T-30-520 VERTICAL TRAY 70,00O*BTU/HR FLAME TEST PROCEDURE FOR CABLES 1.0 SCOPE: 1.1 THIS FLAME TEST SHALL BE CONDUCTED TO DETERMINE RELATIVE RESISTANCE TO FLAME PROPAGATION UNDER SPECIFIED TEST CONDITIONS FOR A GIVEN CABLE CONSTRUCTION. 1.2 THE ABILITY
6、OF A CABLE TO RESIST PROPAGATION TO THE TOP OF THE TRAY DOES NOT GUARANTEE THAT PROPAGATION OF THAT SAME CABLE CANNOT OCCUR UNDER INSTALLED CONDITIONS DURING AN ACTUAL FIRE NOR DOES IT PRECLUDE THE NEED FOR OTHER FIRE SUPPRESSIVE SYSTEMS. 2.0 SUMMARY OF METHOD: 2.1 MULTIPLE LENGTHS OF CABLES ARE ATT

AT THE END OF THE TEST THE AMOUNT OF BURN DAMAGE TO THE CABLES IS DETERMINED. 3.0 FLAME TEST FACILITY: 3.1 TEST SHALL BE CONDUCTED IN A NATURALLY VENTILATED ROOM, OR AN ENCLOSURE, FREE FROM EXCESS DRAFT
8、S AND SPURIOUS AIR CURRENTS. DURING OPERATION THERE SHOULD BE SUFFICIENT VENTILATION SO THAT BURNING IS NOT LIMITED BY A BUILD-UP OF COMBUSTION PRODUCTS OR BY A DEARTH OF MAKE-UP AIR. 4.0 TEST EQUIPMENT: 4.1 THE TEST TRAY SHALL BE A VERTICAL LADDER TYPE STEEL TRAY 12 INCHES WIDE BY 8 FEET LONG. GAS AND AIR FLOW METERS WILL BE USED AND MUST MEET THE SPECIFIED LIMITS DETERMINED BY THE TEST SET-UP. THE GAS SHALL BE NATU
