5、016-02 Superseding AMS4100E Aluminum Alloy, Alclad, Sheet 5.7Zn - 2.2Mg - 1.6Cu - 0.22Cr (Alclad 7475-T761) Solution and Precipitation Heat Treated (Composition similar to UNS A87475) RATIONALE AMS4100F revises Properties (3.3.2, 3.3.3, 3.3.4.1, 3.3.6), Classification of Tests (4.2), Sampling and Te

6、sting (4.3.1), and Reports (4.4.1), and is a Five Year Review and update of this specification. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Form This specification covers an aluminum alloy in the form of alclad sheet 0.040 inch to 0.249 inch (1.02 to 6.32 mm), incl in nominal thickness (see 8.4). 1.2 Application This sheet has be

7、en used typically for structural applications requiring material with high strength and resistance to exfoliation-corrosion, moderate fatigue strength, and high fracture toughness, but usage is not limited to such applications. 2. 8、n the date of the purchase order forms a part of this specification to the extent specified herein. Plane-stress fracture toughness, KC, m

19、eeting the requirements of ASTM B646, shall meet or exceed the values specified in Table 3. 21、ational Annealed Copper Standard) (22.6 MS/m) or higher and the yield strength does not exceed the specified minimum (3.3.1) by 9.0 ksi (62 MPa) or more, the sheet is acceptable. 3.3.3.2 If the electrical conductivity is 39.0% IACS (22.6 MS/m) or higher and the yield strength exceeds the specified m

22、inimum (3.3.1) by 9.0 ksi (62 MPa) or more, or if the conductivity is at least 38.0% IACS (22.0 MS/m) but less than 39.0% IACS (22.6 MS/m) and tensile properties meet specified requirements (3.3.1), sheet is not acceptable. 3.3.3.3 If the electrical conductivity is lower than 38.0% IACS (22.0 MS/m),

23、 sheet is not acceptable. 3.3.3.4 Sheet that is not acceptable according to the requirements of 3.3.3.2 or 3.3.3.3 may be given additional precipitation heat treatment and retested. After such treatment, if all specified properties are met, the sheet is acceptable. 3.3.4 Exfoliation Corrosion Resist

24、ance The cladding shall be removed from the test surface. For sheet 0.100 inch (2.54 mm) or thicker, 10% of the thickness shall be removed by machining one surface. The cladding present on the surface opposite the test surface shall also be removed or masked off. 3.3.4.1 Sheet shall not exhibit exfo

25、liation corrosion at test plane greater than EB as illustrated by Figure 2, of ASTM G34. 3.3.5 Cladding Thickness Per Side Shall be as shown in Table 4. 27、product outside the range covered by Tables 2, 3, and 4 shall be agreed upon between purchaser and producer. 3.4 Quality Sheet, as received by purchaser, shall be uniform in quality and condition, sound, and free from foreign materials and from imperfections detrimental to usage of the sheet. 3.5 To

28、lerances Shall conform to all applicable requirements of ANSI H35.2 or ANSI H35.2M. SAE INTERNATIONAL AMS4100F Page 5 of 6 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for Inspection The producer of sheet shall supply all samples for producers tests and shall be responsible for the performance

29、 of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the sheet conforms to specified requirements. 4.2 Classification of Tests 4.2.1 Acceptance Tests Composition (3.1), tensile properties (3.3.1), and fracture toughnes

30、s (3.3.2), corrosion resistance indicator test (3.3.3), and dimensional tolerances (3.5) are acceptance tests and except for composition, shall be performed on each inspection lot. 4.2.2 Periodic Tests 4.3 Exfoliation resistance (3.3.4) and cladding thickness (3.3.5) are periodic tests and shall be

31、performed at a frequency selected by the producer unless frequency of testing is specified by purchaser. Sampling and Testing Shall be in accordance with AMS2355 and the following: 4.3.1 Specimens for corrosion resistance indicator testing shall be cut from the same sample used for the tensile speci

32、mens. 4.4 Reports The producer of the alclad sheet shall furnish with each shipment a report stating that the product conforms to the composition and tolerances, and showing the numerical results of tests on each inspection lot to determine conformance to the other acceptance test requirements. This

33、 report shall include the purchase order number, inspection lot number(s), AMS4100F, size, and quantity. The report shall also identify the producer, the product form, and the size of the mill product. 4.4.1 When the product size is outside the range covered by 1.1, the report shall contain a statem

34、ent to that effect. 4.5 Resampling and Retesting Shall be in accordance with AMS2355. 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Identification Shall be in accordance with ASTM B666/ASTM B666M. 5.2 Packaging 5.2.1 Flat sheet shall be protected, during shipment and storage, by interleaving with paper sheets. 5.

35、2.2 Sheet shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with ASTM B660 and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, packaging, and transportation of the sheet to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery. 6. ACKNOWLEDGMENT A producer shall mention this specifi

36、cation number and its revision letter in all quotations and when acknowledging purchase orders. SAE INTERNATIONAL AMS4100F Page 6 of 6 7. REJECTIONS Sheet not conforming to this specification, or to modifications authorized by purchaser, will be subject to rejection. 8. NOTES 8.1 Revision Indicator
