In recognition of these possible differences, the sizes and tolerance ranges used were established in an effort to

10、 are not recommended for use on soft materials, oversize, or elongated holes. For high strength joints where there is sufficient clearance and proper pre-load can be applied, hardened plain washers should be used. Metric helical spring lock washers in this standard approximate the “Inch Regular Seri

This must be handled internally at individual plants where needed and is meant to be supplemental to the normal finish and easily deleted when the need for supplemental identification no longer exists. The supplemental blue color should not be used
17、 on material such as stainless steel when specified for cosmetic purposes, or phosphate coating which may cause a loss of color identity. 7.0 METHOD OF DESIGNATION: Washers will be designated on purchase orders by nominal diameter, word description, material, finish and part number. 5 mm, Helical Sp
18、ring Lock Washer, Steel, ZN6A, Part Number 8.0 POLICY FOR SELECTING PARTS FOR NEW DESIGN: Approved parts are so designated to reduce the variety of parts and assure maximum availability, interchangeability, and cost savings. For new design, parts shall be selected from “Approved“ part list only. Nom
19、inal Sizes: 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16, 20 mm Material: Hardened Spring Steel (STL) Finish: Zinc Trivalent (ZN6A) 9.0 SHAPE: The helical spring lock washers will be evenly wound with uniform pitch and during use the washers will remain circular and their section will be such as not to cause them to s
20、pread when set down by a nut, under normal service conditions. 10.0 MANUFACTURING DETAIL: Washers will be coiled such that the free height is approximately twice the thickness of the washer section. The flat faces and inner and outer peripheries will be smooth and free from knurling, serration, die
21、marks, deep scratches, etc., although slight feed roll marks will be permissible. 11.0 MATERIAL: Carbon steel washers will be made from lock washer wire meeting the limits of decarburization shown below. They will be heat treated to a Rockwell Hardness of C 44-51. The washers will be prepared for ch
22、ecking material hardness by grinding both sides flat and parallel to assure the removal of a decarburized or plated surface. 26、t. 12.0 FINISHES: Washers are furnished plain, plated, or coated in accordance with MPAPS and class listed below: Zinc Trivalent (ZN6A) MPAPS G-20, Class 6A. Phosphate Coated (PHC) MPAPS G-1, Class B2. The determinant of plating thickness will be the thickness of plating on the flat surface of the w
27、asher approximately midway between the inside and outside diameters. Because of the high degree of strength and hardness, plated spring lock washers must be heated at a temperature sufficiently high and for a period sufficiently long to relieve possible hydrogen embrittlement. 13.0 RESTRICTED CHEMIC
28、AL SUBSTANCES: Effective January 1, 2007, all product supplied to the requirements of this specification must comply with the requirements of the MPAPS B-50 specification. 14.0 SHORT LOAD TEST: Spring lock washers will withstand being compressed flat for a period of two minutes by the application of
29、 the test load specified in table below. When the load is released, the height of the lock washer must not be less than the specified minimum. 15.0 PROLONGED LOAD TEST: Electroplated lock washers will be subjected to the prolonged load test. Ten spring washers assembled on a pin and separated from e
30、ach other by a flat washer must withstand being compressed by the test load specified below for 48 hours without fracturing. When twisted to fracture, the fraction will show a fine grain and the washer will have a tough springy reaction up to the instant of fracture
34、. 17.0 WORKMANSHIP: The surface of spring lock washers will be smooth and free from burrs, rust, pit marks, loose scale, and other defects that might affect their serviceability. The gap and relationship of severed ends will be such as to prevent washers tangling and to assure all washers will compr
