Gaskets shall consist of a refill snapped into a solid metal outer ring (see figure 1) with a sliding fit. The design shall be such that the gasket can b
26、e compressed to 0.117 inch thickness without damage. Gaskets shall conform to tables I and II. 3.1.1.1 Refills for all series of aaskets. Refills shall be of the inside and outside dimensions specified in tables I and II. The contracting activity is responsible for furnishing complete 7/8 inch diame
27、ter, 9 threads; all other bolts 8 threads. For the extent of applicability of the preparation for delivery or packaging requirements of referenced documents listed in section 2, see 6.2.) 5.1 General. 5.1.1
34、 Navv fire retardant reuuirements. (a) Lumber and Dlvwood. When specified (see 6.2), all lumber and plywood including laminated veneer materials used in shipping container and pallet construction, members, blocking, bracing, and reinforcing shall be fire-retardant treated materials con- forming to M
35、IL-L-19140 as follows: Level A and B - Type II - weather resistant. Category I - general use. Level C - Type I - nonweather resistant. Category I - general use. (b) Fiberboard. Fiberboard used in the construction of interior (unit and intermediate) and exterior fiberboard boxes including interior pa
36、ckaging foms shall conform to the class-domestic/ fire retardant or class-weather resistant/fire retardantmaterial requirements as specified (see 6.2) of PPP-F-320. (c) Cushioning and wrappine: materials. The use of excelsior, news- paper, shredded paper (all types), and similar hydroscopic or nonne
37、utral materials and all types of loose fill materials for packaging applications such as cushioning, fill, stuffing, and dunnage is prohibited. Materials selected shall have properties (characteristics) for resistance to fire (see 6.8). Cushioning or wrapping materials, as applicable, shall be provi
38、ded to pre- vent item and package damage and to prevent free movement of the container contents. 5.1.2 Asbestos items (see 3.2.3). All asbestos and separately protected items containing asbestos shall be protected in sealed, dust and siftproof packs. Flexible packs shall be heat sealed. All packages
39、 shall be marked as required by 5.4. 5.2 Preservation. Gaskets and refills,
40、 in quantity as specified (see 6.2), shall be placed in a water resistant folding, setup, or metal edged paperboard or a class-weather resistant/fire retardant fiberboard (see 5.1.1(b) boxmeeting the unit and intermediate container requirements of MIL-STD-2073-1. The container selection shall be at
41、the option of the contractor. 5.2.1.1 Bundling. When specified (see 6.2), gaskets shall be bundled, tied and wrapped in fire retardant material (see 5.1.1(c) and 6.9). The wrapper shall be secured with pressure sensitive tape. The quantity per bundle and required ties shall be as follows: Gaskets (w
