2、 1. SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This specification covers a canister for the type A-4 oxygen breathing apparatus (OBA). 1.2 Part number. The part number for the canister covered by this speci- fication shall be M17671-1. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 Government documents. 2.1.1 Specifications. standards, and han

The starting process shall operate within an ambient temperature range of minu

22、s 22 to 212F (minus 30 to 100C) (see 4.6.3.1 and 4.6.3.2). The process shall supply a minimum of 0.088 cubic foot (2.5 liters (L) of breathable gas at standard temperature and pressure (STP), 30.4 inches (760 mm) mercury, 32F (OOC), in the first minute of operation and shall continue to evolve breat

23、hable gas until 0.334 cubic foot (9.5 L) of breathable gas at STP have been evolved within a maximum of 3.5 minutes. When the process is initiated at 212“F, it shall evolve 0.354 cubic foot of breathable gas at STP in not less than 45 seconds, less than 0.02 percent by volume (see 4.6.3.3). Carbon m

25、ocess shall be resistant to salt water (see 4.6.5). 3.6 Weight. The fully assembled canister shall weigh not more than 75.4 ounces (2155 grams). 3.7 Color. The color of the canister shall be green, in accordance with color nimber 14110 or 14187 of FED-STD-595 and as specified on Drawing 803-51.84258

26、. 3.8 Finish. The finish for the canister shall be in accordance with finish ntmbor 22.9 of MIL-STD-171 and as specified on Drawing 803-5184258. 3.9 Identification. Unless otherwise specified in the contract: (ar purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements (examinations and tes

Except os otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government: reserves the right to p

30、erform any of the inspections set forth in this specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to ensure supplies and services conorm to prescribed requirements. 4.1.1 Responsibilitv for compliance. All items shall meet all requirements of sections 3 and 5. The inspection set forth in thi

31、s specification shall become a part o the contractors overall inspection system or quality program. absence of any inspection requirements in the specification shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of ensuring that all products or supplies submitted to the Government for acceptance

32、comply with all requirements cf the contract. Sampling inspection, as part of the manufacturing operations, is an acceptable practice to ascertain conformance to requirements, however, this does not authorize submission of known defective material, either indicated or actual, nor does it commit the
