I

7、t is founded onbroad-based principles that make possible the use of new materials and new energy-efficientdesigns. This 2018 edition is fully compatible with all of the International Codes(I-Codes) pub-lished by the International Code Council(ICC), including the International Building Code, Interna-

Each set of provisions, IECCCommercial Provi-sions and IECCResidential Provisions, is separately applied to buildings within its respective scope. Each set of provisions is to be treated separately. Each contains a Scope and Administration chapter,a Definitions chapter, a General Requirements c

Most industry professionals ar

However, the impact of the codes extends well beyond the regulatory arena, as they are used in a variety ofnonregulatory settings, including: Voluntary compliance programs such as th

It provides an international forum for discussion and deliberationabout building design, construction methods, safety, performance requirements, technologicaladvances and innovative products.DevelopmentThis 2018 edition presents the code as originally issued, with changes reflected

17、 in the 2000 through2015 editions and further changes approved through the ICC Code Development Process through2017. A new edition such as this is promulgated every 3 years.iv 2018 INTERNATIONAL ENERGY CONSERVATION CODEThis code is founded on principles intended to establish provisions consistent wi

The ICC process is open to anyone; there is no cost toparticipate, and people can participate without travel cost through the ICCs cloud-based app, cdp-Access. The IECCCommer-cial Provisions (sections designated with a “C” prior to the section number) are primarily maintainedby the Commercial Energy Code Development Committee. The IECCResidential Provisions (sec-tions designated w

This is designated in the chapter headings by a CE and RE,respectively.Maintenance responsibilities for the IECC are designated as follows:CE = International Commercial Energy Conservation Cod

To make sure that each individual code is as complete as pos-sible, some technical provisions that are relevant to more than one subject area are duplicated insome of the model codes. Th

45、n Code (IECC) is a model code that regulates minimum energyconservation requirements for new buildings. The IECC addresses energy conservation require-ments for all aspects of energy uses in both commercial and residential construction, includingheating and ventilating, lighting, water heating, and

46、power usage for appliances and building sys-tems. The IECC is a design document. For example, before one constructs a building, the designer mustdetermine the minimum insulation R-values and fenestration U-factors for the building exteriorenvelope. Depending on whether the building is for residentia

These scopes are based on the definitions of “Commercial building” and “Residentialbuilding,” respectively, in Chapter 2 of each set of provisions.
