、uted layer on one side of the backing. The adhesive shall require no solvent, heat, or any other preparation prior to application. 2.2 Breaking strength. The tape shall have a breaking strength of 15 pounds per inch width minimum when tested in accordance with FED-STD-191, Method No. 5102. 2.3 Adhes

、ion. Adhesion of the tape to magnesium shall be 20 ounces per inch width minimum. Adhesion after exposure to petroleum base oils and di-ester fluids shall be 14 ounces per inch width minimum with 0.125-inch edge lifting permitted. 2.4 Finished tape. The tape shall be smoothly and uniformly wound in

、rolls, with the adhesive side in, on cores having an inside diameter of 3.000, +0.0625, -0.0000-inch. The core shall be rigid enough to prevent distortion of the roll under normal handling. The panel shall be cleaned with mineral spirits conforming to MIL-PRF-680, Type I. 4.3 Tape application. A tape specimen one by eight inches shall be applied to the test panel described in 4.2 so that

、 a one- by four-inch area is covered. The tape shall be applied by rolling the tape applicator back and forth once in the lengthwise direction. 4.4 Adhesion to magnesium. The free end of the tape applied in accordance with 4.3 shall be doubled back 180 degrees, and one inch of the applied tape shall

、 be peeled back at the folded end to allow panel attachment to a tensile test machine. The free end of the tape shall be pulled by the tensile machine at a rate of 12 inches per minute, and the adhesion value recorded after the first inch and then again after the next inch is peeled back. 4.4.1 Adhe
