QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS4.1 Resvonsibilitv for in
10、spection. Unless otherwise specified in thecontract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance ofall inspection requirements (examinations and tests) as specified herein. Exceptas otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may usehis own or any ot
11、her facilities suitable for the performance of the inspectionrequirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. TheGovernment reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in thisspecification where such inspections are deemed necessary to ensure supplies andservic
12、es conform to prescribed requirements.4.1.1 Resvonsibilitv for compliance. All items shall meet all requirementsof sections 3 and 5. The inspection set forth in this specification shall becomea part of the contractors overall inspection system or quality program. Theabsence of any inspection require
13、ments in the specification shall not relieve thecontractor of the responsibility of ensuring that all products or suppliessubmitted to the Government for acceptance comply with all requirements of thecontract. Sampling inspection, as part of the manufacturing operations, is anacceptable practice to
14、ascertain conformance to requirements, however, this doesnot authorize submission of known defective material, either indicated or actual,nor does it commit the Government to accept defective material.4.2 Classification of inspections . The inspection requirements specifiedherein are classified as f
15、ollows:(a) Qualification inspection (see 4.3).(b) Quality conformance inspection (see 4.4)4.3 Qualification inspection. Qualification inspection shall be performedat a laboratory acceptable to the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSSA)Qualification inspection shall consist of the tests specified in tabl
16、es I and II.4.3.1 Suecimens for qualification inspection. Tests shall be performed onstandard test specimens molded by the manufacturer of each compound for whichqualification is required. The number of test specimens to be tested shall be asspecified in tables II and III.4.3.2 Preparation. Specimen
17、s shall be prepared for tests as specified in4.5.1.4.4 Qualitv conformance inspection. Quality conformance shall be asspecified in table IV. Tests shall be performed at the manufacturers plant onstandard specimens molded by the manufacturer from each batch of compound to beprovided to molders for pr
18、oduction of molded parts under this specification.4.4.1 u.
