1、I r M I L-C-2270 4 B (W PI 15 FEBRUARY 1965 SUPERSEDING MIL-C-22104 A (WEPI I MARCH i963 MILITARY SPECIFICATION COMJ?TER SET, NAVIGATIONAL AN/AYK-2( *) This specification has been approved by the Bureau of Naval Weapons, Department of the Navy 1. SCOPE 1.1 Scope - The equipment covered by this speci

2、fication shall accept signals from a doppler velocity sensor, airspeed transducer, and compass system and compute wind and N-S and E-W components of distance traveled. 6.7. *1.2 Classification - The Computer Set, Navigational shall consist of the items listed in Associated Equipment - The equipment

3、shall operate with the associated equipment *1.3 listed in 6.11 which shall not be supplied as part of the equipment. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS *2.1 General - The documents listed in 6.8 of the issue in effect on the date of invitation for bids form a part of this specification to the went specified h

4、erein. 3. REQUIREMENTS *3.1 *3.2 Preproduction - This specification makes provision for preproduction testing. Parts and Materials - In the selection of parts and materials, fulfillment of major (1) Microelectronic items shall conform to requirements specified herein. (2) Other parts and materials r

5、equirements shall conform to Specification design objectives shall be the prime consideration. In so doing the following shall govern: MIL-E-5400. (3) Nonrepairable subassemblies, as outlined in Specification MIL-E- 5400, shall be used when practicable. The general size of the subassembly and the am

6、ount of circuitry to be included therein shall be approved by the procuring activity. Nonrepairable subassemblies must be reliable. (See 6.4. ) (4) When previously produced models of this equipment did not use nonrepairable subassemblies, the design shall not be changed to employ nonrepairable as- s

7、emblies without the approval of the procuring activity. *3.2.1 Nonstandard Parts and Materials Approval - Approval for the use of nonstandard parts and materials shall be obtained as outlined in Specification MIL-E-5400, *3.2.2 Electron Devices - Electron tubes, transistors and diodes shall be chose

8、n and ap- plied, and the complements reported as outlined in Specification MIL-E-4682. The complement re- port must be submitted to the procuring activity for review and approval prior to preproduction testing. Design and Construction - The equipment shall conform with all the applicable re- quireme

9、nts of Specification MIL- E- 5400 for design, construction and workmanship, except as other- wise specified herein. *3.3 1 -L # _ -. 10、bles, shall be a mini- mum consistent with good design and shall not exceed 23.6 pounds. 3.3.2 Reliability *3.3.2.1 Operational Stability - The equipment shall operate with satisfactory performance, continuously or intermittently, over a period of at least 200 hours without the necessity for readjus

11、t- ment of any controls. *3.3.2.2 Operating Life - The equipment shall have total operating life of 4000 hours with reasonable servicing and replacement of parts. Parts requiring scheduled replacement shall be specified by the contractor. *3.3.2.3 Reliability in Mean Time Between Failures - The equi

12、pment shall have 200 hours of mean (operating) time between failures when tested and accepted as outlined under the requirements of 4.4.3. *3.3.2.4 Time Totalizing Meter - The equipment shall contain time totalizing meters in ac- cordance with Specification MIL-M-7793. Meters shall be included in th

13、e following units: unit Type of Meter - Control-Indicator MS17322-6 (with modified flange) Computer MS17322-6 (with modified flange) 3.3.3 Cabling and Connections *3.3.3.1 Cables and Connectors - The equipment shall provide for the use of cables and con- nectors in accordance with Specification MIL

14、E- 5400. *3.3.3.2 Interconnection Cabling - The equipment shall be capable of satisfactory operation using external wiring in accordance with the applicable requirements of Specification MIL-W- 5088. The external wiring shall be unshielded, except that a minimum number of the individual wires may be

15、 shielded when demonstrated as necessary to meet interference control requirements and provided the assembly of the cable to its plugs may be easily accomplished. External cables and that portion of the connectors attached to the cables shall not be supplied as part of the equipment. Interconnection

16、 cabling shall conform to Figure 1. . Control Panels - All rack or console mounted control panels shall conform to the applicable requirements of Specification MIL- C-6781. The configuration of all control panels must be approved by the procuring activity prior to preproduction testing. *3.3.4 . *3.

17、3.5 Interchangeability of Reordered Equipment - For reordered equipment interchange- ability shall exist between units and all replaceable assemblies, subassemblies, and parts of a desig- nated model of any previously manufactured equipment, supplied or designated by the procuring activity. the vuln

18、erability of the equipment to radio interference shall be controlled within the limits of Speci- fication MIL I- 6 18 1. Maintenance Provisions and Field Testing - Provisions for maintenance shall be as specified in Specification MIL-E-5400. Specific test points and test facilities shall be provided

19、 to the greatest extent practicable for ease of field testing and maintenance. for equipment identification shall be in accordance with Specification MIGN- 18307. *3.3.6 Interference Control - The generation of radio interference by the equipment and *3.3.7 *3.3.8 Nomenclature and Nameplate - Nomenc

Standard Conditions - The following conditions shall be used to establish normal performance characteristics under standard conditions

21、and for making laboratory bench tests. Temperature Altitude Normal Ground Vibration None Humidity input power voltage Room ambient (25C f Soc) Room ambient up to 9oo/o relative humidity 115 f 1.OVAC and 27.5 i 0.5 V DC *3.3.10 Service Conditions - The equipment shall operate satisfactorily under any

22、 of the environmental service conditions or reasonable combination of these conditions as specified in Speci- fication MILE-5400 for Class I equipment, except as modified herein, Vibration - The equipment shall operate satisfactorily when subjected to the vibra- *3.3.10.1 tion requirements of curves

23、 lV and li of Specification MILE-5400. *3.3.11 Warm- Up-Time - The time required for the equipment to warm up prior to opera- tions shall be kept to a minimum and shall not exceed 5 minutes under standard conditions and 15 minutes at extreme service conditions, *3.3.12 Primary input Power Requiremen

24、ts - The equipment shall meet all applicable re- quirements of MIGSTD-704 and shall give specified performance from the following power sources with characteristics as defined in MILSTD-704 having limits as specified therein. The power re- quired shall not exceed the specified amounts. (1) AC Power

25、(Single Phase) 115 V, Category “b“, 85 VA. (2) DC Power 28 V, Category “b“, 2 Amps. Note: DC and AC power is supplied to plotting boards and indicators through AN/AYK-2 wiring. Degraded Performance - Degraded performance will be permitted for voltage *3.3.12.1 transients not exceeding O. 5 second du

26、ring normal electric system operation. Operation shall re- turn to normal with no resulting damage to the equipment. *3.3.13 Calibration Adjustments - The number of adjustments required to calibrate the computer within the performance requirements of this specification during field maintenance shall

27、 not exceed 4. individual modules shall be factory adjusted so that modules may be interchanged without recalibration. The performance requirements of this specification must be met without re- calibration after changing modules. . *3.4 quirements for satisfactory performance apply to performance un

Performance - Unless otherwise specified, values

29、set forth to establish the re- *3.4.1 Operation - The equipment shall accept inputs of doppler velocity along and across track, airspeed, and heading from which N-S and E-W components of distance traveled, ground velocity, and wind shall be computed and supplied to external equipment. 3.4.2 Inputs *

30、3.4.2.1 Doppler Ground Velocity Input Signals - The computer shall be designed to accept voltages representing on heading (Vh) and cross heading (Vd) velocities from a doppler navigator. The velocities will be referenced to a 115 volt reference voltage supplied by the doppler velocity sensor. The ve

31、locity signals will change in magnitude directly proportional to changes in the magni- tude of the reference voltage: The scale factor of the velocity signais will be 30 mv/knot when the reference voltage is 115 V. The reference voltage shall be in phase within f 2 with the line voltage. Provided by

A positive velocity along heading and a rig

33、ht drift velocity shall be represented by a signal that is in phase -f 4 with the reference voltage, while a neg- ative velocity along heading and left drift velocity will be represented by signal 180 f 4 out of phase with the reference voltage. The velocity signals may have a total harmonic distort

34、ion of up to 3% of the fundamental and individual harmonics up to 2% of the fundamental. The computer shall not be damaged by a step input voltage from O to 30 volts in either the Vh or Vd channels. No more than 25 va of the 115V reference signal supplied by the doppler velocity sensor shall be used

35、 by this com- puter. The minimum impedance of this computer to the doppler ground velocity signal (Vh and Vd) inputs shall be 30,000 ohms. This input shall be electrically isolated from the signal and power grounds. Airspeed Input Signal - The computer set, navigation shall be capable of accepting a

36、n airspeed signal from airspeed transducer types T-570/ASA-13 or T-349/APA-57 or an approved equivalent. The airspeed input shall cover ranges of O- 190 knots and 70-435 knots, selected by means of an electrical linkage. The airspeed inputs shall be in synchro form with a scale factor of 1.8 per kno

37、t for the 0-190 knots range and O. 943 per knot for the 70 - 435 knots range. Electrical zero of the synchro shall correspond to airspeed inputs of -5.7 knots and 70 knots respectively for the 0-190 knots and 70 - 435 knots ranges. three wire synchro signals representing magnetic heading from a MF-

38、1 or MA- 1 compass system at a scale factor of 1 per degree. Correction input - Means shall be provided for applying correction signal voltages to the summing points of the integrators in order that the output rate of the integrators may be modi- fied by a signal from an independent source. The corr

39、ection signals shall be in phase or 180 out of phasewiththereference voltage depending on the desired direction of the correction, i. e., an in phase signal shall cause an increase in velocity in the N and E directions and an out of phase voltage shall cause an increase in velocity in the S and W di

40、rections. The scale factor of the correction signal shall be 30 mv/knot. The input impedance shall be greater than 10,000 ohms. *3.4.2.2 *3.4.2.3 Heading input - The computer set, navigation shall accept inputs in the form of *3.4.2.4 3.4.3 Outputs *3.4.3.1 Distance Output - The equipment shall prov

41、ide synchro output signals representing N-S and E-W distances traveled at a scale factor of 2 nautical miles per revolution. This information shall be in the form of synchro voltages from a Kearfott 7RS910- 1L synchro or an approved equivalent True Heading Output - The equipment shall include provis

42、ions for transmitting head- ing information, corrected for magnetic variation to auxiliary equipment at a scale factor of 1 per degree. This information shall be in the form of synchro voltages from a Kearfott 7RS910- 1L synchrc or an approved equivalent. *3.4.3.2 *3.4.3.3 N-S and E-W Components of

43、Velocity Output - N-S and E-W components of aircraft velocitv (around speed) shall be supplied to the AN/ASA- 16 at a scale factor of 30 millivolts per knot 400 cps and by not more than 1 knot or 1% whichever is greater under standard conditions and 1-1/2 knots or 1-1/2%, whichever is greater below

44、-20C and above +50“C when operating in the doppler-off or air mass modes. *3.4.5.7 N-S and E-W Components of Wind Output Accuracy - When operating in the doppler mode the magnitude of the wind output as determined from the N-S and E-W components of wind output shall not differ from the theoretical v

45、alue as calculated from Vh, Vd, and heading by more than 1 knot or 1/2% of Vh, plus 1/2% of Vd plus 1/2% of airspeed, whichever is greater under standard conditions; and by more than 1-1/2 knots or 3/4% of Vh plus 3/4% of Vd plus 314% of airspeed, whichever is greater below -20C and above +50“C. 3.4

46、. *3.4.5.8 Wind Display Accuracy 5.7, I2 knots. - The wind display shall meet the accuracy requirements of *3.4.5.9 Airspeed Output Accuracy - The maximum error of the true airspeed output shall not exceed O. 6% of the Computer Set true airspeed input under standard conditions and 3/4% of the true a

47、irspeed input below -20C and above +50C. 3.5 Detail Requirements *3.5.1 Control-indicator C-3510(*)/AYK-2 - The control-indicator shall meet the following requirements : *3.5.1.1 of operation and for displaying the computed wind velocity. dimensions of the control-indicator shall be as shown in Figu

48、re 2. Panel lighting shall be in accord- ance with Specification MIL-P-7788. Function - The control-indicator shall provide for the selection of the various modes *3.5.1.2 Form Factor - The control-indicator shall be enclosed in a case. The overall *3.5.1.3 *3.5.1.4 Weight - The weight of the contro

49、l-indicator shall not exceed 5.9 pounds. Contents - The indicator shall contain the necessary circuits and components, in modular form, to fulfill the functions described herein. *3.5.1.5 Major Subassemblies - The following major subassemblies shall be included in the indicator: *3.5.1.5.1 Wind Cursor and Reticle Drive - This subassembly shall contain the gearing and components necessary to position the reticles representing the N-S and E-W components of wind. It shall also enable readout in polar form of wind mag
