Number per container is more or less than required; gross or net weight exceeds the require- ments. 4.7.2 Leakage - The test fixture (4.6.3) shall be assembled as shown on Figure 1 and installed in test stand shown on Figure 4. Adjust control val
7、ve to prodwe a suction of 1 inch of water on the inlet side of the valve and maintain this condition for a minimum period of 2 minutes. During this period, the leakage through the valve shall be read on the manometer and the valve shall pass the requirements specified in 3.5.1. The test procedure sh

9、f test procedures, i permissible leakage limits are exceeded, the valve shall be rinsed in distilled water and then dried thoroughly using clean dry air to remove any lint that may be on the valve seat. The leakage test procedure shall then be repeated. 4.7.3 Pressure drop - The test fixture (4. 6.
10、3) shall be assembled as shown on Figure 1 and installed in test stand shown on Figure 5. Adjust control valve so that a pressure of 10 inches of water shall be applied to the inlet side of the valve and to produce a flow of 50 liters per ininute through the valve in the tiormal direction of flow. T
11、hese conditions shall be maintained for a iiiinimum period of 2 minutes. During this period, the pressure drop through the valve shall be read on the manometer and the valve shall pass the requirements specified in 3.5.2. 4.7.4 Altitude operation - Valves shall be installed in oxygen masks conformin
12、g to MIL-M-6482. The masks shall be worn by 5 subjects and they shall be subjected to simulated flight conditions from sea level to 43,000 feet altitude. During this test, the valves shall pass the requirements specified in 3.5.3. 4.7.5 Low temperature operation - A valve shall be installed in the t
13、est fixture (4.6.3) as shown on Figure 1. The test fixture and valve shall then be placed in a test chamber and conditioned at a temperature of -20 +5“ F for 3 hours. After conditioning, and while still at this temperature, the valve shall be these test procedures, the valve shall be returned to roo

Upon completion of 4.7.6 High temperature operation - A valve shall be installed in the test fixture (4* 6.3) as shown on Figure 1. The test fixture
15、 and valve shall then be placed in a test chamber and conditioned at a temperature of +I60 f5 F for 3 hours. After conditioning, and while still at this temperature, the valve shall be subjected to and pass the requirements of the leakage test. Upon completion of these test procedures, the valve sha
16、ll be returned to room temperature and shall then be subjected to and pass the requirements of the leakage test. 4.7.7 Ozone-resistance - The test slabs submitted for qualification . shall be tested for ozone resistance. The test apparatus shall be in accordance with ASTM 3lei.hod No. D1149. The tes

PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY . 5.1 Packaging - Packaging shall be Level A or C, as specified in the contract or order (see 6.2). 5.1.1 Level A - Unless otherwise specifie
20、d, each valve shall be pre- served aid packaged in accordance with MIL-P-116, Method IC-3. shall be cleaned in accordance with Process C-1 except that cleaning by immersion in solvent shall be prohibited. Immediately after cleaning, the valve shall be sealed within a transparent film bag, minimum fi
21、lm thickness of., 0015 inch, con- forming to MIL-B-22205, Type III. MIGF-22191, paragraph 3.4.1, is not mandatory. The bagged valve shall be suitably cushioned and packaged within a close fitting set up or folding paperboard box conforming to PPP-B-566 or PPP-B-676. Each valve The continuous line ma
22、rking requirement of 5.1.2 Intermediate packing - Unless otherwise specified, twenty-four valves, packaged asspecified in 5.1.1, shall be packaged within an intermediate fiberboard box, conforming to PPP-B-636, Class - Weather resistant, Grade W6C. The closure and sealing shall be accomplished in ac
23、cordance with the applicable requirements in the appendix to PPP-B-636, 5.1.3 Level C - Each valve shall be preserved and packaged in a manner that will prevent physical damage and corrosion during transit from the supply source to the first receiving activity. 24、y be utilized when it conforms to the criteria stated herein. 5.2 Packing - Packing shall be Level A, B or C, as specified in the contract or order (see 6.2). Insofar as practicable, shipping containers shall effect a close fit, contain identical quantities and be of uniform configuration. 5.2.1 Lev
25、el A - Valves packaged as specified in 5.1.1 and 5.1.2 shall be packed for shippent within fiberboard containers conforming to PPP- B-636, Class- Weather resistant, Grade V3S or V3C, or plywood conforming to PPP-B-601, weather- resistant class, as specified (see 6.2). The cure date of the elastomer com- ponent as well as the contract or order number shall appear on the

NOTES 6.1 Intended use - The inlet check valve is intended for use as a component of press
32、ure breathing oxygen masks conforming to MILhI-6482. 6.2 Ordering data - Procurement documents should specify the following : (a) Title, number, and date of this specificatioii. (b) Whether first article inspection is waived (see 4.4.1). (c) Name and address of the first article inspection . laborat
33、ory (see 4.4.1). (d) Whether test equipment, other than specified, may be used (see 4.6.4). (e) Selection of applicable levels of preservation, packaging, and packing. (f) Applicable shipping container for LevelA packing (see 5.2,l). (2) Applicable methods of cleaning and preservation. (h) Items of

NavAir Form 4200/25 (Drawings, Lists, and Specifications Required) shall be attached where applicable. 6.4 With respect to products requiring qualification, awards will be made only for products which are at the time set for opening of bids, qualified for inclusion in
37、 the applicable Qualified Products List whether or not such products have actually been so listed by that date. The attention of suppliers is called to this requirement, and mmufacturers are urged to arrange to have the products that they propose to offer to the Federal Government tested for qualifi
38、cation in order that they may be eligible to be awarded contracts or orders for the products covered by this specification. The activity responsible for the Qualified Products List is the Com- mander, Naval Air Systems Command, Department of the Navy, Washington, D. C. 20360; however, authorization
39、for qualification of products shall be obtained from the Commanding Officer, Naval Air Development Center, Johnsville, Warminster, Penn- sylvania 18974, Attention: Director, Aerospace Crew Equipment Department. Prior to submission of the samples for qualification inspection, the manufacturer shall s
40、ub- mit a request to the Aerospace Crew Equipment Department indicating a date Qn which the samples can be forwarded and also request an authorization number to ac- company the samples. 6.4.1 When requested, the manufacturer shall submit engineering drawings and inspection reports in accordance with
