5、LLOWABLE DAMAGE The figures shown above are representations of Figures 4B, 4A, and 2A of the SAE Chipping Rating Standards EA-400. Chipping damage more severe than that shown in a figure should be reported as less than that figure number, i.e., 4B, or 4A, or 2A. Damage more severe then that shown in
6、 the figure is a failure criteria for those painted products whose material specifications reference this specification and one of these Figure numbers, to describe the minimum allowable amount of paint retention, after gravelometer testing. 9、 gage) or 3.5 mm. Engineering drawing-painted part requirement will be to CEMS G-5 and/or TMS-9009. Figure 4A is applicable to all painted sheet metal and thermoplastic parts having thickness less than 0.142 inch, (9 gage) or 3.5 mm. Engineering drawing-painted part requirement will be to CEMS G-5 a
10、nd/or TMS-9008 and/or TMS-9009. Figure 2A is applicable to all painted fiberglass reinforced-plastic (FRP) parts. Engineering drawing-painted part requirement will be to CEMS G-5 and/or TMS-9005. 4.0 REPORT Report whether the paint passes or fails this test.
