TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:3.1 Detail Specifications: The requirements for a specific tape shall con
13、sistof all requirements specified herein in addition to requirements specifiedin the applicable detail specification. In case of conflict betweenrequirements of this basic specification and an applicable detailspecification, requirements of the detail specification shall govern.3.2 Material and Cons
14、truction: Tape shall consist of a backing of the typespecified in the applicable detail specification, coated on the entire areaof one side with a pressure-sensitive adhesive.3.3 Properties: Tape shall conform to the requirements specified in theapplicable detail specification, determined in accorda
15、nce with methodsspecified in 4.5.3.3.1 Shelf Life: Tape shall meet all requirements of this specification andthe applicable detail specification at any time up to twelve months fromdate of receipt by purchaser when stored indoors in the original unopenedcontainers at 25C (77F) or lower.Copyright SAE

17、ions detrimentalto usage of the tape, and shall meet the requirements of ASTM D 3715.3.4.1 There shall be no evidence of separation of the adhesive from the backingupon unwinding from the roll.3.5 Sizes and Tolerances:3.5.1 Width: Shall be as specified below, or other commercially availablewidths, a

QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS:4.1 Responsibility for Inspection: The vendor of tape shall supply all samples0 for vendors tests and shall be responsible for performing all requiredtests (See 8

Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform anyconfirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the tape conforms tothe requirements of this specification and the applicable detailspecification.4.2 Classification of Tests:4.2.1 Acceptance Tests: Tests for the following requirement

21、 Tests: Tests for all technical requirements arepreproduction tests and shall be performed prior to or on the initialshipment of tape to a purchaser, when a change in ingredients and/orprocessing requires reapproval as in 4.4.2, and when purchaser deemsconfirmatory testing to be required.4.2.2.1 For
22、 direct U.S. Military procurement, substantiating test data and, whenrequested, preproduction test material shall be submitted to thecognizant agency as directed by the procuring activity, contractingofficer, or request for procurement.4.3 Sampling and Testing: Shall be as follows:0Copyright SAE Int

24、 tests.The number of determinations for each requirement shall be as specified inthe applicable test procedure or, if not specified therein, not less thanthree.4.3.1.1 For Visual Inspection: The lot-size, sampling, and inspection0 procedures shall be as specified in ASTM D 3715. The sample unit shal
25、lbe one roll of tape.4.3.1.2 For Property Testing: The lot size and sampling shall be as specifiedin ASTM D 3715 for end item testing.4.3.1.3 Alternate Sampling: When a statistical sampling plan has been agreed0 upon by purchaser and vendor, sampling shall be in accordance with suchplan in lieu of s
26、ampling as in 4.3.1 and the report of 4.6 shall statethat such plan was used.4.3.2 For Preproduction Tests: Shall be in accordance with ASTM D 3715.4.4 Approval:4.4.1 Sample tape shall be approved by purchaser before tape for production useis supplied, unless such approval be waived by purchaser. Re
27、sults oftests on production tape shall be essentially equivalent to those on theapproved sample.4.4.2 Vendor shall use ingredients, manufacturing procedures, processes, andmethods of inspection on production tape which are essentially the same asthose used on the approved sample tape. If necessary t
28、o make any changein ingredients, in type of equipment for processing, or in manufacturingprocedures, vendor shall submit for reapproval a statement of the proposedchanges in ingredients and/or processing and, when requested, sampletape. Production tape made by the revised procedure shall not be ship

Remove specimens and condition atstandard condi
32、tions (ASTM D 3330 or ASTM D 3330M) for not less than 2hours before testing for adhesion in accordance with ASTM D 3330 orASTM D 3330M, Procedure A.4.5.2.3 Low Temperature: Expose specimens in a suitable cold box for not lessthan 2 hours at 55C 1 (-67F 2). Remove specimens and conditionat standard c
33、onditions (ASTM D 3330 or ASTM D 3330M) for not less than 2hours before testing for adhesion in accordance with ASTM D 3330 orASTM D 3330M, Procedure A.4.5.3 Thermal Radiation: Cut a hole approximately 0.50 inch (12.7 mm) in the0 center of a 6 x 6 inch (152 x 152 mm) cloth sample conforming toASTM D
34、 1931. Clean the cloth with isopropyl alcohol and wipe dry. Applya 1 x 6 inch (25 x 152 mm) specimen of the tape under test to the cleanedsurface covering the hole. Roll tape specimen back and forth in thelengthwise direction with a rubber-covered roller as described inASTM D 3330 or ASTM D 3330M. E
35、xpose the test specimen to a thermalradiation source providing a flux density of 6.0 - 6.5 cal/cm2persecond at the taped hole for a total of 10 seconds. Examine forconformance to requirements of applicable detail specification.4.6 Reports: The vendor of tape shall furnish with each shipment a report
36、showing the results of tests to determine conformance to the acceptance testrequirements and stating that the tape conforms to the other technicalrequirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, lotnumber, AMS-3779A and the applicable detail specification number and theirrevision l
37、etter if any, vendors material designation, and quantity.4.7 Resampling and Retesting: If any specimen used in the above tests fails tomeet the specified requirements, disposition of the tape may be based on theresults of testing three additional specimens for each original nonconformingspecimen. Fa
38、ilure of any retest specimen to meet the specified requirementsshall be cause for rejection of the tape represented and no additionaltesting shall be permitted. Results of all tests shall be reported.5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY:5.1 Rolls: The tape shall be evenly and uniformly wound, adhesive side i
39、n, onsuitable cores with inside diameter of 3.00 inches + 0.06, -0 (75.0 mm +1.5, -0). The cores shall have sufficient rigidity to prevent distortion ofthe roll under normal conditions of transportation, storage, and use. Thelength of tape on each roll shall be not less than 36 yards (33 m).5.2 Pack

43、is used to indicate technicalchanges from the previous issue of this specification.8.2 Thermal Radiation Tests: This specification requires preproduction tests ofwhich the thermal radiation test is one such requirement. 44、433,will perform courtesy testing as may be required for conformance torequirements of the applicable detail specification for thermal radiationfor initial testing of tape. 45、sses have not changed and a statement to this affect isfurnished by the supplier.8.3 Tape should be stored in its original container in a cool, dry place. Atemperature not higher than 25C (77F) and a relative humidity not higherthan 60% are recommended.8.4 Dimensions and properties in inch/pound uni
