materials. 3. TEST PIECES AND NUMBER OF TEST PIECES 3.1. Test piece should be 2 square which has 1001mm side length. Test pieces shall be taken from various points, equally distributed over the whole area and parallel to an outer edge. 3.2. Numb

4、er of test pieces 3.2.1. For initial sample approval : at least 3 test pieces 3.2.2. For routine quality control : at least 2 test pieces 4. CONDITIONING For initial sample approval purposes and routine quality control, conditioning shall be carried out to EDS-T-7507. 5. APPARATUS 5.1. Thermohygrost

Balance accurate to 1mg 6. PROCEDURE 6.1. The test pieces shall be carried out immediately after conditioning at a temperature o

6、f 235K. 6.2. The thickness shall be measured to EDS-T-7624, 1C at 5 different points. (One in the center, the other four on each diagonal, 35 mm from each corner) 6.3. EVALUATION From the dimensions of the test piece and measured thickness (arithmetical average of 5 points), its volume shall be ca

8、lculated. 7.1. The density shall be calculated as follows. Density (g/cm3) = mass of test piece (g) / volume of test piece (cm3) 8. EXPRESSION OF RESULT With reference to this test method, the density shall be indicated as the arithmetic average of the determined individual values in g/cm3rounded to

9、 the nearest 0.05g/cm3. 9. CODING SYSTEM The density shall be indicated as follows on drawings or material specifications etc. Density to EDS-T-7305 1.1g/cm3min Designation Test method Requirements 10. DEVIATIONS Deviations from the conditions of this method (conditioning, number of test pieces etc.) shall be agreed. These shall be specified on drawings, material specifications and must be indicated in test certificates, reports etc. 11.
