Set forth some of the properties of these products and assist in selecting and obtaining the proper product for a particular need. User needs have been considered during

18、r steel, approximately 8 in. x 12 in. x 1 in. (200 mm x 300 mm x 25 mm). The bed shall have a V-groove depth to support the sample. 19、on approximately 9/64 in. (3.5 mm). These dimensions provide a groove width of approximately in. (12 mm). All edges shall be rounded to a radius of approximately 0.06 in. 20、xiliary equipment for the tup release, tup elevation, and the like, meets the intent of the requirement. 5.6 RESISTANCE TO MECHANICAL ABUSE (BENDING) 5.6.1 Test Method 1 A 30 in. (750 mm) length of ENT for each trade size shall be bent 90 around a mandrel with a radius as specified in Table 4. Tensi
21、on shall be applied to the specimen under test as necessary to cause the ENT to conform closely to the curved surface. Distortion of the internal circular cross-section shall be determined by the free passage of a sphere or equivalent through the bore of the ENT. The sphere diameter shall be as spec
22、ified in Table 5. 5.6.2 Test Method 2 Six samples of each trade size of ENT shall be conditioned at a temperature of -4 1.8F (-20 1C) for a period of four hr. The samples shall be removed from the cold chamber one at a time and immediately bent (360) around the mandrel specified in Table 4. Tension
23、shall be applied to each specimen as necessary to cause the ENT to conform closely to the curved surface. The ends of each sample are to be smooth and perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the ENT. A grip shall be fitted to each end of the sample. If needed to su
26、pport the tubing, a smooth plug can be placed inside the tubing under the grip and up to one inch beyond the grip. The samples are then connected to the weight, and the load (see Table 3) is maintained for one min without breaking. Alternately, a tensile machine can be used to test the samples using
27、 a speed of 2-3 in./min (50-75 mm/min) until the load for each trade size is reached. This level shall be held for one min. NEMA TC 13-2014 Page 10 2014 National Electrical Manufacturers Association 5.8 FLAMMABILITY 5.8.1 Vertical Flame (500W Burner) Using the test apparatus specified for the Vertic
28、al Flame Test in UL 1581, Section 1060, and for the Vertical Test/FT1 (Nominal 500W) in CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 0.3, Clause 4.11.1, the flame shall be applied five times to three samples of each trade size, each approximately 18 in. (450 mm) in length, for 15 sec. 5.8.2 (Optional) Flame Test in Cable Tray
29、s, FT4 Samples of finished ENT shall be tested in accordance with the Vertical Flame Test (FT4)Conduit or Tubing on Cable Tray, in CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 211.0, Clause 6.16. 5.9 SECURENESS OF FITTINGS Three samples of ENT, 15 in. (385 mm) in length, shall be assembled with RNC fittings using solvent ceme
30、nting methods recommended by the manufacturer. The assemblies shall be conditioned for a period of seven hours in an air-circulating oven at 194 1.8F (90 1C). The test assemblies shall be cooled to room temperature. Each assembly shall be tested by applying a 150 lbf (667 N) between each fitting and
31、 its associated length of ENT for a period of five min. NEMA TC 13-2014 Page 11 2014 National Electrical Manufacturers Association Section 6 MARKINGS The outer surface of every length of ENT shall be permanently marked at intervals not greater than 60 in. (1.5 m) with the name or trademark of the ma
32、nufacturer. Supplementary information shall be provided as follows: a) “ENT”; b) “NEMA TC 13”; c) the metric designator and the trade size; d) “FT4” when tested in accordance with 5.8.2; e) “For use in residential attics up to 900 mm (3 ft) above the bottom of the ceiling joist” when the ENT material complies with 3.1; f) “PVC”; g) other information desired by the manufacturer.
