8、NIS 3.1 Material.- The ingredient mate7ial used ln the manufscture o this product hall be of high quality, suitable for the purpose, free from .starch, mercaptans, phosphates, silicates, abrasive materials, inert fillers, or rosin and shall conform to the applicable requirements as specified herein.

12、al hazard to personnel when used in accordance with the directions specified herein. 3.4.4 Specific Gravity (Weinht per Cal) .- The specific gravity shall be between 1.020 and 1.055 (8.50 and 8.79 lbs per gal) at 20/20C (68/68OF). 3.4.5 Distillation.- Distillation shall show the following: Distillat
13、ion Range: 5 percent point 8O0C: (356OP) (Min) 95 percent point 260C (50OOF) (Max) 3.3 Physical and Chemical Requirements of the Compound.- 3.5.1 . -.- The compound shall be 8 homogeneous liquid at ordinary temperature. 3.5.2 Specific Gravity.- The S cific gravity of the compound shall be between 1.
14、01 and 1.05 at a temperature of 25/25 r C (77/pF). . 3.5.3 Absolute Viscosity.- The absolute viscosity shall be not more than 0.5 poises at a temperature of 25OC (VF). 3.5.4 Acidity.- The pH value of a solution of one part compound to four parts distilled water by volume at 2OoC (68F) shall be betwe
15、en 7.5 end 8.0. 3.5.5 Solubility in Water.- The compound hall be completely roluble and shall cause no visible trace of corrosive attack and only a slight surface discoloration of polished aluminum alloy and of cadmium-plated steel. 3.6.3 strippina Properties.- The solution shall completely strip th
16、e tded primer and enamel top coats from an anodized aluplinum-alloy pmel at a temperature of 57 to 63OC (135 to U5OF) in a maximum period of 35 minutes, or in n period equnl to or less than the time required to strip the coated pnnel with a control formula as specified under paragraph 4.4.2.5.6. Dur
17、ing the specified time, the solution shall not sttack or affect oxidntion or discoloration of the metal portion of the panel. 3.6.4 Kinsing Properties.- The surface of the pnnel stripped in accorduce with paragraph 3.6.3, shall show no sticky fih after rinsing in fresh hot water. 18、emaining evidence of soap, lime curd, or physical dirt. 19、hrough for another 10 minutes. Heweigh the flask. The weight of residue multiplied by 100 divided by the weight of the sample gives the percent of cresols. Determine the distillation ranee of the cresol ingredient in accordance with Specification VV-L-791, method 100.1.6, Determine the specific grav
20、ity of the residue as that of the cresol ingredient, 4.4.3.4 Acidity of Compound.- Acidity shall be determined by the Electrometric Method with glass electrode by use of the Leeds and Northrup instrument, or equivalent. (The Colorhrtric Method may be used provided satisfactory evidence of the relati
21、onship of the colorimetric reading to the electrometric reading is furnished. 2.4.3.5 Performance Properties of Asueous-Solution.- For thfollowing tests, prepare 5 liters of solution by adding 1 liter of compound to 4 liters of distilled water at 25OC (770F). 4.4.3.5.1 Stabilitp_.- Place 500 ml of t
22、he solution in a beaker, heat to E temperature of 570 to 63 C (135O, to l45OF) and maintain for 4 hours at this temperature. Cool and maintain solution for 24 hours at rom temperature 25OC (PF) and then reheat to 570 to 63OC (W0 to l45OF) and examine for any tendency to foam excessively, to gel, or
23、show any trace of separation or layers. 4.4.3.5.2 Corrosiveness.- Transfer one .liter of the solution to a tall beaker and heat to a temperature of 570 to 63OC (135 to l.459). Maintain this temperature and completely immerse for 1-1/2 hours, one each of 1- tiy 6-inch strips of Specification AN-S-11
