5、holes in truck door panels. 2.0 SCOPE This specification covers the general requirements, property and performance requirements, quality, packaging, storage and identification, source approval and quality control. 2.1 Restricted Chemical Substances Effective January 1, 2007, all product supplied to
6、the requirements of this specification must comply with the requirements of the CEMS B-50 specification. 3.0 REFERENCE DOCUMENTS Unless otherwise specified, the latest issue of all referenced standards shall apply. 8、er tape shall be a tough, general purpose, heat resistant type treated with a saturant and a pressure sensitive synthetic rubber resin adhesive. The tape shall have the capability of withstanding oven temperatures of 138C (280F) for one hour. The tape shall have long aging qualities and be water res
9、istant. The adhesive shall be formulated for high tack characteristics. 4.2 Thickness 0.17 mm (0.0065 in) minimum. DECEMBER 2009 Page 2 of 4 4.3 Property and Performance Requirements 4.3.1 Tensile Strength and Elongation 4.3.1.1 Method ASTM D 1000 - The stressing jaw speed shall be constant and at the rate of 300 13 mm (12 1/2 i
11、n) per minute. Specimen shall be 25 mm (1 in) in width. 4.3.1.2 Required Tensile Strength: 14.5 MPa (2 100 psi) minimum. Elongation: 9% minimum. 4.3.2 Tear Strength 4.3.2.1 Method ASTM D 1938 4.3.2.2 Required 0.88 N/cm (8 ozf/in) width minimum 4.3.3 Peel Strength 4.3.3.1 Method ASTM D 1000 - Apply t
12、ape to panels: 1) steel-plain, 2) steel-painted, 3) aluminum-plain, 4) aluminum-painted. Allow to age for one hour before performing test. 4.3.3.2 Required Tape shall meet 4.38 N/cm (2.5 lbf/in) width minimum peel strength to plain or painted surface on each type of panel. 4.3.4 Heat Aging 4.3.4.1 M
13、ethod Mount tape on steel or aluminum panel with painted and unpainted surfaces and age for one hour at 138C (280F), then return to room temperature before inspection. Inspect visually. 4.3.4.2 Required No loss of adhesion, embrittlement or loss of water resistant qualities. 4.3.5 Resistance to Corr
14、osive Atmosphere 4.3.5.1 Method Two steel panels 30 cm x 30 cm x 1.6 mm (12 x 12 x 1/16 in) with 1.3 cm (1/2 in) diameter holes drilled 10 cm (4 in) apart over the entire panel. Apply tape completely covering the panel and holes overlapping the tape 3 mm (1/8 in). Perform corrosion testing as specif
15、ied per ASTM B 117 for a total of 96 hours. 4.3.5.2 Required No visible permeation of the corrosive atmosphere shall be exhibited when the tape is removed from the surface it was protecting, indicating the tape is water resistant and not corrosive to the metal surface it contacts. Also, there shall
16、be no visible loss of adhesion of the tape from the metal panel or around the perimeter of the drilled access holes. 4.3.6 Chemical Resistance 4.3.6.1 Method Apply tape to steel and aluminum panels and immerse individual panels in window wash solvent, car washing detergent and SAE Multi-Grade oil fo
17、r two hours. 4.3.6.2 Required No visible loss of adhesion, bubbling, shrinking, or disintegration of the mounted specimen. DECEMBER 2009 Page 3 of 4 4.3.7 Cold Resistance 4.3.7.1 Method TMS-7084 (Cold Impact Resistance) - Part to be mounted to exterior surface of slam panel without the use of the slam bar; test according to Figu
19、re 1. 4.3.7.2 Required There shall be no visible loss of adhesion when impact tests are executed. 4.4 Application The tape shall have the ability to be used effectively over a relatively clean surface wiped with a clean shop towel. The adhesive shall have the required flexibility and be aggressive e
20、nough to be applied at 20C (66F) with full adhesion. 4.4.1 The tape shall meet the production installation requirements for a satisfactory application before final approval is granted. 5.0 QUALIFICATION Material and processes submitted for approval to this specification shall include the following:
21、5.1 A detailed, signed test report documenting testing to this specification per TMS-9543. 5.2 Test coupons or photographs showing failure modes for each test. 5.3 The complete procedure used for preparing and curing materials for test, especially surface preparation and condition of the test specim

23、fication shall be uniform in color and density, free from pin holes and foreign matter. 7.0 SOURCE APPROVAL AND QUALITY CONTROL 7.1 Supplier Requirements All suppliers to Navistar Inc. are required to be registered to ISO 9001 Quality System Requirements. Navistar will also accept TS-16949 registrat
24、ion as long as the supplier can also fulfill all AIAG PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation and approval requirements. Suppliers must maintain their certification with an accredited registrar and must furnish copies of registration certificates to their Navistar Corporate Buyer upon
25、request. 7.2 Approval Parts supplied against contracts or purchase orders citing this specification shall be equivalent in all respects to those samples which were approved by the purchaser. No changes in formulation or processing practices are permitted without approval. In the event that changes i

28、e to all requirements of this specification, test samples, and new or amended or updated Material Safety Data Sheet(s) (MSDS), in accordance with CFR Title 29, Part 1910 shall be submitted with the request for change. 7.3 Process Control The supplier shall either perform and/or report results of tes
29、ts on specific lots of parts produced using ISO 9001 or TS-16949 guidelines, or provide statistical evidence of the lot having been produced in a state of statistical control and with a process capable of providing all required properties. The part supplier and the plant metallurgist and/or the qual
30、ity control manager of the using Navistar plant may determine testing and reporting requirements on specific products. 8.0 SHIPPING, PACKING AND IDENTIFICATION Loading, packing, and identification shall be in accordance with Manufacturing Std. MS-D-13. 8.1 Packaging The tape shall be 5 cm (2 in) wid
31、e and wrapped around a cardboard core having an inside diameter of 7.5 cm (3 in) or 17.5 cm (7 in), unless otherwise specified by the using manufacturing plant. The core shall be of sufficient rigidity to prevent collapse of the roll under the winding tension necessary to produce a tight wrap and fo
32、r ease in handling during production application. The tape shall be so rolled that the edges are not folded over, and the length shall be continuous. The tape roll shall be suitably identified on the cardboard core to indicate the tape width, product description, date of manufacture, and manufacture
