SCOPE 1.1 Form This specification covers an aluminum alloy in the form of plate 1.0 to 6 inches (25.4 to 152.4 mm) in nominal thickness (see 8.4). 1.2 Application This plate has been used typically for parts requiring a high
7、level of mechanical properties up to 300 F (149 C), but usage is not limited to such applications. 2. 22、ss range of 1.1 shall be as agreed upon by purchaser and producer. 3.3.2 Stress-Corrosion Resistance Specimens cut from plate shall show no evidence of stress-corrosion cracking when stressed in the short-transverse direction to 50% of the specified minimum long-transverse yield strength, determined
23、 in accordance with ASTM G47. 3.3.3 Ultrasonic Soundness Each plate, 1.0 to 4.5 inches (25 to 114 mm) in nominal thickness, shall be inspected in accordance with ASTM B594 and shall meet Class A ultrasonic requirements. 3.3.4 Fracture Toughness When specified, plate, 1.5 to 6 inches (38 to 152 mm),
24、inclusive, in nominal thickness, shall meet the values of KIC, shown in Table 3, determined in accordance with ASTM E399 and ASTM B645. 26、 requirements of ANSI H35.2 or ANSI H35.2M. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for Inspection The vendor of plate shall supply all samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any c
27、onfirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the plate conforms to specified requirements. 4.2 Classification of Tests 4.2.1 Acceptance Tests Composition (3.1), tensile properties (3.3.1), ultrasonic soundness (3.3.3), tolerances (3.5) and, when specified, fracture toughness (3.3.4), are acce
28、ptance tests, and shall be performed on each lot. 4.2.2 Periodic Tests Stress-corrosion resistance (3.3.2) is a periodic test and shall be performed at a frequency selected by the vendor unless otherwise specified by purchaser. 4.3 Sampling and Testing Shall be in accordance with AMS2355 and the fol
29、lowing: 4.3.1 Specimens for tensile testing shall be taken in both the longitudinal and long-transverse directions. Plate 1.500 inches and thicker shall also be tested in the short-transverse direction. 4.3.2 Specimens for stress-corrosion testing shall be taken parallel to the short-transverse grai
30、n direction from the center width. 4.3.3 Specimens for fracture-toughness testing shall be taken from the center width of at least one plate in each lot for each test direction specified. If purchaser does not specify a direction, the S - L orientation shall be tested. 4.4 Reports The vendor of the
31、product shall furnish with each shipment a report stating that the product conforms to the composition and tolerances, and showing the numerical results of tests on each inspection lot to determine conformance to the other acceptance test requirements, and stating that the final product conforms to
32、the other technical requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, inspection lot numbers, AMS4101F, size, and quantity. The report shall also identify the producer, the product form, and the size of the mill product. 4.4.1 When material produced to this specification is beyond t
33、he sizes allowed in the scope of tables, or other exceptions are taken to the technical requirements listed in Section 3 (see 5.1.1), the report shall contain a statement “This material is certified as AMS4101F(EXC) because of the following exceptions.” and the specific exceptions shall be listed. 4

PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Identification Shall be in accordance with ASTM B666/B666M. 5.1.1 When technical exceptions are taken (see 4.4.1), the material shall be marked with AMS4101(EXC). 5
35、.2 Packaging Plate shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with ASTM B660 and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, packaging, and transportation of the plate to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery. 6. ACKNOWLEDGMENT A vendor shall mention this
36、specification number and its revision letter in all quotations and when acknowledging purchase orders. 7. REJECTIONS Plate not conforming to this specification, or to modifications authorized by purchaser, will be subject to rejection. 8. NOTES 8.1 Revision Indicator A change bar (l) located in the
