3、d in Section 4. 3. 2. 2 Frame, -The platform frame shall be fabricated from com- mercial grade, structural steel channel and hot rolled steel flats, as shown in Figure 1. The frame shall consist of a single length of 3 by 1 112 inch by 5. O pound structural steel channel, with flanges inward, notche

4、d, bent, and welded in the shape of a “U“. 7、r edge. A deck support, made from 3 by 1 1/2 inch by 5. O pound structural steel channel, shall be coped and welded to the base of the “U“ frame and welded to the rear and intermediate cross braces, with its centerline coinciding with the longitudinal centerline of the platform frame. A 1/4 by 3 by

8、18 inch, commercial grade, hot rolled flat fork spacer shall be centered in the center of the rear opening of the frame and welded to the rear cross brace and to the deck support. 3. 2. 3 Platform. -The platform deck shall be 1/4 inch nominal thickness, commercial grade, ribbed or diamond tread safe

9、ty plate, 48 by 48 1/8 inches for type I and 48 by 69 1/8 inches for type II. shall be cut to conform to the contour of the frame, and cut and drilled to accommodate rear uprights and posts, Decking shall be set in from the outside of the frame 114 inch from the front and 3/4 inch from the rear. The

10、 deck shall be skip welded to the outer edge of the frame, top flange of the deck support, and fork spacer by 1/4 inch fillet welds, 3 inches long on 6 inch centers. Pads, of 1/4 by 1 112 inch, commercial grade, hot rolled steel flat, shall be cut to conform to the corner angles of the “U“ frame and

11、 shall be skip welded to the frame by 1/4 inch fillet welds, 3 inches long on 6 inch centers. The deck 3. 2. 4 Rear uprights. -Two, 1/4 by 2 1/2 by 2 1/2, commercial grade, structural steel angle uprights, 74 314 inches long, shall be set at the rear corners of the frame, with their outer surfaces 5

NOTES 6. 1 Intended use. -Type I personnel safety pallets described here- in are intended for use in conjunction with fork lift trucks

34、 to permit maintenance personnel to work in elevated locations which otherwise would be inaccessible. Type II personnel safety pallets described herein are intended for the same purpose, as well as for elevating stock pickers or replenishers, together with a pallet, to reach otherwise inaccessible s

35、helf or bin areas. 6, 2 Ordering data. -Procurement documents should specify the following: (a) Title, number, and date of this specification. (b) Type required. (See 1. 2) (c) Whether preproduction sample is required. (See 3. 1. 1) (d) Whether accessories are required, (See 3. 3) (e) Additional req

36、uirements not listed in specification. (See 3. 5. 7) (f) General inspection procedures required. (See 5. 3) 6. 3 Guaranty. -invitation for bids and contracts o

37、r orders should specify the following guaranty clause, except in those instances where it is determined that the inclusion of the guaranty clause would not be to the best interest of the Government. a. 43、arts, until one year after date of delivery. 6.4 Information to accompany bid. -Each bidder shall submit a positive statement as to whether or not the item offered fully conforms to the terms of this specification. Where the bidders product differs from the specific requirements, each point of diffe

44、rence should be clear- ly described. This requirement is set forth to facilitate the review of bids and is not to be construed by the bidder as waiving any of the require- ments of the specification.
