Materials shall conform to applicable specifications and drawings, and shall be as specified herein. Materials which are not covered by specifications, or which are not
17、specifically described herein, shall be of the best quality, of the lightest practical weight, and suitable for the purpose intended. 3.3.1 Metal parts. All metal parts shall be of corrosion resistant material or treated in a manner to render them adequately resistant to corrosion. 3.3.1.1 Dissimila
18、r metals. Unless suitably protected against electrolytic corrosion, dissimilar metals shall not be used in intimate contact with each other. Dissimilar metals are defined in MIL-STD-889. 3.4 Design and construction. unit shall be in accordance with the applicable drawings listed on DL2581669 and the
19、 Mod 1 unit shalt be in accordance with the applicable drawings listed on DLl558ASl0, and the requirements listed herein. 20、otation. The motor shall rotate in a counterclockwise e direction as viewed from the fan end when the unit is examined in accordance with 4.6.2 through 4.6.2.2, with assignment of voltage as specified by the procuring activity (see 6.2). 3.5.2 Gel mobility. The average flow of the gelled fuel produc
21、ed by the unit shall not exceed 4 inches in 60 21 seconds when tested in accordance with 4.6.3 through 4.6.3.3. 3.5.3 Blending. The unit shall blend the gelling agents in the ratios of 4.8 to 5.04 volumes of Solution A (see 6.4) and 2.42 to 2.54 volumes of Solution i3 (see 6.4) per 100 volumes of fu
22、el in accordance with 4.6.4 through 4.6.4.2.1. 3.5.4 Capacity. The unit shall deliver gelled fuel at a minimum rate of 35 gallons per minute (gpm) from the gel-discharge hose when operated in accordance with instructions given in 4.6.4 through 4.6.4.2.2 with a suction head of 6 21 feet for solutions
23、 and fuel. 3.5.5 Leakage. There shall be no gage indicated pressure drop and no external leakage from any joint, shaft seal, or mating surface of the unit when subjected to 150 25 pounds per square inch gage (psig) pressure in accordance with the testing procedures specified in 4.6.5 through 4.6.5.1
24、. 3.5.6 Pressure switch requirements. The pressure switch shall automatically shut down the unit within 20 seconds after the supply of Solution A is depleted. Functioning shall be tested in accordance with 4 3.5.7 Temperature switch. The temperature switch shall automati cal ly down the unit when th

The unit, including all parts and accessories, shall be constructed and finished in a manner to ensure compliance wit
28、h all the requirements of this specification. neatness and thoroughness of soldering, wiring, marking of parts, plating, painting, and freedom from burrs and sharp edges (see 4.6.1). Particular attention shall be given to 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless othe
29、rwise Specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor i s responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performan
30、ce of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government, The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specifications where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements
31、. herein are classified as follows: 4.2 Classification of inspection. The inspection requirements specified a. First article inspection (4.4) 6. Qual i ty conformance inspection (4.5) 4.3 Test conditions. Unless otherwise specified, the units shall be tested under the fol lowing standard conditions:

Unless otherwise specified, as soon as practicable after the award of the contract or order, the manufacturer shall submi

The unit shall be representative of the construction, workmanship, components, and materials to be used during production. inspection reports will be forwarded to the government qual i ty control representative (see 6.2). sample may be delivered as one of the units of supply under the co

Failure to meet any of the requirements specified herein or pass any o
37、f the first article examinations or tests specified in Table I shall be cause for rejection. Full particulars concerning the failure and measures to be taken to correct the defects shall be forwarded to the government inspector, contracting officer, and responsible design activity with 30 days of th
38、e failure (see 6.2). Upon resubmission of the unit for inspection after a failure, the inspection shall start at. the beginning of the test during which the failure occurred. TABLE I. The units shall be examined for conformance with this specification and applicable drawings with respect to workmanship, material, dimensions, and markings. 4.6.2 Wiring and rotation. For both the Mod O and the Mod
45、1, examination of the wiring and rotation shall be made to determine that the internal wiring corresponds to the requirements of the specified documents and for use at the vol tage designated in the procurement document as follows: 4.6.2.1 Mod O. Examination shall determine that the internal wiring
