REQUIREMENTS 3.1 . - T

7、he Anchor, Underwater Mine!, Mark 56 Mod 4 owrein after referred to as the mine anchor is a weigit, including a cable pay out device disengageakle from a mine after launching and operable to anchor the mine at a predetermined depth below the surface of the water. 3.2 1 re-. 3.2.1 rowtion . - A prepr

8、oduction le of the mine anEr shall be =ctured using the met ods and procedures pro osed for the production lot. The preproduction sample s all be prepared for delivery in accordance with Section 5. This sample will be inspected as specified in Section 4 herein and is for the purpose of determining t

9、hat the production meets the requirements of this specification and the design. Provision of the sample shall be in accordance with 4.3,l. 10、 - The mine anchor shall be manufactured in accordance with NOSC LD 549694 or 549718, all documents listed therein, and as specified herein, Inspection and acceptance shall be in accordance with Section 4, 3:2,3 Conflicting requirements o - Conflicting requirements arsing between this specification

11、and any other specification, publication, or drawing listed herein shall be referred to the procuring agency or appointed agent in writing for interpretation, clarification and resolut ion, 30204 - Data, - No data is required by applicable documents referenced in Section 2, unless specified in the c

MIL-A-23773A (OS) The standard of workmanship exhibited in any approved preproduction sample, subject to any qualification stated in the Governments notice of approval, shall determine the requirements of the contract relative to workmanship insofar as not

22、specifically covered by applicable specifications. 40 QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVIS IONS 4.1 for i ection. - Unless otherwise spec if iewh supplier is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. specified, the su plier may utilize his own facilities or any commerci

The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4,2 tion of Itions. - Inspection of the items

Acceptance of the sample shall be based on no defects in this sample. Further production of the mine anchor by the

40、 boiler, with boiling water vented to the atmosphere in the bottom section, Do not use any type of oil or any water solution. Use only plain tap water, Do not remove the preservative compound from the cable before applying the antifouling compound. Move the cable slowly through the heated compound a

41、nd then through a tapered wiper die .171“ + .003“ - .OOO“ diameter. This should force the compound into the interstices of the cable and leave a . thin film remaining on the outside surfaces of the cable. The cable shall be examined to assure that the entire surface of the cable has been thoroughly

42、coated. Any section where the antifouling compound has not penetrated the interstices of the cable and a thin film does not remain on the surface of the cable shall be cause for rejecting the entire cable. WARNING: Any Overheating of the antifouling compound can have deleterious effects on it and ca

43、n also cause the release of toxic vapor. 4.5.2*4 nut d- test (Sampling). -With the hold-off nut free of the drum shaft, en age the nut and manually thread the nut on the shaft nine ( 6 ) full turns. In a reverse manner remove the nut. During this operation any mine anchor in which the nut binds or s

44、ticks upon the threaded portion of the drum shaft, shall be regarded as defective. 4.5.2.5 t test (SU. - With the hold-off nutashaft, rotate the drum. moves free of the pawl weldment. free of the pawl weldment shall be cause for regarding the anchor as defective. 46、 to the drum in any suitable manner in which the-drum may be rotated in either direction upon its shaft, With the cable so secured, rotate the drum a minimum of ten (10) complete revolutions in each direction, Any mine anchor in which any degree of binding or jamming of the drum occurs shall be rega

47、rded as defective, (See paragraph 4 . 5 2.9) Position the holdfoff nut so that two full turns of the- cable drum will disegage the nut from the finger assembly, Arrange and secure the test cables to the anchor cables by a method that will, upon testing, effect a smooth release, Criteria for cable le

48、ngths and other critical dimensions are shown in the schematic drawing of Figure 1, The release mechanism shall accept the load of the 80 pound weight until release is effected, Upon release, time the descent of the weight through its 30 foot drop. Should the weight drop in less than 4,O seconds or

49、more than 8,O seconds as slack develops in the cable, the mine anchor shall be regarded as defective and appropriate corrective measures shall be taken, (See paragraph 4,5,2,9) NOTE: Possible points of malfunction may be: (1) a jammed 405,207 Cable pay off and pawling test (Sampling), - or if the pawl fails to operate in locking the drum brake due
