2、was noticed to have a slight upward bend in it due to excessive force placed on it through the L/H AFT PBD support jack. The aft half of the L/H PBD was raised eight to ten inches higher than the position of the PBD forward segment. An interference problem occurs when trying to insert/remove the “C“
3、 frame support hook from the support jack dowel. The interference problem requires the use of more than one technician to force the “C“ frame support hook on and off the support jack dowel.Lesson(s) Learned: 1. The “C“ frame support hook and support jack dowel require manual manipulation and experie
4、nce interference during PBD opening/closing operations.2. PBD damage may occur due to excessive forces incurred on it by jacking up PBD until its weight forces “C“ hook to engage with support jack dowel.Recommendation(s): 1. Redesign the “C“ frame support hook/support jack dowel to engage/disengage
5、smoothly with use of only jack to raise/lower PBD jack support dowel.2.
