This Specincation covers the quaiity assurance provisions and special requirements not covered by the drawings for one type of squib designated Mark 1

This section does not include documents cited in other sections of this specification or recommended for additional information or as examples. While every

REQUIREMENTS 3.1 First article. When specified (see 6.2), a sample shall be subjected to the first article inspection (see 6.3) i
15、n accordance with 4.3. 3.2 Material. Materials shall be in accordance with drawings and specifications specified herein. 33 Electrical continuity and resistance. The electrical circuit of each squib shall be continuous and shall meet the requirements of Drawing 233AS522. 3.4 Dielectric characteristi
16、cs. The resistance between the connected lead wires and the case shall be not less than 50 megohms. 3.5 No-fire sensitivity. The squib shall not fire when energized with 0.20 amperes, 24 volts direct current (dc) for 5.25 f 0.25 seconds. 3.6Firingtime.Whensubjectedto 1.5 *0.15 amperesdcat21.1*2.8Cel
17、sius (C),thesquibshallfue in 0.005 seconds or less. 3.7 pull test. The plug assembly (Drawing 233AS532) shall be of such quaiity as to withstand a 10 to 10.1 pound (lb) puil test on the individual leads. 3.8 Load test. The bridge wire assembly (Drawing 233AS534) shall have a sound electrical and mec
18、hanical joint that will not break when subjected to a 25 to 27 gram load test. 3.9 Output limits. A closed bomb test shall be used to measure the output pressure limits of the squib (see 4.9.7). When subjected to 1.5 * 0.15 amperes dc fhg current applied across the lead Wires at 70 f 5 degrees Fahre
19、nheit (OF) (21.1 f 2.8 degrees Celsius (OC), the squib shall fire within 0.005 second or less of current appiidon and the maximum output pressure produced by the squib shali be 220 through 455 pounds per square inch gage (psig). 3.10 Jolt resistance. The squib shall withstand the jolt test as specif
20、ied in 4.9.8.1. Thereafter, it shall meet the requirements of 3.3 and 3.4 and shali fire in accordance with 4.9.4 in 0.005 smnds or less. 3.11 Vibration resistance. The squib shdi withstand the vibration test as specified in 4.9.8.2. Thereafter, it shall meet the requirements of 3.3 and 3.4 and shal
21、l fue in accordance with 4.9.4 in 0.005 seconds or less. 3.12 Watertightness. All parts shall be fabricated and fished in a thorough, workmanlike manner. They shall be free of burrs, chips, sharp edges, cracks, unblended radii, surface defects
23、, metal shavings, dirt, grease, xust, comision products and other foreign mat&. The cleaning mehod used shall not be injurious to any part nor shall the parts be contaminated by the cleaning agent. Ali required markings shall be neat and sharply defined. Known item defects shall not be submitted wit
24、h the lot. 4. VERIFICATION 4.1 Ciassiidon of inspections. The inspection requirements specified herein are classified as follows: a. b. First article inspection (see 4.3) Quality codormance inspection (see 4.4): 4.2 Inspection conditions. Unless otherwise specified, all inspections shall be performe
25、d in accordance with 4.6.2. 4.3 First article inspection. 4.3.1 First article sample. The contractor shall submit a first article sample as designated by the cmtracting officer for evaluation m accordance with the provisions of 4.3.2. The first article sample shall consist of 1000 assemblies and 50
26、complete sets of parts &e., 50 each of evq component, and every subassembly) which bave been produced by the contractor or furnished by a supplier and which have been manufactured using the sameproucionprocesses, procedures and equipment which will be used in fulfilling the contract. All parts and d
27、ah, including packaging and packing, shall be obtained Com the same source of supply as will be used in regular production. Prior to submission, the contractor shall inspect the sample to the degree necessary to assure hat it dm to the requirements of the contract and submit a record of this inspect
28、ion with the sample, including statements of findings/certificates of conformance for materials, (see 4.5.c.). A sample containing known defects will not be submitted dess specifically authorized, by the contracting officer. A first article, or portion thereoc as directed by the contracthg officer,
29、shall also be submitted whenever there is a lapse in production for a period greater than 90 days or whenever a change occurs in manufacturing process, materials used, drawing or specification such as to significantly afect product unifomity as determined by the G0V-t. 43.2 Inspecons to be performed

Fdly percent of the squibs for the first article testing shall demonstrate operability when tested at -53.9 f 2.8
32、OC and the remaining 50 percent when tested at 73.9 * 2.8 OC. 4.3.3 Rejection. If any assembly or component fails to comply with any of the requirements, the first dcle sample shall be rejected. The Govemment reserves the right to terminate its inspection upon any failure of any assembly or componen
33、t to comply with any of the staid requirements. 4.4 Quaiity conformance inspection. Quality conformance inspections shall be as specified in table 1, the applicable drawings as specified herein, and as specified by the contractbg officer (see 6.2). TABLE I. At the time each completed lot of items deliverable under the contract is submied to the Govenmigis for acceptancey the contractor shall supply the following information accompanied by a certificate which attests that the idomation provided is correct and a

In thi
40、s specikation the term inspection lot refers to an essentially homogeneous collection of units or product fiom which a representative sample is drawn and inspected to determine cordomauce of the lot with applicable requirements. The sample selected shall represent only that quantity of uuits hm whic
41、h the sample was dram and shaU not be construed to represent any prior or subsequent quantities presented for inspection. Homogeneity shaU be considered to exist provided the lot has been produd by one manufacturer, in one unchanged process, in accordance with the same &awing, specifications, or rev
42、ision thereof. Changes to either the process, specification or drawing not affecting safety, performance, interchangability, or storage, as determined by the Government inspector, shall not be deemed to alter the homogeneity of the lot. Inspection lots shall be numbered in accordance with MIL-STD-11
43、68. Unless otherwise approved by the contract& officer, the inspection lot size of major assemblies or end items deliverable under the contract shall not be less than the smallest estimate of quantities contractualy scheduled for production during the contract period nor more than the largest quanti
44、ty contractually scheduled for delivery during any month of the contract period. Inspecm lots for components or sub-assemblies, other than the items of delivery, shall be homogeneous and of a size convenient to the contractor. 4.6.2 Examination. The examinations specifkd herein shall be performed on
45、 inspection lots (see 4.6.1) of the components or assemblies in the applicable paragraph headings. Inspection for critical defects (and major defects when so specified) shall be 100 percent. a. Sampling PZans. Sampling plans shall be in accordance with tables II through VIII of this spedcation. Samp
46、ling plans for major defects sha be in accordance with sampling plans specified herein, except that variable sampling plans in accordance with MIL-STD-414 may be used if requested by the contractor and approved by the contracting officer. b. Critical Defects. Unless otherwise specified, inspection f
47、or critical defects shall be 100 percent. c. Major Defects. When required, major defects shall be inspected 100 percent. Except where 100 percent inspection is specied, inspection for major defects shall be to the individual sampiing plan tables indicated in the classification of defects and test pa
48、ragraphs provided in this detail specification. The sampling plans for testing (see 4.8) shall be as specified. d. Unlisted Defects. See MIL-A-2550. e. Individual Defects. Instead of applying the sampling plans designated herein to the individual defects, the group sampling plans listed for each maj
49、or subparagraph in 4.6.2 may be used at the option of the contractor for those groups where a group sampling plan is assigned. Each group sampling plan applies to a major pup indicated in the subparagraphs of paragraph 4.6.2, and if this method is elected, it shall be used for all of the subparagraphs of paragraph 4.6.2, where group sampling plans are so designated for this purpose. 7 Provided by IHSNot for ResaleNo reproduct
