SCOPE 1. 1 Scope. -This specification covers rectangular frame, refriger- ator car dolly trucks, equipped with 24 load wheels and 4 steer wheels. Refrigerator car dolly
2、 trucks are used for manual movement of pallet loads of material over smooth, rough or slatted floors for short distances, where maneuverability and rugged design are required to insure safe, efficient, and economical operation under extended service conditions. 1. 2 Classification. -Refrigerator ca

12、e submitted for examination, inspection, and test, to determine compliance with all provisions of this specification. The first refrigerator car dolly produced under the terms of a contract, following notice of award, may be submitted for approval as a prepro- duction sample, and approval shall be o
13、btained prior to fabrication of subsequent items. Fabrication of additional items prior to approval of the preproduction sample will be at the contractors risk and such additional items are subject to rejection in the event they fail to meet the requirements of this specification. The preproduction
14、sample refriger- ator car dolly, if conforming to this specification, will be used as a measurement guide for all dollies subsequently manufactured for a given contract under this specification, and will be presented for inspection as the last unit for delivery under the contract. Examination and te
15、sting, wherever practicable, will be conducted at the manufacturers plant by a representative of the Contracting Officer and the delivery schedule, under the terms of the contract, will be automatically extended in an amount equal to, but not exceeding, the time required for such testing and examina
16、tion. The time for testing is estimated at less than 15 days. 3.1.2 Material. -Materials shall be as specified herein.
