9、5 so that it is in line with the vertical line. 3.1.5 Cold Water Bath. Volume of more than 5.6 liters. 3.1.6 Windshield Steel Plate of about 0.7 mm and heat resistant glass plate of 70 mm in diameter, through which the flask is visible. 3.1.7 Electric Heater, Plate Stand and Hard Asbestos Plate. 3.1
10、.8 Standard Thermometer for high distillation. 3.1.9 Mass Cylinder of 100 ml (with scale divided into 1 ml). 4 Procedures 4.1 Preparation. 4.1.1 Fill the cold water bath with noncombustible cooling agents (ice cube, sodium water, ethylene glycol etc.) 4.1.2 Mount the mess cylinder at the end of cond
11、enser tube. 4.1.3 Pour sample of 100 ml into the flask and mount the thermometer with using cork cover. 4.1.4 In case of a thermometer, the bulb is centered in the neck and the lower end of the capillary is level with the highest point on the bottom of the inner wall of the vapor tube. 4.1.5 Adjust
12、the flask in a vertical position and so that the vapor tube extends into the condenser tube for a distance of 25 to 50 mm. 4.2 Conditions. 4.2.1 Test Conditions. Deviations from the requirements of this standard shall have been agreed upon. Such requirements shall be specified on component drawings,
13、 test certificates, reports, etc. 4.3 Instructions. 4.3.1 Apply heat to the distillation flask. The heating at this stage shall be so regulated that the time interval between the first application of heat and the initial boiling point shall be within 5 ) 15 minutes. 4.3.2 After observing the initial

If condensation continues, read the volume of condensation every 2 minutes to the nearest 0.5 ml and record it as a percentage recovered.
17、4.3.5 Loss may be obtained by subtracting the volume recovered from 100. 5 Data 5.1 Results. 5.1.1 Report all percentages to the nearest 0.5 % and all thermometer readings to the nearest 0.5 E . 5.1.2 Obtain the volume of condensation and loss and thermometer readings corresponding to specified cond

Initial Boiling Point: The thermometer reading that is observed at the instant the first drop of condensate falls from the lower end of the condenser tube. End/Final Boiling Point: The maximum thermomet
20、er reading obtained during the test. Dry Point: The thermometer reading that is observed at the instant the last drop of liquid evaporates from the lowest point in the flask. Decomposition: The thermometer reading that coincides with the first indications of thermal decomposition of the liquid in th
