GENERAL REQUIREMENTS 3.1 The TLTV aircraft NLG tractive force and steering protection systems or alerting devices which in the event of failure or malfunction, would as a consequence of failure not preclude potential damage to the aircrafts nose landing gear and its steering
17、system must be inspected, maintained, tested and calibrated to TLTV manufacturers requirements for all the designated aircraft types which the TLTV is designed to handle. 3.2 Inspection, maintenance and calibration schedules, any special tools and training requirements for the TLTVs protection syste
18、ms or alerting devices must be available.3.3 The TLTVs aircraft NLG protection systems or alerting devices must be inspected, maintained and calibrated in accordance with the requirements of this document and the TLTV manufacturers maintenance manuals and schedules.3.4 The organization responsible f
19、or the maintenance of the TLTV must keep documented records of each TLTVs aircraft NLG protection systems or alerting devices inspection, maintenance and calibration in maintained files to be made available for review and audit by the regulatory authorities when requested. 3.5 Records should be kept
20、 for a minimum period of 2 years or in accordance with the requirements of the controlling regulatory authority. 4. MANUFACTURERS MAINTENANCE MANUALS 4.1 The TLTV manufacturers maintenance manual shall incorporate a separate section covering the inspection, maintenance and calibration of the TLTV ai
21、rcraft NLG steering and tractive force protection systems or alerting devices.The maintenance manual shall: 4.1.1 Detail the scope of the aircraft NLG steering and tractive force protection systems or alerting devices. 4.1.2 List applicable reference documents 4.1.3 List applicable equipment require
22、d to perform the inspection, calibration and maintenance tasks. 4.1.4 Include trouble shooting sections. 4.1.5 List inspection, maintenance and calibration intervals. 4.1.6 List all items to be checked/calibrated. 4.1.7 Detail against each task full instructions on how the task/calibration should be
23、 carried out. 5. INSPECTION, MAINTENANCE AND CALIBRATION REQUIREMENTS 5.1 The TLTV manufacturer shall publish inspection, calibration and maintenance check lists for each model of TLTV. 5.2 Each check list shall include: 5.2.1 Detail the scope of the check list. 24、7_5.2.2 List applicable reference documents. 5.2.3 List applicable equipment required to perform the inspection, calibration and maintenance tasks. 5.2.4 List inspection, maintenance and calibration intervals in hours run and/or calendar interval. 5.2.5 List all items to be checked/calibrated on the
25、 TLTV aircraft NLG steering and tractive force protection systems or alerting devices.5.2.6 Provide for the TLTV serial/chassis/fleet number to be recorded. 5.2.7 Provide for a reference number to be recorded. 5.2.8 Provide for details of defects and actions required to be recorded. 5.2.9 Provide fo
26、r each checkable item/task to be signed off and dated when complete by the qualified and authorized person completing the task. 5.2.10 Provide for the completed check list to be signed off by the qualified and authorized person completing the tasks and counter signed and dated by an authorized perso
27、n when all tasks and actions have been completed. 6. CALIBRATION 6.1 Inspection, maintenance and calibration of the TLTVs aircrafts NLG steering and tractive force protection systems or alerting devices must be carried out in strict accordance with the TLTV manufacturers check list and maintenance i
28、nstructions as contained in the TLTVs maintenance manual. 6.2 The TLTVs aircraft NLG steering and tractive force protection systems or alerting devices must be calibrated at service intervals as specified in the TLTV manufacturers maintenance manual. 6.3 Each calibration must be carried out in accor
29、dance with the TLTV manufacturers inspection/ maintenance/calibration check list using the tools and equipment listed in the TLTV manufacturers maintenance manual or suitable equivalents. 6.4 Any tools used in the inspection maintenance and calibration tasks must themselves be calibrated against kno
30、wn standards where applicable. 6.5 The qualified and authorized person performing the inspection, maintenance and calibration tasks must sign off and date each task as it is completed on the maintenance check list. 6.6 The check list must be signed off by the qualified and authorized person performi
31、ng the inspection, maintenance and calibration tasks and countersigned and dated by an authorized person when all tasks and resulting actions have been completed. 7. SPECIAL TOOLS 7.1 The TLTV manufacturer must list in his maintenance manuals and check lists any special tools that are required to pe
32、rform the inspection, maintenance and calibration requirements. 7.2 Where appropriate instructions regarding the calibration of the special tools must be provided. 7.3 The re-calibration of any special tools must be performed and recorded at periods not exceeding the tool manufacturers requirements.
33、 7.4 Instructions on how to use any special tools must be detailed in the TLTVs maintenance manual. SAE INTERNATIONAL ARP5284B Page 5 of 7_8. TRAINING 8.1 The personnel maintaining the TLTV must be provided with appropriate and adequate training in the inspection, maintenance and calibration of the
34、TLTVs and aircraft NLG steering and tractive force protection systems or alerting devices. 8.2 The TLTV manufacturer must be able to provide appropriate and formal training. 8.3 Personnel successfully completing formal training courses should be recorded as being qualified. 9. MAINTENANCE, INSPECTIO
35、N AND CALIBRATION RECORDS 9.1 Records must be kept of all inspections, maintenance and calibration checks of the TLTV aircraft NLG steering and tractive force protection systems or alerting devices for a minimum period of 2 years. Other relevant maintenance/inspection records should also be kept. 9.
36、2 Each task must be signed off and dated when completed by the qualified and authorized person carrying out the task. 9.3 The completed and signed off maintenance record must be counter-signed and dated by an authorized person. 9.4 The records must be maintained in a manner that enables them to easi
37、ly be presented for review and audit by the appropriate regulatory authority when requested. 10. TRACEABILITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY 10.1 It shall remain possible throughout the operating life of any TLTV model: 10.1.1 To trace back the source data for any aircraft NLG steering system and tractive force
38、 protection or alerting devices calibration values published in the manufacturers maintenance manual. 10.1.2 To update these in the event of a modification of source data, or if (an) additional aircraft type(s) is (are) to be designated for handling by the TLTV. 10.1.3 To analyze any reported in-ser
39、vice incidents in order to determine whether a modification is required either to the TLTV or to its aircraft NLG steering system and tractive force protection or alerting devices inspection, maintenance and calibration procedures, so as to improve aircraft NLG steering system and tractive force pro
40、tection against undetected damage. 10.1.4 To issue to all TLTV operators service bulletins, modifications to the TLTV, or amendments to its maintenance manuals inspection, maintenance and calibration procedures, if justified by one of the above occurrences. 10.2 The responsibility for the traceabili
41、ty and monitoring functions defined in 11.1 above should normally rest with the TLTV manufacturer. 10.3 In the event of a TLTV being resold, it shall be incumbent on the seller to transfer to the buyer the corresponding maintenance manuals and maintenance records, and notify the TLTV manufacturer of
42、 the sale. It shall be incumbent on the buyer to register with the TLTV manufacturer in order to receive any service bulletins, modifications to the TLTV, or amendments to the maintenance manuals as may be issued. 10.4 In the event of the TLTV manufacturer ceasing business, the responsibility togeth
43、er with the relevant files should be transferred to any company taking over the TLTV product lines engineering after sales or marketing functions. 44、given in 10.4, it shall be incumbent on the operators of the TLTV model(s) to: 10.5.1 Designate an appointed holder of the functions defined in 10.1 above. 10.5.2 Ensure that the relevant files are duly transferred to the appointed holder designated under 10.5.1.10.5.3 Inform all operators of aircra
45、ft handled by TLTV(s) of the foregoing, who will in turn keep informed the controlling regulatory authority as required. 11.
