5、types of PVC (or copolymers) tape, with a pressure-sensitive coating. 1.1 Type IA is used for insulating electrical splices 1.2 Type IB is used to hold wires and conduit together and is not used to insulate electrical splices. 1.3 Type II is used in special applications where a heavier tape is requi
6、red. 1.4 Type III is made in colors, used for color coding, and is not a suitable substitute for Types I or II. 2.0 SCOPE This specification covers general property and performance requirements, quality control and approved sources, and approved sources for four (4) grades of tapes. 2.1 Restricted C

15、.2.1 Chemical Resistance: These tapes shall have resistance to air, water, acid, alkali, gasoline and corrosive chemicals, and shall have fire retardant qualities. Test per ASTM D 1000. 4.2.2 Humidity 4.2.2.1 Method Test prepared tape wrapped samples per ASTM D 2247, for 500 hours exposure. 4.2.2.2

Test method is as follows: 16 hours 70C 2C (160F 3.6F) 3 hours 25C 2C (-13F 3.6F) 3 hours 100C 2C (212F 3.6F) 2 hours stabiliza
18、tion at 23C 2C (73F 3.6F) Repeat 24 hour cycle 5 times 4.2.3.2 Required Tape should maintain sufficient holding strength. 4.2.4 Corrosion 4.2.4.1 Method Test pre determined tape wrapped samples to ASTM B117 salt spray test. 4.2.4.2 Required Tape should maintain sufficient holding strength. 5.0 QUALI
19、TY All product supplied shall be clean and free from dirt, oils, sharp edges, or defects harmful to product performance. 5.1 Qualification Qualification of new sources, in advance of production, is required. Test samples of the new tape product shall be submitted for laboratory analysis and testing.
20、 The test samples shall be accompanied by a laboratory report covering all requirements of this specification. 22、uired to be registered to ISO 9001 Quality System Requirements. Navistar will also accept TS-16949 registration as long as the supplier can also fulfill all AIAG PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation and approval requirements. Suppliers must maintain their certification with an accre
23、dited registrar and must furnish copies of registration certificates to their Navistar Corporate Buyer upon request. 25、 the purchaser. No changes in formulation or processing practices are permitted without approval. In the event that changes in material, properties, processing practices, construction, color, or labeling of the product are required, the supplier shall notify Materials Engineering, TDTC and Purchasin
26、g and Supplier Development, of the proposed change(s). Test data indicating conformance to all requirements of this specification, test samples, and new or amended or updated Material Safety Data Sheet(s) (MSDS), in accordance with CFR Title 29, Part 1910 shall be submitted with the request for chan
27、ge. 6.3 Process Control The supplier shall either perform and report results of tests on specific lots of parts produced using ISO 9001 or TS-16949 guidelines, or provide statistical evidence of the lot having been produced in a state of statistical control and with a process capable of providing al
28、l required properties. The part supplier and the plant metallurgist and/or the quality control manager of the using Navistar plant may determine testing and reporting requirements on specific products. 7.0 SHIPPING, PACKING AND IDENTIFICATION Packing, shipping, and identification will be in accordan
29、ce with Manufacturing Standard D-13. 8.0 DESIGNATION ON DRAWINGS Include both width and type when specifying or ordering these tapes. When Type III is selected, the color shall be included.
