12、pection and approval (see 4.3 and 6.2). 3.3.1 Fiber blend. 3.3.1.1 P0leste.r fiber. The fibers shall be polyethylene terephthalate, cemi-dull. The denier shall be a minimum of 2.25 (2.5 dtex) and a maXirmmi of 3.0 (3.3 dtex), and the staple shall be approximately l+ inches (3.8 an) in length (see 4.

13、4.1). 3.3.1.2 Cotton fiber. The cotton shall be combed (see 4.4.1). 3.3.2 Yarn. The warp and filling yarn shall be a blend of 65 (k5) percent polyester and the remaining percentage cotton based on the dry weight of the desized and bleached cloth before treatment, as specified in 4.5. The warp and fi

14、lling shall be a sirles yarn (see 4.4.1). 3.3.3 Color. The color of the class 1 cloth shall be white 3053 and the color of the class 2 cloth shall be Khaki 3729 and both shall match the standard sample, unless othmise specified (see 6.2). 3.3.3.1 Class 1, white. The white 3053 shall be obtained with

15、 a chemical bleach, preferably with hydrogen peroxide or peroxygen chemicals. The chemical bleach may be supplemented with fluorescent optical brighteners which fluoresce to the blue region. 3.3.4 sulfur content. The use of sulfur dyes or dyes containing elementary sulfur or sulfur compoundC capable

16、 of oxidation to sulfuric acid is prohibited. The dyed an finished cloth shall show no mre than a slight trace of labile sulfur as defined in the test method and specified in 4.5. 3.3.5 Discoloration. The finished class 1 cloth shall shuw discoloration to wet-dry cleaning, laundering (3 cycles), per

17、spiration, combined iaundering and bleaching and light (40 SFH) equal to or better than the standard sample when tested as specified in 4.5. AS a limit of acceptability, or when no standard sample is available, the discoloration of the clothtowet-dry cleaning, laundering (3 cycles), perspiration, co

18、mbined laundering an bleaching, and light (40 SFH), shall be a minimum of I1goodt1. 3.3.6 Colorfastness. The finished class 2 cloth shall &ow colorfastness t0 laundering (3 cycles) , perspiration, light (40 SFH) , and crockhq equal t0 or better than the standard sample when tested as specified in 4.

The demerit points per 100 square yards (83.6m2) when calculated as specified in section 4 shall not exce

25、ed the established maxirmmi point value. 4. QUALZIY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 ResmnsibilitV for hmect ion. unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the perfomce of all inspection requirementS (examinations an tests) as specified herein. Except as

26、 otherwise .specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to psrfom any of the inspections set forth

27、 in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to ensure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. All items must meet all requirements of sections 3 and 5. The inspection set forth in this specification shall beoame a part of the contractors overall inspection sys

28、tem or quality program. The absence of any inspection requirements in the specification shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of ensuring that ali products or supplies suhitted to the Government for acceptance canply with ali requirements of the contract. sampling inspection, as par

The inspection requir-ts specified herein are classified as follaws: 1.

31、 2. First article inspection (see 4.3). Quality conformance inspection (see 4.4). 4.3 First article insret ion. When required (see 3.2), the first article of finished cloth shall be visually inspected for uniformity of shade, color, finish, an appearance and shall be tested for chemical and physical

33、c-24927A 4.4.1 comonent and materialinswct ion. in accordance with 4.1 above, components and materials shall be incpected and tested in accordance with all the r-ements of referend kpcifications, drawings, and standardc unless otherwise excluded amended, modified, or qualified in this specification

34、or applicable procurement documente. in addition, a certificate of ccnnpliance shall be sutnni- for the material rqukemenk of 3.3.1.1, 3.3.1.2, 3.3.2, and the durable press resin and soil release finish requirements of 3.8. 4.4.2 Esramination of the end item. Examma tion of the end item shall be in

35、accordance with 4.4.2.1through 4.4.2.5. 4.4.2.1 Yard-bv-vard examination. Each roll in the sample shall be examined on face side only. When the total yardage in the role does not exceed 100 yardc (91.4m) , the entire yardage in the roll shall be examined. When the total yardage in the roll exceeds 1

36、00 yards (91.4m) only 100 yards (91.4m) shall be examined. All defects as defined in sedion III of FED-sII)-4, which are clearly noticeable at nom1 inspection distance (3 feet) (0.9m) shall be scored and assigned demerit points as listed in 4.4.2.1.1, except that those slubs and knots which exceed t

37、he lhnh shuwn on Sears Fabric Defect Scale (see 6.4), llC1g or 11411 as applicable for club6 and ttB1t for knots shall be scored. No linear yard (increments of 1 yard (0.9m) on the measuring device of the incpedion machine) fram any one roll within the sample shall be penalized mre than 4 points. Ti

For determination of acceptability on the average quality of the lot, the lot shall be unacceptable if the points, per 100 square yards (83.6mz) ex& 25 points. 39、 shall be unacceptable if two or mre individual rolls exceed 38 points per 100 square yards (83.6mz). Any length faund to be less

45、all be unacceptable if the total of the actual lengths of rolls in the sample is less than the total of selected for the examination for the individual rolls. the lengths marked on the tickets. liie rolls examined shall be these 4.4.2.3 Examination for shade variation. During the yard-by-yard examin

46、ation, each roll in the sample shall be examined for shade variation. Any role in the sample exhibiting uneven shade, shade variation side to side, side to center, or end to end, shall be cause for rejection of the entire lot represente by the sample. 4.4.2.4 Fmmhation for shade match and finish, in

47、dividual rolls. Each roll in the lot shall be examined visually for shade match (see 3.3.7) and fmsh (see 3.8). A roll shall be unacceptable if it fails to meet the requirements for shade match or finish. The sample unit shall be 4 inch by 20 inch (10.2311 by 50.8311) swatch of the cloth. A sample u

48、nit shall be drawn from each roll in the lot. 4.4.2.5 ESanrhation for face identification and nonconformance with the Textile Fiber Prducts Identification Act. During the yard-by-yard examination, each roll in the sample shall be examined for these defects. nie lot shall be unacceptable if two or mr

49、e rolls in the sample have face identification missing from either or both ends, or are not labeled or ticketed in accordance with the Textile Fiber Prducts Identification Act. 4.4.3 Examination of packadra recniirements. An examination shall be made in accordance with the provisions of PPP-P-1134 to determine that packaging, packing and marking comply with section 5 requirementc of this specification. 4.5 “estins of the end item.
