In the event of a conflict between the text of thi S document and the references cited herein, the text of this document takes precedence. 14、less a specific exemption has been obtained. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 First article. When specified (see 6.21, a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection (see 6.3) in accordance with 4.3, 3.2 Materials. Materials shall conform to applicable specifications and shall be as specified herein and
15、 on applicable drawings. Materials which are not covered by specifications, or which are not specifically described herein, shall be of the lightest practicable weight, and suitable for the purpose intended. 3.2.1 Age. Elastomer components, except silicone, shall be not more than 12 months old from
16、cure date of malufacture to the date of delivery to any Government service or accessory valufacturer. 3.2.2 Elastomer components. “he elastomer components shall be composed of an ozone resistant composition whi-h shall not bloom and shall meet the specified ozone resistant performance requirements.
17、3.2.3 Metal parts. All metal parts shall be of a corrosion-resistant material or treated in a manner to render them adequately resistant to corrosion. 3.2.3.1 Dissimilar metals. Urlless suitably protected against electrolytic 5 corrosion, dissimilar metals shall iot be used in intimate contact with
18、each other. Dissimilar metals are definad in MIL-STD-889. 3.2.4 Protective treatment. hhen materials are used in the construction of the valve cores that are subject t-I deterioration when exposed to environmental conditions likely to occur during service usage, they shall be protected against such
19、deterioration in a manner that will in no way prevent compliance with the performance requirements of this soecification. Protective coating which might crack, chip, or scale during normal service life or under extremes of environmental conditions shall n-3t be used. 3 Licensed by Information Handli

The design and construction of the valve core shall be in accordance with the configuration and dimensions shown on Figure 1 0 and as required to perform as specified herein, when oriented in any position. The valve core shall be designed for a pre
21、ssure rating of 2,100 psig. 3.3.1 Threads. Screw threads shall conform to FED-STD-H28/1. 3.4 Performance. 3.4.1 thru 4.6.1 speci f i cat 3.4.2 liters per * 3.4.3 ,001 1 /m W Visual examination. When visually examined as specified in 4.6.1.1 3, the valve core shall conform to the requirements of this
22、 on. Flow capacity. THe flow through the valve core shall be at 1 east 50 minute (l/m) when tested as specified in 4.6.2. Leakage (low pressure). The valve core leakage shall not exceed en tested as specified in 4.6.3. * 3.4.4 Leakage (high pressure). The valve core 1 eakage shall not exceed 0.01 l/
23、m when tested as specified in 4.6.4. 3.4.5 Endurance. The valve core shall pass the requirements specified in 3.4.4 when tested as specified in 4.6.5. or deterioration when tested as specified in 4.6.6. O 3.4.6 Oxygen bomb test. The valve core shall show no evidence of charring 3.4.7 Ozone resistanc
24、e. The elastomer test slabs shall not show any evidence of checking, cracking, or other damage when tested as specified in 4.6.7. * 3.5 Cleani ng. The valve core shall be oxygen clean in accordance with MIL-STD-1359 with the cleanliness test method for category 1. After completion of the cleaning an
25、d when assembled, a Halogen or Halide detector having a minimum sensitivity of not less than 3 X standard cc/second shall be used to detect solvent residue. The valve core shall be packaged as specified in 5,l. * 3.6 Marking. The valve core shall be marked for identification in accordance wi th MIL-
26、STD-130, 3.7 Workmanship. The workmanship shall be of a quality that will produce valve cores that are free of any defect or irregularities which could affect performance, re1 i abi 1 i ty, or durabi 1 i ty. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS * 4.1 Responsibillty for inspection. Unless otherwise specif
27、ied in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements (examinations and tests) as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any other faci li ties sui table fo

29、e such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and servi ces conform to prescribed requirements. * 4.1.1 Responsibility for compliance. All items must meet all requirements of Sections 3 and 5. The inspections set forth in this specification shall become a part of the contractor S overal
30、l inspection system or qual i ty program. The absence of any inspection requirements in the specification shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of assuring that al 1 products or supplies submitted to the Government for acceptance comply with al 1 requirements of the contract. Sampli
31、ng inspection, as part of manufacturing operations, is an acceptable practice to ascertain conformance to requirements, however thi S does not authorize submission of known defective material, either indicated or actual, nor does it commit the Government to acceptance of defective material. 4.2 Clas
32、sification of inspection. The inspection requirements specified herein are classified as follows: a. First article inspection (see 4.3) b. Quality conformance inspection (see 4.4) * 4.3 First article inspection. First article inspection shall consist of the examinations and tests specified in Table
33、I. 4.3.1 First article samples. Unless otherwise specified, as soon as practicable after award of a contract or order, the manufacturer shall submit four valve cores and four elastomer test slabs, six by six by 0.075 inch composed of the identical composition and cure that was used to manufacture th
34、e elastomeric components. The samples shall be representative of the construction, workmanship, components and materials to be used during production. When a manufacturer is in continuous production of these valve cores from contract to contract, submission of further first article samples on the ne
35、w contract may be waived at the discretion of the acquiring activity (see 6.2d). Approval of the first article inspection samples or the waiving of the first article inspection does not exclude the requirements of submitting to the quality conformance inspection. The first article samples shall be f
36、urnished to the Government as directed by the contracting officer (see 6.2e). 4.3.1 .1 First article information. Upon completion of the first article inspection program, the Government activity responsible for conducting the inspection program (see 6.2e) shall report to the contracting officer the
37、results of the inspection program, with appropriate recommendations. 4.3.1.2 First article sample disposition. The samples will be destroyed during the inspection program and will not be returned to the contractor. 4.4 Quality conformance inspection. Quality conformance inspection shall consist of t
38、he examinations and tests specified in Table II. The sampling and inspection levels and acceptance criteria shall conform to MIL-STD-105. 4.4.1 Sampl ing. 4.4.1.1 Inspection test. 5 Licensed by Information Handling ServicesMIL-V-8965B 4.4.1.1.1 Valve core, An inspection lot size shall be expressed i
39、n units of one valve core made under essentially the same conditions and from the Same material S and components. 4.4.1.1.2 Packaging. An inspection lot size shall be expressed in units of one fully prepared shipping container, containing valve cores, fully prepared for delivery, made from essential
40、ly the same materials and components. The sample unit shall be one shipping container, containing valve cores, fully prepared for delivery with the exception that it need not be sealed. 4,4.1,2 Sampling for tests and examinations of the valve cores. The sample size, acceptance cri teria, test and ex
41、aminations required for the valve cores shall be as specified in Table II. 4.5 Test conditions. 4.5.1 Unless otherwise specified, the gas used in testing the valve cores shall be oi 1 free ni trogen, 99.95% pure, in accordance with BB-N-411 , Type I, Grade A, Cl ass I. 4.5.2 Temperature and pressure
42、. Unless otherwise specified, tests shall be conducted at local ambient temperature and barometric pressure. The temperature and barometric pressure shall be recorded at the time of inspection, This information shall be available for computation of test data, where required, to normal temperature an
43、d pressure (NTP) conditions. NTP conditions are 29.92 inches of mercury and 70F. Test instruments shall be calibrated or adjusted according to their required usage in conducting individual tests. 4.5.3 Test housing. During the performance of tests specified herein, the valve core shall be installed
44、in a test housing conforming to the body of MS22066 valve, The val ve core shall be torqued to 2 to 3 inch-pounds and shall not be retorqued during test. 4.6 Inspection methods. 4.6.1 Visual examination. 4.6.1.1 Valve core. Every valve core shall be visually examined for free movement of parts (see
45、figure 1, markings, cleanliness, condition of threads, and workmanship. 4.6.1.2 Dimensions. Every valve core shall be measured to determine that the dimensions are as specified herein. Any nonconformance shall be cause for rejection of the valve core. 4.6.1.3 Packaging. Each of the fully prepared sh
46、ipping containers, containing valve cores, selected as a sample unit from the lot, shall be examined to determine that the packagi ng, packing and marking conform to thi S specification. A flow of gas shall be passed through the housing under a measured and shall meet the requirements in 3.4.2. 0 constant pressure of 200 psig. The rate
48、 of flow through the housing shall be 4.6.3 Leakage (low pressure). A source of gas shall be connected to the outlet end of the test housing. The gas pressure shall be increased to at least 5 psig. While the pressure is constant, the leakage through the test housing shall be measured and shall meet
49、the requirements specified in 3.4.3. 4.6.4 Leakage (high pressure). The valve core shall be subjected to the high pressure leakage test under the conditions specified in 4.6.4.1, 4.6.4.2 and 4.6.4.3. A source of gas shall be connected to the outlet end of the test housing.The gas pressure shall be increased to values of 100 psig, 1000 psig, 2000 psig, and 3000 psig. Hi th a constant pressure at each of these values, the leakage through the test housing shall be measured and shall meet the requirements specified in 3.4.4. 4.6.4.1 Room temperature. The valve core shall be installed in a
