5、eding AMS4477 Aluminum Alloy, Coiled Sheet 4.4Cu - 1.5Mg - 0.60Mn (2024-T4) Solution Treated (Composition similar to UNS A82024) RATIONALE AMS4477A revises Properties (3.3), Classification of Tests (4.2), Reports (4.4), and Identification (5.1.1), and is a Five-Year Review and update of this specifi

6、cation. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Form This specification covers an aluminum alloy in the form of coiled sheet 0.010 to 0.249 inch, incl (0.25 to 6.32 mm, incl) in thickness, supplied in the T4 temper (see 8.5). 1.2 Application These products have been used typically for medium strength parts requiring formabili

7、ty and whose fabrication does not involve welding, but usage is not limited to such applications. 1.2.1 Certain design and processing procedures may cause these products to become susceptible to stress-corrosion cracking; ARP823 recommends practices to minimize such conditions. 2. The supplier may work to a subsequent revision of a document unless a specific document issue is specified. When the referenced document has been can

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Composition Shall conform to the percentages by weight as shown in Table 1, determined in accordance with AMS2355. Table 1 - Compositio

18、 When specified, product in the T4 temper, after precipitation heat treatment to the T62 temper (see ANSI H35.1/H35.1M) in accordance with AMS2772, shall have the properties shown in Table 3 (see 8.4). 23、 purchaser shall withstand, without cracking, bending at room temperature through an angle of 180 degrees around a diameter equal to the bend factor shown in Table 4 times the nominal thickness of the product with axis of bend parallel to the direction of rolling. 25、chaser, shall be uniform in quality and condition, sound, and free from foreign materials and from imperfections detrimental to usage of the product. 3.6 Tolerances Shall conform to the applicable requirements of ANSI H35.2/H35.2M. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for Inspection Th

26、e vendor shall supply all samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the product conforms to specified requirements. SAE INTERNATIONAL AMS

27、4477A Page 5 of 6 4.2 Classification of Tests 4.2.1 Acceptance Tests Composition (3.1), tensile properties (3.3.1), tolerances (3.6), and when specified, the tensile properties after temper conversion to T62 (3.3.2) and T72 (3.3.3) are acceptance tests and, except for composition, shall be performed

28、 on each lot. 4.2.2 Periodic Tests Bending (3.4) is a periodic test and shall be performed at a frequency selected by the vendor unless frequency of testing is specified by purchaser. 4.3 Sampling and Testing Shall be in accordance with AMS2355. 4.4 Reports The vendor of the product shall furnish wi

29、th each shipment a report stating that the product conforms to the composition and tolerances, and showing numerical results of tests for the acceptance test requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, lot number, AMS4477A, size, and quantity. The report shall also identify th

30、e producer, the product form and the size of the mill product. 4.4.1 When material produced to this specification, is beyond the sizes allowed in the scope or tables or other exceptions are taken to the technical requirements listed in Section 3 (see 5.1.1), the report shall contain a statement “Thi

31、s material is certified as AMS4477A(EXC) because of the following exceptions.” and the specific exceptions shall be listed. 4.5 Resampling and Retesting Shall be in accordance with ASTM B666/B666M. 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Identification Shall be in accordance with ASTM B666/B666M. 5.1.1 When

32、 technical exceptions are taken (see 4.4.2), the material shall be marked with AMS4477(EXC). 5.2 Packaging 5.2.1 Product shall be protected from damage during storage and shipment by a method determined by vendor unless specified by purchaser. Examples of typical protective methods include, but are

33、not limited to interleaving with paper or oiling of the surface. 5.2.2 The product shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with ASTM B660 and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, packaging, and transportation of the product to ensure carrier acceptance

34、 and safe delivery. 6. ACKNOWLEDGMENT The vendor shall mention this specification number in all quotations and when acknowledging purchase orders. 7. REJECTIONS Production not conforming to this specification, or to modifications authorized by purchaser, will be subject to rejection. SAE INTERNATION
