9、Cold finished bars are classified by chemistry and identified by SAE/ASTM steel grade designation. 6.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS Material supplied shall meet the applicable requirements of ASTM A29. 6.1 Chemical Composition Bars purchased to this specification shall conform to the required analysis for t
10、he appropriate steel in CEMS A-O, Part I, Chemical Composition of International Standard Steels. Steels with an “SR”, “SS” or “SSA” suffix shall have the same chemical composition as those without a suffix. 4145 SS and 4145 SSA shall meet the chemical composition requirements for SAE 4145, except th
11、e carbon content shall be 0.40-0.50 percent with lead, tin, or tellurium additions permissible. International “50” and International “50” SR high strength-low alloy steel shall conform to the required analysis for Type 50 steel per CEMS A-43, High Strength - Low Alloy Steels. 6.1.1 The most readily
12、available cold drawn steels are 1018 and 1045. Effort should be made to standardize on these grades. 6.2 Mechanical Properties Mechanical properties for as cold drawn bars are not guaranteed, nor are those for turned and polished or turned, ground, and polished bars which have properties of hot roll
13、ed bars. See “Appendix - General Information.” Required tensile properties for cold drawn, stress relieved steel bars are shown in Table I. The bars shall be commercially free from injurious defects and shall have a smooth bright surfac
29、e consistent with the method of cold finishing. 8.0 METHODS OF TEST Perform the tensile test according to ASTM A 370. 9.0 SOURCE APPROVAL AND QUALITY CONTROL 9.1 Supplier Requirements Suppliers must conform to the requirements of the International IQR Quality Standard which includes conformance to t
30、he QS-9000 (IS0 9001) Quality System Standard. A mutually acceptable Quality Control Plan as described therein is required for source approval to the requirements of this specification. 9.2 Approval Parts supplied against contracts or purchase orders citing this specification shall be equivalent in
31、all respects to those samples which were approved by the purchaser. No changes in formulation or processing practices are permitted without approval. In the event that changes in material, properties, processing practices, construction, color, or labeling of the product are required, the supplier sh
32、all notify Materials Engineering at TDTC and Purchasing and Supplier Development of the proposed change(s). Test data indicating conformance to all requirements of this specification, test samples, and new or amended or updated Material Safety Data Sheet(s) (MSDS), in accordance with CFR Title 29, P

35、perform and report results of tests on specific lots of parts produced or provide statistical evidence of the lot having been produced in a state of statistical control and with a process capable of providing all required properties. The part supplier and the plant metallurgist and/or the quality co
36、ntrol manager of the using International plant may determine testing and reporting requirements on specific products. 37、ings, it is desirable to allow as many options as possible at the manufacturing level and still insure proper engineering performance. A system of coding steels to accomplish these objectives was established and is covered in CEMS A-O, Part II, International system of Steel Classification. It is rec
38、ommended that this coding system be used whenever possible. See “Choice of Tables” in A-O, Part II. for critical parts where the freedom of a code cannot be permitted, a specific steel grade should be used. Ordinarily, no reference to A-2 is made on the drawing except for steels with special propert
