9、00 -_ _ _- 3.6 Workmanship. The requirements for workmanship are as specified on the appli- cable drawings, referenced specifications and the following: 3.6.1 Metal defects. All components shall be free from cracks, splits, cold shuts, inclu- sions, porosity or any similar defect. 3.6.2 Burr. No par
10、t shall have a burr which might interfere with the assembly or function of the item or which might be in- jurious to personnel handling the item. 3.6.3 Foreign matte? No part or assembly shall contain chips, dirt, grease, rust, corro- sion or other foreign matter. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1
11、 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or pur- chase order, the supplier is responsible for the performance of all inspection require- ments as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified, the supplier may utilize his own facilities or any commercial laborator
12、y acceptable to the Government. The Govern- ment reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.1.1 Quaiity assurance terms and defini- tions. Refere
13、nce shall be made to Standard MIL-STD-109 to define the quality assur- ance terms used. 4.1.2 Inspection. The product shall be submitted in accordance with Stand- ard MIGSTD-105 or Standard MIL-STD- 414, as applicable. 1.2.1.2 Size of lot. A lot shall consist of aii identifiable grou
15、p of assembled units con- taining metal parts assemblies produced by ,a homogeneous process and loaded with a sin- gle lot of cartridges. 4.2.2 Examination. One hundred percent examination shall be performed for all criti- cal defects. Examination for major and minor defects shall be performed on a
16、defect basis in accordance with the classification of defects contained herein using the sampling plan and associated criteria in table m. The total number of allowable defects per ciass for eiher the major or minor classification shall not exceed the acceptance number of table III. All nonconformin

30、ith 4.3, except. as provided in Specification MT& 1-46208. 4.2.3.1 Greakioay torque. The breakway torque shall be applied to each threaded joint listed in 3.2. Failure of any remover to com- ply with the requirements of 3.2, table I shall be cause for rejection of the remover. 4.2.3.3 Residtiui magn
31、etism. Each remover sha!l be tested for excessive residual magRe- tism. Failure of any remover to comply with the requirement of 3.4 shall be cause for rejection of the remover. 4.2.3.3 Functioti. The following tests shall be performed by the Government: 4.2.3.3.1 Ballistic. Fourteen units shall be
32、tested to determine compliance with the re- quirements of 3.5.1, 3.5.3 and 3.6.4. The remo7:ers shall be temperature conditioned as provided in table IV and 4.3.3.1.1. The vari- ables sampling plan of Standard PClIL-sTD- 414, example C-2, for the AQL listed in table IV shall be used for each sample
33、of 10 units. Failure of any unit to comply with the re- quirements of 3.5.1, 3.5.3 and 3.6.4 or failure of a sample to meet the criteria of the vari- ables sampling plan shall be cause for rejec- tion of the lot. 4.2.3.3.2 Locked shut. Two removers from each lot shall be tested locked shut (see 6.3)

The examina- tion and tests shall be made using equipment listed o
35、n IEL-8595439, except as provided in Specification Nn-I+I6208. 4.3 Test methods and procedures. 4.3.1 Breakway torque. A torque wrench, set at the torque requirements specified in 3.2, shall be used to determine the adequacy of the joint. The torque shall be applied to the firing head, cap and sleev
36、e respectively with the unit secured in the device. 4.3.2 ResZdzta! nulgnetism. The remover shal1 be tested in an area free of local mag- netic effects, by placing the remover 6 inches from and at the same height as the compa-ss, in a north-south horizontal position (firing head end at south) with t
37、he compass set in an east-west heading as shown in figure 1. The remover shall be moved slowly past the com- pass in a longitudinal direction for its entire length, rotated 180 degrees in the horizontal position about its longitudinal axis and moved slowly back past the compass. 4.3.3 Function. 4.3.
38、3.1 Ballistics. The test sample shall be rigidly supported by the mounting points and fired with an M3A1 Initiator connected to the remover with 10 feet of aircraft hose, size 4, Standard MS-28741. The sample shall be tested within 10 minutes after removal from the conditioning chamber. When this ti
39、me limit is exceeded, the sample shall be re- conditioned at the original temperature. 4.3.3.1.1 Temperature conditioning. A standard M4 Remover, loaded with a dummy M29A2 Cartridge, containing a temperature sensitive element shall be placed in the con- ditioning chamber at the same time as the samp
40、les. The conditioning time shall be a minimum of one hour longer than the time necessary to bring the element contained in the dummy cartridge to the required tem- perature. 4.3.3.2 Locked shut. Two removers shall be temperature conditioned h accordance with 4.3.3.1.1 and as follows: one remover at
41、160 degrees F. to 165 degrees F., and the other at miiias 65 degrees F. to minus 70 degrees F. “he test samples shall be rigidly supported at the mounting points and the tubes shall be restrained from moving. The test samples shall be fired with an M3A1 Initiator connected to the remover with 10 fee
42、t of aircraft hose, size 4, Standard MS- 28741. 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Packing and marking.
