2、ption. Abstract. This Commercial Item Description covers a 12 volt, 130 ampere-hour sealed, valve-regulated lead-acid (VRLA), storage battery with a high rate and shallow discharge duty cycle for use on Naval surface ships. Salient characteristics. The product shall be a 12 volt, 130 ampere-hour sea
3、led lead-acid storage battery, meeting the requirements specified below. 1. Dimensions. The maximum dimensions for the 12 volt battery shall be: length - 21.3 inches width - 11.1 inches height - 10.9 inches 2. Weisht. The battery weight shall be 132 pounds maximum when filled. 3. Terminals. The term
4、inals shall be posts with lugs capable of receiving a round end lug accepting an AWG #O000 cable. 6、lve. The battery shall have sufficient pressure relief valves to prevent rupturing of the battery when internal pressure exceed battery design pressure. 5. Capacity. a. The capacity for the 13 ampere (or 10 hour) rate shall be a minimum of 130 ampere-hours with a cut-off voltage of 10.5 volts in the
7、 temperature range of 20“ to 27“ C. b. The capacity for the 42.5 ampere (or 2 hour) rate shall be a minimum of 85 ampere-hours with a cut-off voltage of 9.6 volts in the temperature range of 20“ to 27“ C. c. The capacity for the 312 ampere (or 5 minute) rate shall be a minimum of 26 ampere-hours wit
8、h a cut-off voltage of 7.2 volts in the temperature range of 20“ to 27“ C. 6. Reserve capacity. The battery shall deliver 25 amperes for a minimum of 210 minutes at 25C with a cut-off voltage of 10.5 volts. 7. Cold crankinq performance at -18C (0F). The battery shall deliver 365 amperes for a minimu
9、m of 30 seconds at -18C with a cut-off voltage of 7.2 volts. 8. Retention of charse. The battery shall retain at least 80% of the 10 hour-rate capacity (130 ampere-hours) 28 days after charge termination when discharged at the 10 hour rate. 9. Cyclinq. The battery shall be capable of 90 cycles minim
10、um. The cycles shall consist of any combination of the requirements listed in paragraphs 5, 7 and 8 with a minimum of 80% capacity at the specified rate. At least one cycle of of each capacity check listed in paragraph 5 shall be conducted for verification. Only cycles yielding 80% or greater capaci
11、ty are to be counted. Charging shall be conducted with a constant potential charger set at 14.1 volts with a limiting current of 30 amperes. 10. Each battery shall be provided with a lifting device or system to facilitate manual or mechanical handling. 11. Bid samples. When specified in the solicita

The contractor shall certify and maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered
13、meets the salient characteristics of this Commercial Item Description, and that the product conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards and quality assurance practices. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter
14、 as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. Metric Products. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, provided they fall within specified tolerances using conversion tables contained in
15、 the latest revision of Federal Standard No. 376 and all other requirements of this Commercial Item Description are met. If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions, the dimensions and tolerances shall not exceed those specified in the inch-pound units, and overall outside dimensions shall rem
16、ain equal to or less than those stated in inches. The contracting officer has the option of accepting or rejecting the product. Requlatory Requirements. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials in accordance with public Law 94-580 to the maximum extent practicable. Safety. A M
17、aterial Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) is required in accordance with Code of Federal Regulations, 29 CFR 1910-1200 and FED-STD-313. Preservation, packaqinq, P ackinq, labelinq and markinq. The preservation, packaging, packing, labeling and marking shall be as specified in the contract or order. Notes. Pu
