SCOPE i. 1 This specification covers a system of equip- type I of Standard MIL-STD-167 and shall meet the Hi shockproof requirement

REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Requirements. - The float current measuring system shall comprise three separate subassemblies as described in 3.1.1, 3.1.2 and 3.1.3. All subas- semblies shall meet the vibration requirements of 3.1.

8、nsductor. - For purposes of this speci- fication, a transductor shall be defined as a static magnetic or semiconductor device which, when em- ploying a bus bar as a one-turn winding or source of magnetic field excitation will present, at termi- nals electrically isolated from the bus bar, a vol- tag

9、e or impedance which varies predictably with the magnitude, polarity, or both of the direct current flowing in the bus bar. 3.3 System operation requirements. - The above three major system components shall function as described below to accomplish specified current in- dication. The transductor sha

10、ll present a voltage or impedance to the control unit. The control unit shall furnish a signal to the meter, hence indicating bus bar current. The control unit shall provide any signal limiting which may be required by the meter, and any reference or bias signai which may be re- qi?ired by the trans

11、ductor. 3.4 Component requirements. - The components of the float current measuring system shall be as specified in tables I and II and in 3.4.1 and 3.4.2. 17、of the meter scale, but sliall not damage the meter. Bus bar cur- rent of 4000 amperes of either polarity, flowing con- tinuously, sliall have no effect on operation or accu- riicy of the system. Fault currents of 50,000 am- peres for 10 seconds sliall cause no damage to the system or any component

18、thereof. No damage shall result from rates of change of current up to 2,000,000 amperes per second. 3.7 Bliping. - In addition to the signal required oor specified cu7rent indication, the control unit sliall present to the meter damping impedance to in- sure meter stability. As defined by Specificat

19、ion MIL-Pif- 16034, the meter (wiien installed in circuit) shall liave a response time not less thlari 5 seconds aiid a damping factor not less than 10. to permit specified operation of the system over a range of distances between tlie transductor and the control unit. 21、ly. 3.10 Prohibited components. - The use of bat- teries, electron tubes, relays and motors will not be allowed. 3.11 Semiconductor components. - Semiconductor components used in the transductor and control unit sliall be subject to approval of the bureau or agency coiicerned. It shall be attached to the control unit, but shall be easily removable. The

23、instruction slieet shall include a schematic and in- terconnection diagram of the system, and sufficient instructions to permit calibration of the system at installation. Typical currents and voltages in the circuit at specified conditions shall be included on the sciiematic, to aid troubleshooting.

25、 QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISONS 4.1 The supplier is responsible for the perfor- mance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified, the supplier may utilize his own or any other inspection facilities and services acceptable to the Government. Inspec- tion records of

26、 the examination and tests shall be kept complete and available to the Government as specified in the contract or order The Govern- ment reserves the right to perform any of the in- spections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services c

27、onform to prescribed requirements. 4.2 Test. - The quality assurance provisions of Specification MIL- P- 15736 shali apply except quali- fication tests do not apply. The tests specified in 4.2.1, 4.2.2 and 4.2.3 shall be included in periodic tests. 4.2.1 Heating. - Heating tests to determine the tem

28、perature rise of the transductor and the control unit chail be conducted with the bus bar portion of the transductor carrying the full rated current of 4000 amperes direct current. The direct current for this test may be obtained from any available source, at any convenient voltage. Temperature rise

29、 measurements shall be made on the bus bar and any other components and windings which may be used on the transductor. Temperature rise of trans- formers, coils, rectifiers and like components of the control unit shall be made in accordance with the applicable requirements of Specification MIL-P- 15

30、736. 4.2.2 Accuracy of indication. - The bus bar current shali be successively adjusted to O, 5, 10, 15 and 20 amperes dc of each polarity. This test shall be run under all of the conditions of line vol- tagel frequency and ambient temperature specified in the applicable table of Specification ME-P-

31、15736, except that the line voltage will be varied plus or minus 5 percent, in lieu of 10 percent. The current supplied to the bus bar shall be derived from bat- teries, but may be at any convenient voltage. The actual and indicated values of current shall be com- pared to determine whether the floa

32、t charge meas- uring system operates with specified accuracy. No adjustment or recalibration will be allowed between the above test points to compensate for variations of the line voltage and frequency and ambient tem- perature. 34、es, as speci- fied in 4.2.2, and the accuracy of the float current measuring system shall be checked with the minimum practical (no more than one-half an ohm) resistance connected between the transductor and the control unit. This test may be run at rated line voltage and frequency and any convenien

35、t ambient temperature. Recalibration will be permitted when the resistance value is changed. 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Cleaning, preservation, packaging, packing and marking. - Equipment repair parts and technical manuals shall be cleaned, preserved, packaged, packed and marked for the level a

36、s specified (see 6.1) in accordance with Specification MIL-P-15736. 6. NOTES 6.1 Ordering data. - Procurement documents should specify the following: (a) Title, number,. and date of this specifi- cation. MIL-M-21688A( SHIPS) * of this specification. 37、umber of sets of onboard repair parts (d) Number of technical manuals required. (e) Required delivery date of drawings, tech- nical manuals, onboard repair parts and equipment. (f) Selection of the level of preservation and required (see 3.3.6). packaging and the level of packing required (see 5.1).
