5、e types of lubricants suitable for use in mobile air conditioning systems. Two of these are compatible with the HFC-134a refrigerant and the third is compatible with the discontinued R-12 refrigerant. These lubricants are used for factory fill, assembly applications, and in service applications. 1.1
6、 Type I: A mineral oil based lubricant compatible with R-12 refrigerant and commonly used as the compressor service oil in A/C systems using R-12 refrigerant. It is also commonly used as a lubricant for O-rings in the A/C fitting assemblies for both R-12 and HFC-134a refrigerant systems. 1.2 Type II
7、: A Polyal ester based synthetic lubricant that is compatible with HFC-134a refrigerant and is used only as a compressor oil in factory fill and service applications. 1.3 Type III: A Polyalkylene Glycol (PAG) based synthetic lubricant that is compatible with HFC-134a refrigerant and is used only as
8、a compressor oil in factory fill and service applications. 2.0 SCOPE This specification covers requirements for physical properties, source approval procedure, quality control, packaging and identification and approved sources of supply. 2.1 Restricted Chemical Substances Effective January 1, 2007,
9、all product supplied to the requirements of this specification must comply with the requirements of the CEMS B-50 specification. 3.0 REFERENCE DOCUMENTS Unless otherwise specified the latest issue of all referenced standards shall apply. AUGUST 2009 Page 2 of 4 4.0 PROPERTY REQUIREMENTS 4.1 General Lubricants purchased to this specification shall consist of suitably refined base stocks fortified with additiona
13、l functional additives as may be necessary to meet the requirements of this specification. 4.2 Material supplied shall meet all requirements of this specification. A written report certifying conformance to all requirements shall be provided before submitting samples for evaluation. The vendor shall
14、 demonstrate compatibility of his lubricant with all applicable system materials, including but not limited to, elastomers*, desiccants*, plastics and coatings. * Elastomeric materials shall be obtained from the appropriate manufacturers. The materials shall include: TMS-6021, Type V tube material,
15、o-rings, and seal materials. Please contact Materials Engineering at Truck Development and Technology Center for more information. * Desiccant materials shall be obtained from UOP, Molecular Sieves, 25 E. Algonquin Road, Des Plaines, IL 60017-5017. 4.3 Material supplied shall be suitable for the use
16、 intended, be manufactured with good commercial practice, and shall exhibit no objectionable odor. No re-refined base stocks shall be used. 23、ufacturers. 5.4 A summary of field test data. 5.5 Material Safety Data Sheet and complete physical and chemical properties. 5.6 Suppliers certification that the candidate lubricant meets all requirements of this specification. 6.0 SOURCE APPROVAL AND QUALITY CONTROL 6.1 Supplier Requirements All sup
24、pliers to Navistar are required to be registered to ISO 9001 Quality System Requirements. Navistar will also accept TS-16949 registration as long as the supplier can also fulfill all AIAG PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation and approval requirements. Suppliers must maintain their c
25、ertification with an accredited registrar and must furnish copies of registration certificates to their Navistar Corporate Buyer upon request 6.2 Approval Parts supplied against contracts or purchase orders citing this specification shall be equivalent in all respects to those samples, which were ap
26、proved by the purchaser. No changes in formulation or processing practices are permitted without approval. In the event that changes occur in material properties, processing practices, or labeling, the supplier shall notify Materials Engineering at TDTC and Navistar Purchasing and Supplier Developme
27、nt of the proposed change(s). Test data indicating conformance to all requirements of this specification, test samples, and new/amended/updated Material Safety Data Sheet(s) (MSDS), in accordance with CFR Title 29, Section 1910, shall be submitted with the request for change. 6.3 Process Control The
28、 supplier shall either perform and report results of tests on specific lots of parts produced using ISO 9001 or TS-16949 guidelines, or provide statistical evidence of the lot having been produced in a state of statistical control and with a process capable of providing all required properties. The
29、part supplier and the plant metallurgist and/or the quality control manager of the using NAVISTAR plant may determine testing and reporting requirements on specific products. 7.0 SHIPPING, PACKING AND IDENTIFICATION Packaging and identification shall be in accordance with Manufacturing Standard MS-D
30、-13. When delivered in tank car or tank truck quantities, the material shall be accompanied by documents clearly indicating the Navistar designation, name of supplier, formula or code number, batch number, and date of manufacture. 7.1 When delivered in smaller bulk quantities, such as 208 liter (55
31、gallon) drums, the material shall be shipped in containers clearly marked with the International designation, name of supplier, formula or code number, batch number, and date of manufacture. Markings shall be at least 25 mm (1 in) high. 7.2 When packaged for retail sale, the material shall be suppli
32、ed in containers that have been approved by the Parts Marketing Division of the Parts Operation at Cantera, in Warrenville, Illinois.
