4、, or urethane films. These films may have a pressure sensitive adhesive applied to the reverse side. They are intended for use on interior trim surfaces where a wood grain effect is desired. 2.0 SCOPE This specification covers the material requirements, physical properties, performance requirements,
5、 quality, source approval and quality control, packaging, and approved sources for the six types. 2.1 Type I is a vinyl film. 2.2 Type II DELETED Type II is replaced by Type 1 of TMS-4517. 2.3 Type III is a formed film intended for curved or molded applications. 2.4 Type IV DELETED Type IV is replac

10、t conform to color, gloss, texture and/or printed pattern of the master samples of the pre-production material originally approved and on file in the Truck Development and Technology Center (TDTC) Industrial Design Department. 4.1.1 Gloss The film will exhibit a 60 gloss value of 90 minimum, unless
11、otherwise indicated on the engineering print or with written approval of Truck Development and Technology Center (TDTC) Industrial Design Department, when measured in accordance with CEMS GT-6B. In all cases, the maximum loss of gloss shall be 20 points, after exposure to the ultraviolet and condens
12、ing humidity exposures listed in the Table on page 3. 4.1.2 Orange Peel The film will exhibit a min orange peel rating of 3.0 as measured in accordance with CEMS GT-29. 4.2 Adhesive When specified as a pressure-sensitive film for plant application, an adhesive shall be uniformly applied to the backs
13、ide of the film and the adhesive will meet all requirements of this specification. It shall have a low initial tack and shall not corrode or etch the surface to which the film is applied. It shall have sufficient bond strength to permit normal handling immediately after application. 4.3 Release Back
14、ing The adhesive shall be protected with an easy release, moisture-resistant liner. The backing liner shall have sufficient strength to protect the adhesive film during shipment and handling, and it shall not break, tear, chip, or peel. The liner shall release evenly and cleanly during removal from

25、.3 Abrasion Resistance 4.5.3.1 Method: Taber Abrader per ASTM D3884; CS-10 wheel with a 500 g load for 500 cycles. 4.5.3.2 Required: There shall be no appreciable effect on pattern or color in the abraded area and the weight change of the sample shall not exceed 0.200 grams. 4.5.4 Flammability Resis
26、tance Must meet the requirements of TMS-9544 and FMVSS 302. 5.0 QUALIFICATION Material and processes submitted for approval to this specification shall include the following: 5.1 Report A detailed, signed test report documenting testing to this specification prepared per TMS-9543. 5.2 Test Samples T
27、est coupons or photographs showing failure modes for each test. 5.3 Test Procedure The complete test procedure including the procedures used for preparing and curing materials for test, including surface preparation and condition of the test coupons. 5.4 Adhesives A description of the adhesive, subs
28、trate(s), and any chemicals/primers used for bonding or surface preparation, shall be included in the report. 5.5 Special Graphics This requirement is applicable when special graphics are specified on instrument panels and/or switch plates. The Engineering drawing for the part shall specify location
29、 of the graphic, text (content), and size of type. Background color and style, and type/style and color of printing shall be as agreed upon between the supplier and the Industrial Design Department at TDTC. 6.0 SOURCE APPROVAL AND QUALITY CONTROL 6.1 Supplier Requirements All suppliers to Internatio
30、nal Truck and Engine are required to be registered to QS-9000 Quality System Requirements. International will also accept ISO 9000 or TS-16949 registration as long as the supplier can also fulfill all AIAG PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation and approval requirements. Suppliers mus
31、t maintain their certification with an accredited registrar and must furnish copies of registration certificates to their International Corporate Buyer upon request. 6.2 Approval Parts supplied against contracts or purchase orders citing this specification shall be equivalent in all respects to thos
32、e samples which were approved by the purchaser. No changes in formulation or processing practices are permitted without approval. In the event that changes in material, properties, processing practices, construction, color, or labeling of the product are required, the supplier shall notify Materials
33、 Engineering, TDTC and International Purchasing and Supplier Development of the proposed change(s). Test data indicating conformance to all requirements of this specification, test samples, and new or amended or updated Material Safety Data Sheet(s) (MSDS), in accordance with CFR Title 29, Part 1910
34、 shall be submitted with the request for change. 6.3 Process Control The supplier shall either perform and report results of tests on specific lots of parts produced or provide statistical evidence of the lot having been produced in a state of statistical control and with a process capable of provid
