30、 REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Specification sheets. The individual item requirements shall be as specified herein and in accordance with-the applicable specification sheet. In the event of any conflict between the requirements of this specification and the specification sheet, the latter shall govern. (If a spe
31、cific requirement specified herein is not required for an item, it shall be so indicated on the specification sheet; for example, “Shock - N/A.“) 3.2 Qualification. Connectors and accessories furnished under this specification shall be products which are authorized by the qualifying activity for lis
32、ting on the applicable qualified products list at the time of award of contract (see 4.5 and 6.3). 3.3 Materi al . The materi al for each part shall be as specified herein. However, when a definite material is not specified, a material shall be used which will enable the connectors and accessories t
33、o meet the performance requirements. Acceptance or approval of any constituent material shall not be construed as a guarantee of the acceptance of the finished product. 3.3.1 Metals. 3.3.1.1 Metal parts. Al 1 metal parts (other than current carrying . parts) exposed to environmental conditions shall
34、 be of a corrosion- resistant material or shall be plated or chemically coated to resist corrosion during service life. f 3.3.1.2 Dissimilar metals. Where dissimilar metals are used in intimate contact with each other, protection against electrolysis and corrosion shall be provided. Dissimilar metal
35、s shall be as defined in MIL-STD-889. Dissimilar metals such as brass, copper, or steel (except corrosion-reslsting steel, passivated in accordance with 3.3.1.3) shall not be used in intimate contact with aluminum or aluminum alloys. However, spraying, coating, or plating of dissimilar base metals t
36、o provide similar abutting surfaces is permitted. Where applicable, corrosion resisting steel shall be 300
37、 series, low magnetic permeability in accordance with ASTM A 582, QQ-S-635, QQ-S-763, or Q$-S-766, (see 3.1) and passivated in accordance with QQ-P-35 or to finish E300 as specified in MIL-F-14072. 3.3.2 Base pl ate. When appl icable the metal base pl ate for type II I connectors shall be aluminum-a

The aluminum base plate shall be anodized in accordance with MIL-A-8625, or chemically treated in accordance with MIL-C-5541. 3.3.3 Insulation (dielectric). 3.3.3.1 pe III). The insulator b
39、ushings for type I II connectors shall be polyamide (nylon) in accordance with L-P-410 or PAlll of ASTM B 4066. All contacts shall be gold plated in accordance with type I I, grade C, cl ass 1 of MIL-G-45204 to a thickness of 50 microinches minimum. Contacts shall have a minimum nickel underpl ating of 50 microinches in accordance with QQ-N-290, c
46、lass 1. Localized finish specified by individual specification sheet. 3.3.4.3.2 Localized finish. The housing and cover shall be either die cast al uminum in accordance with QQ-A-591, extruded al uminum in accordance with QQ-A-200/8, or sheet aluminum in accordance with QQ-A-250/8 or QQ-
48、A-250/9. The type of aluminum used shall be suitable for the manufacturing technique employed. 3.3.5.2 Housinginish. The housing and cover shall be anodized in accordance with MIL-8-8625. The basis metal shall be mechanically prefinished before anodizing to remove surface imperfections or roughness,
49、 and to assure uniformity of the finished surface. Minimum depth of anodic surface treatment shall be 0.0004 inch (0.010 mm). 3.3.5.3 j(see 3.1). The housing and cover finish shall be black within the col or range establ i shed by color chips 34052, 35042, 36076, 36081, 37038, and 37056 sf FED-STB-595 (see 6.2).
