The individual item requirements shall be as specifiedherein and in accordance with the applicable specification sheet. In the event of anyconflict between the requirements of this specification and the speci

、fication sheet, the latter shall govern.3.2 Qualification. Fiber optic splices furnished under this specification shall beproducts that are authorized by the qualifying activity for listing on the applicablequalified products list before contract award (see 4.5 and 6.3). The provisions of4.5.4 for re

、tention of qualification are included in this requirement.3.3 Materials. The splice shall be constructed of materials as specified herein andin the specification sheet (see 3.1). In all cases, materials selected for spliceusage shall meet all qualification requirements as specified, and be of a type

、 andquality to assure physical, chemical and optical compatibility with the requirementsof this specification. All materials used shall be nontoxic (see 3.3.1), non-nutrientto fungus (see 3.3.8), and manufactured to good workmanship quality (see 3.8). Forspace flight applications, materials shall no

、t release in excess of 1 percent totalmass loss or 0.1 percent collected volatile condensable materials when tested inaccordance with ASTM-E-595.3.3.1 Toxic and hazardous products and formulations. The products used in thesplice construction shall not give off toxic or explosive fumes when exposed t

、o flame.Materials used shall have no adverse effect on the health of personnel when used forthe intended purpose.3.3.2 Interior parts. The materials used for splice interior parts shall provide 20year service. No incompatibility shall exist between the materials employed such thatdegradation of thes
