SCOPE This specification covers requirements for a water borne, black, air/oven drying enamel, suitable to be applied over cleaned cast iron and alloys, prior to machining ope

COMPOSITION Emulsifiable synthetic polymers (modified alkydic cetonic and acrylic emulsion); black pigments (high color retention); plasticizers; balanced, to provide good appearance on painted jobs, even after machining, degreasing, washing operations. The use of non inert pigments, such a
3、s zinc oxide and/or the presence of heavy metals as Cr, Pb, Cd, Ni, etc, is not allowed. 6、; 300 %m /minute at 70 ATM; heating unit (I .O00 W), able to reach temperature up to 120C. (Normally two wet coats to reach specified dry film build). 5. DRYING 5.1. - AIR DRYING: Tack Free - 20 minutes To handle - 12 hours Dry hard - 168 hours 5.2. - OVEN DRYING: - Flash off - 10 minutes Baking - 1
7、5 minutes; 85 - 90C. 6. FILM THICKNESS: 40 - 60 ym. (ASTM D 1400187) 7. PAINTED PRODUCT REQUIREMENTS Cold rolled steel panels (300 x 100 mm aprox.), are painted with black enamel, on specified film thickness (6), baked as 5.2.; and aged for 168 hs before start testing. 7.1. - COLOR:. (ASTM D 523/89) (ASTM D 3359/92, Method B) 7.4. - FUEL EXPOSURE RESISTANCE: Painted specimens,
9、 after recommended aging,shall withstand the following test: Cleaned beackers of k 300 - 400 ml , are half filled with Regular Gasoline and Ethanol (as released to regular use on gas stations). Painted panels are then immersed for ten times, in each of these fuels, during IO seconds (R.T.), with a 2
10、0 seconds dry off period between each dip. After total cycle, specimens are let to dry off, and painted surface shall not show.any loss of gloss, strong discolouration, wrinkling, blistering, etc. Slight softening is allowed, since the film returns to its original condition in 24 hs maximun, after t
11、esting. 7.5. - OIL RESISTANCE: Painted panels, immersed in SAE 20 w 50 engine oil, during 7 hours, at 70 - 75“C, shall not show any significant surface change, as pointed on item 7.4. 7.6. - CORROSION CREEPBACK RESISTANCE: ( GM 9102 P - For Scribing procedure ; GM 4298 P - To Conduct Salt.Spray Test
12、 - ASTM - D 1654 - 92 item 7.3 - For Rating results ) 96 hours exposition, without loss of adhesion, blistering, or rust creepback beyond 3 mm of the scribed line. (rate 6 minimum) 7.7. - In addtion to above referred requirements, material shall be submitted to a prior production trial, to evaluate
13、its intrinsical performance, on and after machining operations, as well as subsequently alkaly degreasing, and final washing. 8. Safety and environmental information shall be submitted to Purchasing Dept. on special forms, related to safety and hazardous properties.
