Q.1741.4 (10/2005) i ITU-T Recommendation Q.1741.4 IMT-2000 references to release 6 of GSM evolved UMTS core network Summary This Recommendation identifies a release of the IMT-2000 Family Member, “GSM evolved UMTS Core Network“. This relea

6、se of the Family Member is known to the Standards Development Organizations (i.e., ARIB, CCSA, ETSI, ATIS, TTA, TTC) as the “3GPP Release 6“. Earlier releases, known as “3GPP Release 99“, “3GPP Release 4“, and “3GPP Release 5“, of this Family Member are specified in ITU-T Recs Q.1741.1, Q.1741.2, an

7、d Q.1741.3, respectively, while other IMT-2000 Family Members are specified in other Recommendations in the Q.174x series. This Recommendation combines and associates the relevant standards from a number of Standards Development Organizations for the core network for this IMT-2000 Family Member into

8、 a global Recommendation. Source ITU-T Recommendation Q.1741.4 was approved on 29 October 2005 by ITU-T Study Group 19 (2005-2008) under the ITU-T Recommendation A.8 procedure. 9、he International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is the United Nations specialized agency in the field of telecommunications. The ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) is a permanent organ of ITU. ITU-T is responsible for studying technical, operating and tariff questions and issuing Re

10、commendations on them with a view to standardizing telecommunications on a worldwide basis. The World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA), which meets every four years, establishes the topics for study by the ITU-T study groups which, in turn, produce Recommendations on these topics. T

11、he approval of ITU-T Recommendations is covered by the procedure laid down in WTSA Resolution 1. In some areas of information technology which fall within ITU-Ts purview, the necessary standards are prepared on a collaborative basis with ISO and IEC. NOTE In this Recommendation, the expression “Admi

12、nistration“ is used for conciseness to indicate both a telecommunication administration and a recognized operating agency. Compliance with this Recommendation is voluntary. However, the Recommendation may contain certain mandatory provisions (to ensure e.g., interoperability or applicability) and co

13、mpliance with the Recommendation is achieved when all of these mandatory provisions are met. The words “shall“ or some other obligatory language such as “must“ and the negative equivalents are used to express requirements. The use of such words does not suggest that compliance with the Recommendatio

14、n is required of any party. This release of the Family Member is known to the Standards Development Organizations (i.e., ARIB, CCSA, ETSI, ATIS, TTA, TTC

37、) as the “3GPP Release 6“. The Core Network interfaces identified in this Recommendation and the radio interfaces and radio access interfaces which are identified in ITU-R Rec. M.1457 1 constitute a complete system specification for the 3rd generation mobile system for terrestrial usage of this IMT-

38、2000 Family Member. It is the intent of the ITU-T that the references in this Recommendation are only to specifications that specify the network aspects of this IMT-2000 Family Member. In the event that a referenced specification also includes material that specifies any of the radio aspects of this

39、 IMT-2000 family member, ITU-R Rec.
