12、ns for preproduotion testing, 3.2 - Unit - One complete Radiosonde Receptor AN/AMR-3 shall consist of ali integrated electronic circuits and subassemblies necessary for operational capabilities as prescribed herein, The unit ehall not, however, include racks or patch cable sets, Racks and patch cabl
13、e sets shall be procured as separate items, 3.3 General specification - The requirements of Specification ML- E-5400 shall apply as requirements of this specification with the following additions or exceptions to the paragraphs of Specification MIL-E4400 as identified by similarity of paragraph head
14、ings, Where the requirements of the general specifi- cation and this specification conflict, the requirements of this specification shall govern. 3.3.1 Approval of parts and materials (category DI as listed in Specification MIL-E-5400). - Where possible, miniature parts and tubes shall be used. 3.3,
15、1,1 The sample parts and quantities required -ahall be specified by the procuring activity after the preliminary list of electronic parts has been sub- mitted and reviewed The contractor shall test the specified nonstandard parts and materials prior to the submission of the items to the procuring ac
16、tivity for approval. The test conducted shall be all the appropriate tests of the specification applicable to the particular items as determined by ANA Bulletin 143. The results of the tests shall be reported to the procuring activity, in duplicate, using the non- standard part data sheet contained
17、in Specification MIL-E-6400, for each non- standard part, Test data and comments, item 12, of the data sheet shall contain (a) the complete detailed test procedure used and (b) test data processed.to a form which yields direct comparison between the requirements and the test results, The sample nons
18、tandard parts on which the contractor conducted his test shall be submitted to the procuring activity together with nonstandard part data sheets. The description shall adequately describe the part as indicated in the following paragraph. 3.3.1.2 Preliminary list of electronic parts - The preliminary
19、 list of electronic parts shall indicate all component detail parts affecting electrical characteristics, The list shall be used as check list for determining compliance with parts, material, and process requirements of Specification MGE-5400. The preliminary list of electronic parts shall contain a

Manufacturers name, catalog number, and MIL type designation d, An accurate description of the part or material, in- cluding the following: (1) Number of the standard specification (MIL, EIA, etcetera under which the part or materi
22、al was manufactured (2) Electrical and mechanical ratings (3) Special features of construction (4) Materials used (type, grade, composition, etcetera) (5) Type of insulation, dielectric, etcetera (6) Type of finish or covering (7) Details of spring materials, contacts, etcetera (8) Details of tropic

Each page of the list shall be numbered and dated Final approval of the equipment required by this specification 3.3.1.3 shall be contingent upon approval of all components and parts by the procuring activity . 3.3.2 Connectors - Internal connectors shall conform to Specificatio

25、333b47 O MIL-R-25 669A(USAF) 3.3.4 Fungus treatment.- Fungus-inert materials and parts shall be used to the greatest extent possible. Over-all spray or brushing shall not be used. Any materials or parts which must be used that are not in themselves inert to fungus growth shall be treated individuall
26、y, unless they are within her- metically sealed cases. Fungistatic varnish, if used, shall be type II in accordance with Specification MIL-V-173. 3.3.5 Meters (electrical indicating instruments 1 - only ruggedized meters shall be acceptable in accordance with Specification MIL-M-10304. 3.3.6 Relays
27、- Relays shall be hermetically sealed and shall be in - accordance with Specification MIL-R-25018 or MIL-R-6106. 3.3.7 Transformers and inductors (audio and power) - Transformers and inductors shall be in accordance with Specification MIL-E-5400 except that in addition, the dielectric strength test
28、shall be performed at 3.54 inches of mercury. 3.3.8 Wire (hookup) - Wire in accordance with Specification MIL-W- 5274 or MIL-W-8777 shall be used where high insulation resistance is dictated by circuit design, 3.3.9 - Life - The 200-hour life requirements of Specification MIL-E- 5400 shall be as mod
29、ified hereinafter by reliability requirements. Parts requiring servicing or replacement at the end of the 200-hour interval shall be specified by the contractor. 3.3.9.1 The equipment shall have a minimum total operating life of 1,000 hours with reasonable servicing and replacement of parts, Parts r
30、equiring servicing or replacement within this interval and the life of such parts shall be specified by the contractor. 3.3.10 Maintenance provisions - 3.3.10.1 Chassis test points and built-in test facilities - Test points and built-in test facilities shall be included in the design of the receptor
31、 and shall be in accordance with Specification MIL-T-25453. 3.3.10.2 The receptor shall be so constructed that no damage to any component or any undue distortion to any structural member will be caused by placing any of the six sides of the receptor on a flat surface. The receptor structure without

33、es shall be style F05 or F06 in accordance with Specification MIL-F-15160. 3.3.12 Service conditions (electrical) - 3.3.12.1 The receptor shall perform as specified herein when operated during the cruise-combat conditions from a type 1 system in accordance with Specification MIL-E-7894, except that
34、the power source shall be 108 to 121 volts, phase to neutral. 3.3.12.2 Where d-c power is required, the receptor shall perform as specified herein over the range of 25 to 29 volts, and the power shall be used only for the variable intensity red panel lighting specified in 3.5.5. 3.3.12.3 Power ratin
35、gs - The power required by the receptor shall not exceed 400 volt amperes from the 380 to 420 cps source and the wattage from the d-c source shall not exceed that required for the variable intensity red panel lighting. 3.3.12.4 Power source transients - The receptor shall be designed so that no dama
36、ge or degradation in performance shall result from the transient test specified herein. 3.3.12.5 The starting relay and extra connector contact shall not be required within the receptor when the ON-OFF switch is located on the same major subassembly which is provided with the input power connector.
37、3.3.13 Service conditions (environmental) - Class 1 equipment requirements of Specification MIL-E-5400 shall apply. 3.3.13.1 Temperature - The receptor shall perform as specified herein with uncontrolled humidity at operating temperature. 3.3.13.2 Humidity - The receptor shall perform as specified h
38、erein at relative humidity varying from 5 to 100 percent including condensation at any temperature up to 50“ C (122 F). 3.3.13.3 Sand and dust - For items normally installed within enclosed aircraft spaces, sand and dust requirements shall apply as a design objective but no sand and dust test shall

40、which are not accessible during flight. During the first 20 hours of the 100 hour period, no adjustment of any control shall be permitted. 3,3,15 Nameplates - Nameplates shall conform as closely as practicable to MS24123. Both rack and receptor shall be furnished with name- plates, 3,3,16 Reliabilit
41、y - The contractor shall establish a reliability program in accordance with Specification MIL-R-25717. The requirements therein shall be applicable to this equipment. 3,3,16.1 Quantitative requirements - in order to insure that the military mission of this equipment will have a predictable, high per
42、centage chance of #ucesEI, and based upon the current state-of-the-art for achieving this requirement with the degree of equipment complexity taken into consideration, the quantitative requirement for reliability for the production equipments shall be that: (a) The equipment shall provide the specif
43、ied performance under the specified service conditions without fault or part failures (see section 6) for extended periods of time, Racticable preventive maintenance procedures shall be allowable. (b) in order to prove that an adequate extended period of failure-free operation has been achieved, tes
44、ts of 200 operating hours or more lunder specifiedtest conditions shall be performed on an initial quantity of equip- ment from each production run. (c) The mean-time-between-failures (see section 6) shall be proposed by the contractor and shall be subject to approval by the procuring activity, When
45、 failures occur they shall be corrected and the tests resumed to obtain additional failure observations, 3.4 Receptor design - The receptor shall be designed and con- structed for installation and use in aircraft and shall be capable of receiving and recording on chart paper, radiosonde signals as t
46、ransmitted by Radiosonde AN/AMT-6 at a distance equal to the maximum line-of-sight range to be en- countered by an aircraft flying at an altitude of 60,000 feet m.s.1. (mean sea level). The major subassemblies shall consist of the following: (a) R, F. Tuner * (b) I-f strip* (c) Video chassis and aut

These seven major suba
48、ssemblies shall be separate integral subassembly units so that each may be individually replaced as a unit. All subassemblies shall be combined into a single package of the weight and dimensions prescribed herein. 3.5 Receptor performance - 3.5.1 Receiver - 3.5.1.1 Input signal - The receiver shall
49、be capable of receiving an input signal having the following characteristics: (a) Frequency - 403 * 8 mc (b) Duration - 10 f 0.5 usec (c) Repetition rate - 20 to 550 pps 3.5.1.2 Threshold sensitivity - The threshold sensitivity of the re- ceiver shall be 5 microvolts or better over the range of frequencies and repetition rates specified in 3.5.1.1. The output of the receiver at such signal level shall be substantially no
