REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Preproduction sample. %less otherwise specified in the contract or order, a preproduction sample of pods shall be delivered for testing at a facility designated in the contract
9、 or order (see 6.2). The preproduction sample shall be manufactured using the methods proposed for production. approval of the preproduction sample shall be at the suppliers risk. Any production by the supplier prior to 3.2 Compliance with documents. Unless otherwise speci- fied, the pod shall be in
10、 accordance with the require- ments specified herein and in the applicable documents listed in section 2. 3.3 Materials. Materials used in the manufacture of the pod shall conform to the material specfoations in the applicable dOGUmentS listed in section 2. Subject to the approval of the Government
11、representative, alternate materials may be selected in accordance with Military Handbook Hl in the order of precedence specified in Standard 3.4 Desim. with the requirements specified herein and in the ap- plicabXe documents listed in section 2. The pod shall be assembled with other components of th
12、e Mark 4 Gun Pod and prepared for operation as speoified in Publication OP 2719. The pod shall meet the requirements of 3.4.1 through 9.4.5. 3.4.1 Safety. When the switch controlling the gun pod clearing function is actuated, the pod shall supply MILSTD=i43. The design of the pod shall be in accorda

The pod shall cycle the gun mechanism not fewer than three times
14、in 500 milliseconds, ejecting cartridges or cartrige cases with a velocity sufficient to pass through the loader and the pod ejectioa tubes without catching or binding. 3.4.2 Function. 3.4.2.1 Pianua1 charainq. When the switch controlling the gun pod charging function is actuated, the pod shall cycl
15、e the gun mechanism to carry rounds from the ram position to firing position. Any cartridges or cartridge cases at the eject position shall be ejected with a velocity sufficient to clear incoming links and to pass through the eJection tubes without catching or binding. 3.4.2.2 Automatic charging. Wh
16、en the pod electrical sys- tem is wired for automatic charging and the gun fails to fire when the firing oircuits are energized, the pod shall supply signals and power to the gun for automatic charging within 200 milliseconds. Live rounds shall be cycled into firing position and any rounds or cases

18、Operational life. The pod shall be capable of feeding l30,OOO service rounds and firing the same number through the gun mechanism with normal parts replacement and servicing. The parts replacement schedule shall be as specified in Publication OP 2719. 3.4.3.2 Shock and vibration. When preserved and
19、packaged (see section 51, the pod shall withstand shocks, impacts from accidental dropping, and vibrations of logistic hand- ling and transportation without damage. 3.4.3.3 Storage life. The sway brace rein- forcement of the pod shall meet the applicable require- ments of figure 4 of Specification MIL-A-8591. 3.5.3 Cradlinp; reinforcement, The oradling reinforce- ment of the pod shall meet the applicable re
24、quirements of figure 5 of Specification MIL-A-8591. 3.6 Details of components. 3.6.1 mectrical system. 3.6.1.1 External power, The pod shall conform to Stand- ard MIL-STD-704, and shall meet all other requirements of this specification when furnished with external power as defined in Swndard MIL-STD
25、-704 and as follows: A 28 volt plus or minus 4.0 volt direct current, negative grounded power source capable of deliver- ing not less than 7.0 amperes during charging. A 120/208 volt, three-phase, 400 cycle alternating current power source capable of delivering not less than 2.0 amperes per phase on
26、 two phases during firing or 120 volt single phase at 4.0 amperes. (a) (b) 5 . The pod shall be capable of meeting the requirements of this specification w
27、hen wired in accorance with Specification MIL-W-5088 and installed in accorance with Specification MIL-E7080. ments of Specification MIL-B-5087 are not applicable to this specification. 3.6.1.3 Induced voltage. There shall be no induced volt- age in the pod electrical system at any time which could
28、energize the firing circuits and accidentally fire ammu- nition. The require- 3.6.2 Pneumatic system. 3.6.2.1 Tube assemblies. All tube assemblies shall with- stand a proof pressure of 6000 psig plus or minus 100 psig and shall meet the requirements of Specification MIL-P-5518. 3.6.2.2 Leakage. When
29、 the cutoff valve is closed, pres- sure loss measured at the reservoir assembly shall not ex- ceed 25 psig in 24 hours. When the cutoff valve is open, pressure loss measured at the reservoir assembly shall not be more than 100 psig in 24 hours. 3.6.2.3 System proof pressure. Upstream of the pressure
30、 regulator, the pod system shall withstand a proof pressure (relief reseat pressure) of 3300 psig plus or minus 100 psig. When the pressure regulator is set as specified in Drawing 2094307, the system shall withstand a proof pres- sure (lockup pressure) downstream of the regulator of 1500 psig maxim
31、um. 3.7 Performance characteristics. When tested as speci- fied in 4.6.3.1, the pod shall withskand the firing of the complete contents of four ammunition magazines without a stoppage, and shall meet the requirements of 3.4.2. 3.8 Temperature extremes. The pod shall meet the require- ments of 3.4.1
32、and 3.4.2 at any temperature between minus 65 degrees Fahrenheit (F.) and 165 degrees F. 3.9 Government-furnished property. The following, in quantities specified in the contract or order, are required to determine compliance of the pod with the requirements of this specification: Dummy Rounds, 20MM

35、3.11 Worknanship. The quality of workmanship on pod com- ponents and on the assembled pod shall assure conformance to all of the requirements of this specification. assembly of pod components into the pod shall be as spec- fied in FublIcation OF 2719, 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibili
36、ty for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or order, the supplier is re- sponsible for the performance of all inspection require- ments as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified, the supplier may utilize his own facilities or any commer- cial laboratory acceptable to the
37、Government. The Govern- ment reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in this specifcation where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure that supplies and servioes conform to prescribed requirements. 4.2 Classification of tests. The inspection and testing of the pod sha
38、ll be classified as follows: The Preproduction tests . Acceptance tests, 4.3 Lot. Lut definition, size, and formation shall be as spxfied in Standard MIL-STD1O5. 4.4 Samplinq. Unless otherwise specified herein, the provisions set forth in Standard MIL-STD15 shall govern the establishment of sampling
39、 plans and procedures for in- spection by attributes, 4.5 Examination. kC;,l Components. It shall be ascertained that packing and marking of the pod conform to section 5 of this specification. 4.6 Tests. 4.6.1 Acceptance tests. Sample pods, seleoted
41、 In ao- cordarice with 4.4, shall be subjeoted to the acceptance tests specified herein except that the tests of 4.6.1.3, 4.6b.4, 4.6.1b5, and h.6.i.6 shall be performed on each pod component or pod intended for delivery to the Govern- ment. Lot quality shall be as specified in 4.6.2. 4.6.1.1 Visual
42、 and mechanical inspection. The pod and gmd components shall be examined for conformance to 3.2, 3.3, and 3.11. 4.6.1.2 Pneumatic test procedure. The supplier shall prepare a pneumatic test procedure and shall submit test reports in accordance with the requirements of Specifi- cation MIL-T-5522. 4.6
43、.1.3 Tubina pressure tests. Prior to assembly into the pod, all tube assemblies shall be subjected to proof pres- sure tests in a burst chamber approved by the Government representative. The tube assemblies shall meet the re- quirements of 3.6.2.1. Following the tests, the tube assemblies shall be d
44、egreased and dust caps conforming to Specification ML-C-Cj501 shall be installed. 4.6.i.4 Leakage tests. With the manually operated valve in the off position, charge the pneumatic reservoir as specified in the instructions shown on the plate attached to the reservoir. After charging, the assembled p
45、od shall be allowed to stand for not less than four hours. Record temperature and pressure at the reservoir at the end of the four hour period. Read the temperature and pressure at the reservoir. After making a temperature-pressure correction, record the temperature and the corrected pressure. If pe
