Anchor shanks, shackles, and shackle pins shall bmedel-accoraance with ASTM A668, class Dl normalized and tempered. 3.1.2
21、.1 Test blocks. Test blocks for forgings shall be made from prolongs in accord- ance with ASTM A 370. Specimens shall be taken at 1/4T of prolong, with the prolong having minimum dimensions of T by T by W, where T and W are the thickness and width, respectively of the largest cross section. 3.1.3 St
22、ock. The stock for all sizes of anchor shall be either steel casting in accordance with ASTM A 27 or bar stock forging in accordance with ASTM A 668, class D, normalized and tempered. Castings shall be heat-treated by normalizing and tempering and shall conform to 3.1.1.1, if applicable. In either c
23、ase (casting or forging), the stock shall attain the mechanical properties in table I. The stock shall not be required to undergo microstructure examination. 3.1.4 Key pin;, split keys, and rings. Key pins, split keys, and rings shall be made of carbon steel con orming to ASTM575. 3.1.5 Chain. Chain
24、 shall be the close link type and shall be in accordance with 3.2 Descri tion. 33、 upon completion 3.6 Cleanin . The castings and forgings shall be cleaned for proper adhesion of finish 3.7 Identification markings. Shanks shall bear the legend specified on the applicable drawing (see 3.3) . 3.8 Finish. 3.8.1 Anchor mass from 4 & to 50 3 (8 to 100 lbs.), inclusive. Surfaces of all

Except as otherwise specified in the contract, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. any of the inspections set forth in the specification where suc
