Its publication will facilitate the cancellation of

6、AMS QQ-A-250/5. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Form This specification covers an aluminum alloy in the form of sheet and plate supplied in the annealed (O) condition. When specified, product shall be supplied in the “as fabricated” (F) temper. 1.2 Application These products have been used typically for formed structu

7、ral parts which will be subsequently heat treated, but usage is not limited to such applications. 1.2.1 Certain design and processing procedures may cause these products to become susceptible to stress-corrosion cracking after heat treatment; ARP823 recommends practices to minimize such conditions.

8、2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS The issue of the following documents in effect on the date of the purchase order forms a part of this specification to the extent specified herein. The supplier may work to a subsequent revision of a document unless a specific document issue is specified. When the referenced

Material in the -T42 condition shall have the following properties shown in Table 5 after proper aging to the -T62 and -T72 temper (See AS1990) in accordance with AMS2772. 3.3.2.1 Tensile Properties Shall be as shown in Table 5 (See 8.5). 29、.5 2 3.5 Quality The product, as received by purchaser, shall be uniform in quality and condition, sound, and free from foreign materials and from imperfections detrimental to usage of the product. 3.5.1 When specified, each plate 0.500 to 1.750 inches (12.70 to 44.45 mm) shall be ultrasonically ins

30、pected in accordance with ASTM B 594 and shall meet the requirements of 3.4.1.1 or 3.4.1.2. 3.5.1.1 Plates shall meet the requirement for ultrasonic class B for plate 0.500 to 1.499 inches (12.70 to 38.07 mm) in nominal thickness. 3.5.1.2 Plates shall meet the requirement for ultrasonic class A for

31、plates 1.500 to 1.750 inches (38.10 to 44.45 mm) in nominal thickness. 3.6 Tolerances Shall conform to all applicable requirements of ANSI H 35.2 or ANSI H 35.2M. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for Inspection The vendor of the product shall supply all samples for vendors tests an

32、d shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the product conforms to the specified requirements. 4.2 Classification of Tests 4.2.1 Acceptance Tests Composition (3.1), t

33、ensile properties, as annealed (3.3.1) (not applicable to F temper), tensile properties for response to heat treatment to the -T42 temper, (3.3.2), tolerances (3.8) and, when specified, ultrasonic soundness (3.5) are acceptance tests and except for composition, shall be performed on each lot. 4.2.2

34、Periodic Tests Bending as annealed (3.3.1.2) (not applicable to F temper), tensile properties for response to heat treatment to the, -T62 and -T72 tempers (3.3.2) and cladding thickness (3.4.1) are periodic tests and shall be performed at a frequency selected by the vendor unless frequency of testin

35、g is specified by purchaser.SAE AMS4461 Page 6 of 7 4.3 Sampling and Testing Sampling shall be in accordance with AMS2355. 4.4 Reports The vendor of the product shall furnish with each shipment a report stating that the product conforms to the composition and showing the numerical results of tests o

36、n each lot to determine conformance to the tensile properties and, when performed, to the periodic test requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, lot number, AMS4461, size, and quantity. The report shall also identify the producer, product form, producer lot number, and mill

37、 produced size. 4.5 Resampling and Retesting Shall be in accordance with AMS2355. 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Identification Shall be in accordance with ASTM B 666/B 666M. 5.2 Protective Treatment Product shall be protected from damage during shipment and/or storage by a method determined by the

38、 vendor unless specified by the purchaser. Typical examples of protective measures include but are not limited to interleaving with paper or oiling of surfaces. 5.3 Packaging Product shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with ASTM B 660 and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations

39、pertaining to the handling, packaging, and transportation of the sheet to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery.6. ACKNOWLEDGMENT A vendor shall include this specification number in all quotations and when acknowledging purchase orders. 7. REJECTIONS Product not conforming to this specificatio

40、n, or to modifications authorized by purchaser, will be subject to rejection. 8.
